Hello Sush,

Thanks for the post despite the downer the previous episode clearly was for you!

Miss Shweta's collages but well...I understand!

Yesterday's episode has been discussed ad nauseam. So let it be! Like you've said, if you can forgive Gayathri for her appalling behaviour at the bichiya ritual, you can forgive Ranaji for his boorish ways at the dining table!

My problem increasingly is less with the writing and more with the execution. Why is it getting so ham- handed on occasion? What was with that conversation that Ranaji had with Mr Johnson, who was either invisible or hiding behind the door? If they didn't want to spend on an actor, couldn't they have gotten a vintage telephone as prop?

Yesterday, while I liked the fact that Rajmata had Gayathri's back and was trying to clean up the mess her son had created, I hated the low class brawl in the kitchen. This is not some saas bahu show. These are royals, for Chrissakes! Kunwar Chachi's cheap nautanki is a no-go for me! If you must show her taunting, get her to do it with some class. Not like a saas from some Ekta soap!

I liked the fact that Govind Seth turned up at the royal durbar and had his say. Much needed shot in the arm for Gayathri. To know that she is not fighting this fight alone. Liked the scene where she decides against meeting her father because she does not want him to see her tear stricken face. the daughter wants to protect the father and vice versa! Hope she understands what Govind Seth was trying earlier!

Rajmata displayed rare emotion on seeing Govind Seth's tears! Can't blame her, genuine emotion must be rare in the royal quarters.

Anita Raaj is a class apart! Like I was telling a friend, she alone makes the show worth watching for me!

While I liked the chemistry in the scene between the leads, I was rather taken aback to hear of more creditors. So, if they start crawling out of the wood works, will Govind Seth have to buy them off or will there be more marriages that Rajmata will have to arrange 😆

Jokes apart, a very sensible approach by Gayathri, to give up her on her efforts to establish her innocence. But did it have to end in a verbal challenge about how her love will win over his hatred? And that too by Diwali? Do you make people fall in love by the calendar? And do you make people fall in love at all? Isn't that supposed to be an organic process somewhat? Do we have to spell everything out? Can't certain thoughts remain just that or not even that? Will creatives never learn the power of subtlety?

Rana ji was left with no choice but to issue a counter challenge thereafter. And what better than to address the very issue that had brought her into his life! I would have preferred him to have wanted to address it even otherwise, and not just to get her off his back!

So Gayathri will be the adarsh patni, who will assist her husband in his efforts to kick her out of his life? Would it have been better to have ignored that part and instead said that as Queen, it was as much her responsibility to wipe off the royal debts? It would have been more lady like for one, and not serial bahu like! Sigh, guess am expecting too much!

Rana ji was left bereft of words finally! Or at least he chose not to retort verbally! I like that! Really like that! So much better than the verbal diarhoea of the previous night!

I really liked the lines about the arrows, both the lead and the verbal kind! I think the dialogue writers have been doing a great job overall!

But that last part where she ended up seeming a spoiled brat when she attempted to display her royal airs? Why and to what purpose? Who was she trying to impress? The king or the royal attendants? Neither seemed particularly impressed!

Gayathri should leave queenly airs to Rajmata. At least until she masters the art. She comes across as petulant more than regal, sorry!

@ infofan..

Sorry am replying here cause of my post restrictions...but yes, for a man of Seth ji's status, it would not have been uncommon to get a photograph taken...as for the bhabhis, clearly they are gawar types...hence the hyperventilating maybe...!

As for the knight in white, why do you think I put up a spirited defense of the man yesterday...it was all thanks to the precap 😆

LOve your post Bertie!
Knight in white with measured reaction is working for me too! 😊

Will add more later...

Thanks for the suspective, Sush. Was only half expecting one today. 😳 Missing Shwets. 🤔
Gayatri is still not written well for me. I didn't get that conversation..what did she mean by other moneylendes were also there...so? Why would they all have daughters of marriable age and why would they all fall in love with Ranaji?😕 Her dialogue made no sense to me. So what exactly did RM supposedly see in her? Does she think RM agreed for the marriage because she was convinced of Gayatri's love? Is that what she intended to say?

I thought I wouldn't say this in the forum...but I have criticised Sid's acting...so I will just point out where I feel DD is also failing Gayatri. Gayatri comes across as haughty while talking to Ranaji...which is a big NO...DD has to make the character more smooth, by adding a touch of innocence to her. I wonder why this director doesn't work for DD as well as he does for Sid.

Loved the father- daughter scene- DD was perfect there.👏.The transition from there to the bold avatar in front of Ranaji has to be smooth...someone needs to take care of that.

At the beginning of the episode Gayatri says she should not drink even water from this house since she has not been accepted as the wife...made no sense other than being a silly tantrum of hers.

The arrow scene was written well otherwise...I loved all the dialogues there. Gayatri/DD looked very tired for some reason.

Ordering the water and the breakfast made sense. Water, because she had decided a few hours earlier she didn't have the right to drink even water, being the rejected wife...that changed now, because she was not feeling rejected anymore...she had overcome another hurdle he had thrown her way. The food, because he had taunted her the previous day, asking her if she had eaten...she no longer needed him to ask after her..she could take care of herself...and she was preparing for a long battle. Would have been better if Ranaji had a fb of their previous day's conversation, right after she said it.

On the whole, Gayatri needs to walk a fine line between the two avataars...to avoid coming across as a proud, vain queen. Writing and direction has to get a little better than this.

