PART 5 :HE'S GONNA MAKE MY LIFE MISERABLE.

K: " believe it or not mom... but i have a job in hand..., she said giving a winning look towards her mother who looked at her with narrowed eyes.

L: " how come?

K: " only u n dad think im incapable of doing anything if not under ur wings.., she said rolling her eyes.

L: " ur dad and i never thought something like that... thats y when u were hell bent on studying fashion designing we let u..

K: " yeah.. with a promise of double degree which included interior designing along side fashion designing...

L: " kalpana..., she said warningly.

Kalpana sighed.

K: " what mom? U said if i get a job within 24 hours, u will let me live here and wont tell dad that u found me..

L: " no young lady... im surely gonna tell ur father that i know about ur whereabouts though i wont tell exactly where..

K: " arrggghh... fine.. but i dont want him to know im here... deal?

L: " deal... and remember this i will be keeping an eye on u..., she said strictly.

Kalpana gave a wide grin...

At night...

P: " wow... thats awesome... thank god aunty agreed.., pakhi squealed in happiness while hugging kalpi.

T: " thanks to the girl kalpana jashwal..., she said.

P: " such a mood breaker.., she slammed the pillow on tanvi's head.

Both were indulged in pillow fight.. they stopped when they realised seeing kalpi lost in her own world.

T: " earth to babe.., she said waving her hand in front of kalpi...

Kalpi came out of her trance and looked from one to another...

K: " girls... im busted..., she said in a very defeated voice.

Pakhi and tanvi frowned and urged her to tell the reason. Kalpi told them about her new job.. nope.. more about her new boss.. how she met him in the morning.. how she called him hideous monkey face.. and then the office incident where she insulted him if he was the peon although she got the job by faking... and how he asked her to make coffee...

K: " and the devilish smirk that he gave... gosh... that said a lot..., she said while staring into the blank space in front of her.

P: " said what?, she asked like listening to a horror story while tanvi's expression mimicked hers.

Kalpi looked down at the two girls who were sitting near her feet while both of their elbows stand supporting their head.

K: " THAT HE'S GONNA MAKE MY LIFE MISERABLE..., she said gulping in fear.

T: " is he handsome?, she asked raising her eyebrows.

K: " meh..., she said uninterested like nothing about him was attractive.

P: " let me google him.., an excited pakhi went to grab her laptop...

P: " Rag-hav Ar-yan Pa-tel... enter..., she said while typing.

P: "U GOTTA BE KIDDING ME..., her eyes wide as saucers looking at the screen...

T: " is he that ugly?, she frowned before turning the laptop towards her.

Her frown turned to what pakhi's face reflected.

T: " kalpi... are u a lesbo?, she asked.

K: " WHAT??, she asked giving an unbelievable look.

P: " yeah.. this boss of urs... man... he's hot.. scolding hot for god's sake...

K: " don't exaggerate ok?, she said giving a bore look.

T: " that guy can put those male models who pose in skimpy underwear to shame ok?, she stated the matter of fact.

P: " and u called him hideous monkey face...

T: " and a peon...

Both look at kalpi giving are you out of ur mind' kinda look.

K: " dont look at me like that.. fine.. he is not as hideous as i described... he is..., she stretched.

Tanvi and pakhi looked at her intently to complete her sentence...

K: " ok... he's ok... average looking guy..., she said shrugging her shoulders.

Pakhi opened her mouth to say something but cut by kalpi.

K: " and what's with if he's handsome or not? He is a complete jerk... seriously... he ruined my whole day..., she half-yelled.

T: " the matter of fact.. he saved ur day by not firing u.. which subsequently would result in u still be unemployed for the 24 hours deadline ur mother gave..and u wouldnt be here sitting on this bed at this very moment wearing that ridiculously childish Donald duck pyjamas if he didnt give u the job...instead of that, u would be sitting on the plane alongside ur mother flying back to ur home which u call a golden cage with a ringmaster called ur dad... so instead of bashing ur super gorgeous boss who has stunning looks with ridiculous names, accept that he is actually ur guardian angel today..., she finished her speech with a huff.

Pakhi looked at her nodding her head vigorously indicating she totally agree with her.

K: " is my Donald duck pyjamas ridiculously childish?, she asked pouting looking down at her pyjamas.

Tanvi and pakhi looked at her unbelievably.

T: " seriously? thats all u heard from my five minutes of unstopping speech? Nothing else?

Kalpi shrugged while pakhi laughed gaining a glare from tanvi which made her stop.

Next morning...

K: " WHAT?, she literally shouted making everyone flinch.

Kalpi, the girls, leela and janvi were at the dining table having the breakfast.

Thats when Kalpi's mother dropped the bombshell that she will be staying there for about month as she has to attend a relative's marriage in 2 weeks time.

