Lakshya and Swarna- One way or other both victims of social reputation

I know many of you don't like Lakshyaraj. Agreed he is a villain. But in today's epi somehow I saw a different side to this man. He is a homosexual and is unable to lead a normal married life. His orientation cannot be changed. But the social customs of those times didn't allow kuwar Chacha to accept this difference in his son.

For him if he accepts that, that means society will laugh at him for giving birth to such a son and also they might not allow him to live in society also. They might kill him( We know even today people are doing it for homosexual people and this is 1940).

So this young man is forced to pretend something in front of the society. He is married, but cannot lead a married life. And yesterday I really felt sorry for Lakshya when Kuwar Chacha keeps a gun to his head and demands a heir.

A lot of Lakshya's anger stems from this unacceptance of his individuality by the society. He cannot love a woman and become a father and the only way to show strength in front of the society is by controlling her. Because as saying goes a man needs to prove his manliness.

And now coming to Swarna. She is the victim of circumstances. She is married to a homosexual man and expected to keep silent about the fact that she does not have marital relation. The grooming given to her in the palace demands that mask from her. She is not loved, yet she has to look happy. She is in a marriage that has no hope. Still she cannot run away from it as customs does not allow it. Now in all probabability if Lakshya is unable to have relation with her, Kokila or kuwar chacha can force this girl to have relation with a random servant and get pregnant. They will show the child as Lakshya and Swarna's child.

This is where the morality of people who question the morality of other's lie. And most often good people in their need to keep reputation fall prey to this people's game.

Gayatri has the right morality and she doesn't believe in pretense. And that's why she is a tough nut to crack. Unlike Swarna, by refusing to wear bijiya the girl makes public the marital relation of hers and RNJ.

But then it is this misplaced reputation of our society which cannot accept differences is the cause of many evils.

Superb post..👏i want Gayatri to help and support Swarna ..not only Gayatri even Ranaji also concerned for Swarna so much..so hope they do justice for Swarna and Laksh both..as relatives but as king and queen too..poor Swarna deserves all happiness and she has to be strong now to fight for herself..and for Lakshraj yes he's also forced to do against his will..chacha-chachiji need to understand their son as well.

Superb post.. that's why I think.. Swrna needs Gayu this time most.. hope Gaytri will show her way to remain strong. that will make another feather in Gaytri's hat that she is real queen of Amerkot.. becoz Queen needs to be strong for her people.. Sometimes only to have tag of Queen isn't necessary.. U need to prove urself worth for this tag.. be in Rajmahal n in her own state's people...

Yes im also one of those people not too found of Laksh, but the actor did great portraying a man not being free to express himself.

Im just hoping CV will handle this correctly. Gayatri can do that, but eventually i would like Laksh to stand up for himself.

It's extremely sad that Lakshyaraj is being forced to have relationship with a woman when he clearly likes men..so he is a victim in that sense but that doesn't give him any right to remove his anger and frustrations on an innocent woman..

He killed a man he was interested in because that helped his cause..

So Lakshyaraj may be a victim of societal norms in one sense but he is weak and evil himself..

He could have been a hero by helping Swarna but instead of adding to her woes

I would live if Swarna stands up for herself..Gayatri and Ranaji proving the required support

What I am interested to know so the stance RM will take regarding the whole issue

@sorethumb I am not supporting Laksh and his evil intentions. I only said from where they stem from. See every problem has good or bad outcome. Some people try to help others so that atleast they are saved. But others who have gone bitter, wants to suffer their own fate. Laksh belongs to second category and only Swarna can change this ,by taking a stand.

Because if she takes stand, sometimes she will not only be able to save herself but also Laksh.

I do get what you are trying to say..

I don't think Lakshyaraj wants to suffer his own fate per se..he may have married under pressure but if he had truly bowed down to pressure he wouldnt have continued to try and have a chance with men as he has been shown to..

If I felt bad for him, it vanished when he started abusing Swarna or killed a man in cold blood coz it suited his purpose

The man's action stem as much from his greed as they do from anger and frustration