Precap: I liked the way Ranaji was eavesdropping (Bad manners, excused! 😛)...That was very sweet. No idea why Gayatri had to give that triumphant look...I don't even get why she has to help him repay the debt...😕..even if she does, why tell him?
😆

@bold That line had me Lol-ing too, Chick...it actually sounded funny...how is that a matter of pride anyway...that you were chosen from among the hundreds of eligible daughters of hundreds of moneylenders that the palace was indebted to...you could have well been the least evil? Besides there was no trace of these hundreds of other creditors, forget any law suits that they were threatening the royalty with...! Besides, none of these hundreds of young women wrote love letters to Ranaji asking him to rescue them from a fate worse than death. Nor did they stalk him at every opportunity. The only other stalker of sorts we got to see was Princess Sharmila but we all saw how Rana ji dealt with her. So, sorry Rani Gayathri but Rajmata had actually found a princess for her son and said princess had also developed the hots for him. Rana ji summarily dismissed her of course, and you yourself were aware of this having stalked him during that meeting too! So don't see how it is a matter of pride that Rajmata came knocking at your door with a proposal. She needed an escape route and your love letter gave her just that, nothing less and nothing more! Poor Rana ji of course was left with no choice in the matter!

@underlined Oho, you dared to say it. Have desisted because I don't to start a fan war out here. However, Fedex and I did have an exchange about how Drashti's inner Geet surfaced every now and then, particularly when she was being all cutesy in the beginning! That pout, that tone of voice, all of it took me straight back to Geet...!

In my review, I have said that Gayathri has much to learn before she can make a convincing queen. Yesterday, she looked like a petulant, tantrumy brat who was throwing major attitude! Well, it was not just the writing but as much the actor's interpretation of it. She is painting Gayathri in very broad strokes, missing out on the finer subtleties. Gayathri can be quietly confident in her ways, she can dare to look Rana ji in the eye and speak her mind to him but taunt him she does not have to. Nor would she! Why do these makers imagine that the sign of a strong woman is being ill mannered or proud or throwing attitude? Part of why Gayathri came across as if she was posturing yesterday was because of the way she was projected. How did the director let that interpretation pass?

@red Interesting point you make...but unfortunately that did not come across at all...don't think too many people even remember...forget the audience, Rana ji himself didn't seem to make the connection...the problem here is sequencing...coming at the end of all that posturing, it was irritating more than anything else...Love is hardly a language that you can pick up in thirty days...and then that self-righteous stance where she pledges to be the good wife and help him discharge his obligations even if it means it will give him an opportunity to show the door...sorry but reminded me of the few glimpses I'd caught of the horrendous show that precedes this one...

Thankfully Rana ji is more nuanced and subtle...and more importantly, he rides a white steed 😆

Many things are already discussed here brilliantly.

TRP is showing its effect that's why character assassination started from Ranaji to Gayatri. Story n Characters have taken 360 degree turn(Not in positive way).

I didn't like Gayatri's come back because it was not decided by her, her brain was derived by her mother.

Biggest let down !!! Gayatri's approach to win Ranaji's trust. She is using her queenie rights to win a person which is offensive for me.

Ranaji character is butchered in every possible angle. He got king post as heritage how I wish to see him earning that position.

The episode was a lot better than the previous one to say the least. I really liked the father daughter scene. The precap was good. Finally she isn't begging for his love! 😆But the time limit part irks me to the core. Why is it necessary to make him accept her and light the diya together by Diwali. TRP funda again. The righteous wife winning over the hate.

Anita Raj is a class apart in acting. She emoted really well in yesterday's episode on seeing Govind Seth's tears. She hasn't done that in any of the other episodes before. Like Bertie said you can watch the show alone based on her acting because she is that good to watch. 😊

What I didn't like was thatkitchen politics have started. This isn't a saas bahu drama but the CV's are infusing some of this to get the TRP's. Some of Kokila's dialogue are becoming too cheap and crass. They need to tone it down.

Yes. That is what puzzled me. If Gayatri wants to prove that she is a good Queen why drag Ranaji into it?What is the significance of a deadline? TRPs am sure. If Gayatri goes all out, to do good for the people of Ameerkot, its the best way to Ranaji's heart. At least she would gain his respect! Now, its a cat and mouse game.

Kokila is a cute character. Vicious and dumb... 😃

Oh well! Like I said silly season has started ...low on sense...high on whatever anyone thinks is needed for TRP!

@bold He would have done that too...if Sula's nath had not shown its ugly face...and then he just couldn't bring himself to do it...and conveniently cited that to state the wedding rituals remained incomplete...don't think it is that relevant...the Hindu Marriage act talks only of the saptapadi, I think...unless in Ranaji's times, sindoor was a non negotiable

He did not have an option with regard to the other two...no way he could feign putting a ring on or the toe-ring for that matter! He will do what he has to in public but, where he has a chance to, he will leave those rituals incomplete 😆

The chap is just grabbing at straws...!

CVS are trying to cater /impress all difference audiences to gain TRP and show is getting effected.
Audiences don't have patience to study each and every expressions of the actor. If overall episode/message looks bad then they tend to stay away from the show.

Yesterday's episode was much better. Hope it stay like that .

Agree...the TRP audience is certainly not looking for nuances...they just want tear jerking moments that will provide them catharsis of sorts... I mean look at poor Gayathri...what a life she leads despite being a Queen and all that...! Sad but true..their idea of good messages are extreme messages, no moderation of any sort...!

IMO RNJ's withholding of sindhoor started the twisting of the characters.I thought it was un-intentional,then he went to town,ie,his mom& Sulu's photo about not doing it.🤢

They've made it a bone of contention between RaGA,it'll be symbolic of his whole hearted acceptance, when it happens.
Right now, it gives RNJ some reason to say the wedding didn't happen & treat G as some random woman acting as his Queen.
