Bert & G- i want to see the romance of the King and the Queen a la Jodha Akbar, why this Yash Chopra's chiffon saree spree?

Is RGD's Rani look gone forever? She is looking like any other Bahu who wears backless blouse & a transparent saree .where is the Queen from 1940s?
Not happy.

Hola ladies. One comment before I hurry off again!
The comments on the watch reminded me of something that has been nagging me ever since I caught sight of it last week. The golden metal strap of his watch. Were such straps in vogue in the 1940s?

you know, I was just wondering whether these blouses with strings were a fad back then?

Chiffon is not even the problem...because they did wear lace and chiffon back then...but she is not looking regal or even like she belongs to that period...! They should have accessorized her right...remember that promo where she wore a chiffon saree and those pearls...?

They can't imagine that the audience will not notice details just because there is romance on the screen...!

I think it must have been...cause I remember my father talking about some gold strap watch that was an heirloom...

Exactly!
My gripe was about the look Bertie, it's too modern. the Sathiya women would fit in here easily with their jewelry & costumes.

IMO, the period feel is the USP of this show.
Seems extremely silly to loose that over few accessories.

Bertie and Sims, i agree why the rush to show romance. Show it with the right backdrop and clothes. Feels like they need to catch a TRP train. Slow down CV's.

Those are not the kind of sarees that people wore in 1940's. 😕

I don't understand why they want to lose their key differentiator for nothing?

Btw, who knotted the strings of the blouse? The King or the husband 😉😆
And why is he keeping his eyes shut? Does he not want to outrage her modesty or his own?