K: " but u can go back and then come back after 2 weeks mom... for bunty's (cousin) marriage...

Leela looked at her daughter suspiciously.

K: " what i meant was... who will be taking care of dad back home?, she said gulping.

L: " ur dad will be out of town for a month.. he's going to canada for business.., she said before sipping her orange juice.

Kalpi never expected that her mother will be staying here for a whole month. She thought she could get rid of the job as soon as her mother went back home.. especially her new boss whom her friends think looked like a greek-god to her disagreement.. but if her mother gonna be staying for a month means she has to stay at work for a month at least... adding to that the risk of her mother finding the way she got the job... by faking is very high...

K: " what about... (she hated that these words came out of her mouth)... what about karan? Who will take care of him?

L: " since when u care about ur brother? U two cant stand each other's company not even for 5 seconds... suddenly u care about him.. why?

Kalpi gave a sheepish smile.

K: " nothing.. u know.. he will get involved in trouble a lot... such a trouble maker(she said in low voice)..

L: " he's currently at manchester...college football camp.. wont be back till next month..

K: " oh.. (she thought about some other excuse)... and yeah.. what about..., but she was cut short by her mother.

L: " im staying here for a month kalpana... thats final... everything is taken care of back home..

Kalpi sighed defeated... tanvi, janvi and pakhi silently eat their breakfast while watching the mother-daughter drama.

Sapphire...

K(self talk): " is it normal to feel like i wanna quit the job ready the second day? Work seems like a bigger hell than college..., she was talking to herself while walking towards the lift.

She was in her own little world of misery that she didnt notice someone else entered the lift with her. She had the sulking expression on her face thinking bout her new job and her boss who is no less than a devil. She felt incredibly tired bcs she didn't sleep the night before. She remembered the dreams she had like she was arrested for faking.. she gulped down her fear and shook her head.

K(self talk): " if i keep stressing out like this im gonna end up in a mental asylum..., she said a bit loud thinking she is alone.

"U already possess all the qualities to go to asylum..., a make voice sounded.

Kalpi jumped in fear making her come out of her own world. When she turned to her left, she saw her boss standing there casually with a hand inside his pant pocket while staring ahead. Kalpi narrowed her eyes at the devilish smirk on his face which she really wanted to wipe off.

He was wearing a white v-neck white shirt, black blazer and a jeans. The diamond studded rolex adorning his wrist. She was wearing a pale blue knee length dress with white polka dots. Her hair styled with a half up top knot. She looked too cute and professional as well..

Kalpi decided to keep her mouth shout and mimicked him by looking ahead. There was silence for few seconds till the lift stopped with a jerk.

Kalpi looked around startled while raghav was just calm.

K: " what happened?, she asked with fear gripping her voice.

R: " i think the lift just stopped..., he said narrowing his eyebrows guessing.

K: " what do u mean stopped?, she almost yelled in fear.

Raghav looked at her...

R: " dont worry... maybe some malfunction... they will figure it out..., he said calmly before taking his phone out from his pocket.

R: " no signal.., he mumbled before just pressing the emergency button in the lift still keeping her.

K: " oh no... how come a lift in such a big company like sapphire can malfunction ?, she started breathing rapid.

Raghav looked at her with raised eyebrows.

R: " it happens... they will figure it out in half an hour something... we wont die before that.., he said sarcastically.

K: " of course i will die... this... this... is suffocating... i can..cant breath... "

Thats when he noticed that she is hyperventilating. Maybe she was having panic attack. Beads of sweats covering her face and the sound of her furiously beating heart showed it all..He looked at her face while she frantically looked around panicking...

Within a second she found herself hitting something hard. It took her few seconds to realise that something hard' was her boss's chest. She is in arms.

R: " ssshhh... its ok... ur safe... nothing gonna happen to u i promise.. ok?, he said while calming her while caressing her head.

K: " hmmm.., she just let him calm.

The citrus and woody smell of his body calmed her nerves. And thats when she realised how ripped his body was. She could totally feel those muscled under the shirt.

K(mind talk): " gosh.. he smells so good... and his cologne... i never liked the smell of cologne in any other man... but him... god..., her mind wandered while she closed her with her hands gripping the front of his blazer.

She really felt calm and he really made sure she felt so...

After ten minutes, the lift started working... but she was still in his arms... and he didnt release her as well... when the chiming sound appeared after reaching the floor.

Raghav cleared his throat. She looked up at his face from his chest without breaking the hug.

R: " i know im irresistible but the lift started working a while ago and we reached our floor..., the smug returned to his face.

She widen her eyes and immediately loosen her grip on his blazer before distancing herself from him.

K: " u could have told me.., she snapped.

R: " ur welcome..., he said giving his famous smirk before leaving the lift.

K: "jerk!, she mumbled under breath before following him.
