~ Grounded in Reality or Swaying with the Wind? ~
"Vachan vivaah ka diya tha, nibhane ka nahi."
The wedding was a political maneuver to secure the kingdom, alright, but going through the ordeal once is sufficient to last me a lifetime. While the promise was not really to live the marriage each day, I could clearly see where Badi Rani Maa was going with her words. Her insinuations were not lost on me. For her, under the guise of her love for me, this was a way of putting down RajMata.
RajMata's tactics were another story. Subtlety had never been her forte. Never one to lose an opportunity to further her cause, her endeavors to prove that Gayatri and Indravadhan are a match made in heaven never fail to make me cringe.
Gayatri. She is a kaleidoscopic personality. So many shades to her nature and so many aspects of her behavior. What is her true color? In this game of appearances and deception, is she a pawn or an experienced player?
For Badi Rani Maa, it is about winning - apparently, for me.
For RajMata, it is about winning - for the kingdom.
In the tug of war between a King and a normal human (me), the human was already an obscure silhouette in the pages of history. With the victory, it was essential that the King hold his own. Becoming a puppet would not serve to benefit the interests of the kingdom, and the obscure silhouette haunting the King.
As for me?
Erasing Sulakshana's memories from the canvas of my mind is a futile attempt. Till Indravadhan lives, Sulakshana's memories will be his breaths.
