PART 10: Will She Come?
Patel Mansion...
Sammy came downstairs while yawning..
S: " Grams... Is Raghav here?
G: " no beta... he went back to his house after dinner yesterday..., she said sadly while serving breakfast to her son Hrishikesh.
H: " I dont know why he want to live alone not with his family...
Raghav has his own house where he lives alone... whereas sammy lives with their grams and raghav's dad... Raghav would come to his dad's house somedays and stay there but he always prefers staying alone in his own house that he designed every inch. He's a kind of a loner... it doesn't mean he hate his family or something like that.. he loves them... but he prefer staying alone...
S: " uncle u know nah? Y...
H: " yes... ever since his mother...(he sighed)... i want him to be happy...
S: " uncle... he's still suffering internally even though he never shows it outside...
Grams sniffed as tears started to flow on her cheeks. Sammy hurried to his grandmother and hugged her tightly.
G: " i want my bachu to be happy... i can see the gloominess behind his every smile... he never shows it as he doesn't want to bother us...
S: " grams... he will be happy... we will always be there for him... and he is happier now compared to the past... and I'm sure all his sadness vanish through thin air very soon...
H: " yes maa...
S: " so, yes my dear sexy grams.. now smile... i can only leave to office to meet ur other workaholic grandson after seeing ur breathtaking-smile...
His grandmother pulled his ear making him winch..
G: " u little naughty boy.. go.. go use this charms of urs to those lovely young ladies out there..
S: " but u will always be my favourite..., he pouted...
Sapphire...
Raghav entered his office building... he pressed the elevator button... once he was inside the elevator, he was alone... He remembered that day in the elevator when he was stuck with kalpana... He chuckled remembering that incident... He never thought the girl who never leaves a chance to fight him was afraid of closed space... She was claustrophobic... Damn, she was hyperventilating and freaking out... So, he hugged her close to him and calmed her down... Yeah he knew that he should help someone when they r in such situation but he was not sure if he would hugged like that if someone else was in her situation... He came out of his thoughts when a chiming sound heard indicating he reached his floor...
He walked out of the elevator to his cabin with his face holding the small smile...On his way, he paused at the cabin next to his, his pa's cabin @ kalpana's cabin... The smile on his face dropped when he saw it was empty... From the moment he apologised to her and told her that she can have her job back, only one question was nagging inside his mind: "Will she come back?... Well, now he got the answer for the question: " No, she is not coming back...
With an unnamed feeling, he walked towards his cabin... he didn't know why but he felt sad, angry and hurt at the time... he couldn't name it exactly... he went and sat inside his cabin... there was a knock on his door... he immediately looked up thinking it was kalpana... but the hope in his eyes died when he saw his other assistant there... He had two assistants before as a lot of works has to be done... But kalpana is the one who was with him most of the time... The other one named miss Hina mostly runs errands for Sammy... She works with Sammy more... Because kalpana is not here in the office, Hina has to do her work as well..
H: " Sir... The business delegates from Delhi asked to postpone the meeting as they couldn't make it today..
Raghav frowned and looked at his watch...
R: " Isn't the meeting supposed to be half an hour from now?
H: " yes sir... That's the one...
R: " HOW CAN THEY CAN CANCEL THE MEETING AT LAST MINUTE? U KNOW WHAT JUST CANCEL THE WHOLE DEAL WITH THEM!! I DON'T WANNA WORK WITH THOSE WHO NEVER VALUES MY TIME..., he roared in anger.
Hina widened her eyes ..
H: " but sir.. the deal's worth crores...
R: " DID I ASK FOR UR OPINION HINA?? JUST DO WHAT I SAID!!! IM THE BOSS HERE... NOW GET OUT!!! AND I DON'T WANT ANYBODY TO DISTURB ME TILL 2pm...,he shouted.
Hina gulped looking at the boiling volcano there and ran out of his cabin... after she left, raghav threw the paper weight on his table and it hit the expensive vase at the corner of the cabin breaking it... He closed his eyes and leaned his head on the back of his leather chair in frustration... He was damn angry that the delegates decided not to value his time... But deep down his heart he knew that the anger was mainly caused by the absence of his PA...
Suddenly there was a knock on his door and someone walked in... It was the sound of the heels he heard as he was still sitting with closed eyes to calm himself...
R: " Didn't i say i don't want to be disturbed till 2pm???, he hissed in irritation with eyes still closed eyes...
He opened his eyes to see a cup of steaming expresso on his table... His frown deepened before he lifted his head to see the person in front of him... His frown disappeared when he saw Kalpana standing there wearing a peach coloured button down shirt tugged inside her high waist blue jeans with her long silky hair flowing freely till her waist... Her eyes looked at the broken base pieces and then back to his face... Her face showed concern...
K: " Boss... what happened?
R: " Y r u late miss kalpana?
K: " Im not late... U came earlier than office time... i came here on time.., she replied with glint of humour in her voice...
Raghav narrowed his eyes..
R: " Well FYI miss kalpana, u r supposed to be here before ur boss as u r my pa...
K: " Why so?, she asked.
R: " Because i say so..., he said raising his right eyebrow.
Kalpi rolled her eyes and sighed..
K: " Ok boss.. But why r u angry?
Raghav told her about the delhi delegates...
K: " Boss... u need to chill out a bit...
R: " i don't appreciate tardiness when it comes to my work..., he said seriously.
Kalpana sighed...
K: " ok then don't complain when u have grey hairs when u r still young...
Raghav glared at her...
Kalpana raised her both hands in air saying she surrendered.
K: " ok ok... don't go angry bird on me... i think u missed ur coffee this morning... so i brought u ur double expresso just as u like to have it boss..., she said pointing at the coffee cup on his table...
Raghav nodded before taking the cup in his hands and sipped the coffee while kalpi went towards the broken pieces of vase... she started cleaning the mess... Her back was turned towards raghav... He drank his coffee with his eyes still on her... she cleaned the mess and put the paper weight back on his table...
She started moving towards the door to get out when Raghav spoke.
R: " Thanks...
Kalpana turned around surprised...
K: " for what?
R: " for the coffee...(short pause)... for coming back...
She was looking at him with wide eyes, raghav asked:
R: " what? Why r u looking at me like that?
K: " no it's not like every day u get to hear The Great Raghav Aryan Patel saying sorry and thanks... and that too day after day... yesterday was sorry.. today's thanks... i cant believe it...
Raghav rolled his eyes...
R: " dont flatter urself miss kalpana.. im pretty sure u r not gonna get those words again in near future...
K: " really boss?, she asked with bored expression...
R: " Get out... I have work to do..., saying so he ignored her and started working...
Kalpi looked at him with narrowed eyes before leaving the cabin...
K: "still a Devil.., she muttered to herself before closing the door a little harder than normal..
Raghav looked up at the closed door and a small smile formed on his face... He shook his head before returning to his work...
