CHAPTER 8
What's going on with me? Why I am so afraid? That man, no Kalpi don't worry he is just an ordinary patient in hospital passing my room, Kalpi consoled herself. But his smile, that smile and those eyes? I have seen them before, where? She questioned herself.
How is she now? Is she ok? Whom can I call now to know her health? Can I call hospital reception to know about her or can I call Pakhi? No! Why should I call? Why should I know about her? Why Im like this all of a sudden. I dont care about her? Why should I? Raghav comforted his mund and his self talk for unempth time of his return to home from hospital.
All he could think was only about Kalpi. Raghav went to his gym and started his workout just to come out of Kalpi and her thoughs.
Kalpi remembered her dream. Something squeezed painfully inside her. The bandages, his dark skin, his evil look, letting out a gasp, she closed her eyes. Kalpi felt some pain in her head thinking of all this. Pakhi looked over Kalpi while speaking on mobile "Is something wrong Kalpi?".
No just an light headache. Im ok Pakhi.
There was a knock on the door. The door knob turned and walked in a cop.
Hello Miss. Kalpana! How are you now?
Fine Sir. You? here? any thing important?
No no dont panic Miss. Actually came to hospital for an case enquire. Saw your Uncle and Aunt out in doctor's cabin. So just came here. Im really sorry if I disturb you.
No... that's fine. Any improvement in ur investigation.
Don't you feel its too soon to get to your case climax.
What?
I mean we met yesterday and you need the investigation reports today.
I'm sorry.
That's ok! My squad has been investigating on every possible way. We hope to get some clue soon. Kalpana do you know any of your family has come in contact with you after and before your parent's death?
Im not sure, Kalpi replied.

Do you recall what happened before the car crashed? he looked at her with narrowed eyes.
Sighing, she wished to say no, but something was nagging her. That dream, its bothering her. The images, the smell, all that felt to be real. I think that it was a man. He was driving his car with high speed, chasing after us.
How did he look? You saw him? You know him? Anything? Please think...
He had red eyes, black hair...

I don't remember. Suddenly her expression changes and she remembers about the man who passed her room few mintues ago with bandages. I think it was him. He was in hallway, he had the same smile. He looked familiar, she finished lamely.

Raghav was still trying to sleep. But sleep was far away. He rested his head on the board of the bed. He hadn't expected to find her terrifying. Her scream still echoed in his ears. The stretcher pulled away into the ambulance with her in it. He was unable to see her such that. When he returned home, his heart attacked him with many questions and her thoughs. The dark shadow pulled him in, the horrible memories surfaced him, thr sound of the fallen body.
Raghav closed his eyes, crossing his arms, trying to stifle the tremor that evoked him. Once more his mind was occupied with her screams, her arms and her blood. Sun rised. Raghav got ready quickly and went to college soon. Very soon than the other days. He was very earger to see Kalpi and know about her health.
As soon as he reached the campus, he saw Pakhi and Kalpi entering the campus. He nodded to Pakhi and wheeled Kalpi.
Bye Kalpi, Bye Raghav
That wasn't necessary, Kalpi blurted out once Pakhi went. Raghav looked at her, what the heck are you talking about was written in his eyes.
You don't have to follow me all the time. I can take care of myself, she reminded him
Hmmm as in the way you did yesterday. Her eyes turned to glare at him. What's that suppose to mean?
With your current condition, it is impossible for you to take by yourself that too without me, Raghav started walking ahead to open the door for her. He stopped back in surprise when she rolled the wheels of her chair nearly crushing his toes.
So funny! you jerk! Im not some helpless creature waiting for everyone to rescue me, Kalpi huffed. Nodding his head Raghav went to his class.
After the class Kalpi pushed herself out of the classroom. Everyone cleared their way for her. She wheeled herself hating how some people were looking at her. She saw some giggle on her. Stomping her irritation she continued her way. Some people didnot bother to move making her go around when they ignore her asking to move. She felt her arms strain but it would be good practise. She couldn't be pushed by someone for rest of her life. She though that she should start rely on herself. She needed to be strong. She needed to show that she could do things on her own.
Kalpi found Pakhi walking towards her. She though to avoid her
Hey Kalpi, Pakhi said and came running towards her she winced but stopped.
Pakhi and Pakhya caught Kalpi, asking her where is Raghav?
Umm... he is... She mumbled
Sorry to make you wait, Raghav answered for her, emerging from the crowd. Thank you for taking care of Kalpi, Pakhi thanked Raghav whole heartly. Raghav just smiled. Pakhi invited Raghav for lunch with them. Raghav accepted and took the handles of Kalpi's chair and started pushing her way through. They four went to a table and started to have lunch with their chatting.
Kalpi smiled every now and then when Pakhi questioned her something or the other. Raghav was eating quietly and talked only when he is questioned. Pakhi and Pakhya are in their own world later. Kalpi nibbled her lunch, she suddenly felt Raghav's attention on her.
Finally feeling aggravated she stared back "what?"
Hmm... no need of assistance. You have managed well for a couple of hours, Raghav said with straigh face
Kalpi scrowled at him "I managed just fine without you so far.. You jerk
Raghav got up from his seat. Pakhi I will be back before lunch ends, saying so Raghav moved out from caferria without glancing Kalpi back once
Strange! Pakhi exclaimed. Kalpi felt bad of her behaviour.
