CHAPTER 6

The next day she finds herself so confused about her life. She though she would feel better once she is burried herself in her work but it didn't help.

It seems she get more miserable with each passing seconds. So she decides not to think about it. But when we try not to think about something, it becomes the only thing we can think about.

She came out to get some fresh coffee thats when Raghav finds her. At first she was happy to see him. She wants to run up to him, hug him. As soon as the though get into her mind she remembered about Prem. Her mood crashes. She just gave a small smile to Raghav as by greeting him and tries her best not to let him know that something is wrong.

Her halfhearted greeting was accepted by our dashing Raghav. Before Kalpi could react Raghav's arms are around her. She felt she is alive in his presence. Everything she didn't feel with Prem the dinner night before. She is feeling in shades now. Suddenly she remembers that she is engaged to someone else and she comes to her sense. Breaking down the hug and press a hand against his chest gently pushing which causes him to loosen his hold.

Confusion is etched on his face and her heart breaks because of it and because of what she is about to do. She is at war with herself. There is part of her that is telling her to end this all. Whatever it is with Raghav no matter the consequence to him or his friendship. But there is another part of her that is screaming at her not to break his heart even if it seems like the right thing to do.

He is looking at her as though he can sense the war in her heart. As if he knows what is coming but refuses to believe it. Swalling the huge lumps in her throat and mustering courage she has. She tells him how much she loves him, how much his friendship has meant and continues to mean to her. Then she apologizes for leading him on making him think that there is something more between them than friendship. She also said him that it has to end and it would be good idea if they kept their distance and didn't see each other for a little while.

She was amazed as she manages to say it, let alone keep from crying while she does. She watches his face crumple and it is hurt sadness and grief her words cause him. She can feel her heart shatter into million pieces as she watches his eyes, so full of life, love and joy moments ago turns gray, lifeless and dull. He doesnot say anything and can't and she knows why... She just tore his heart out and stompted on it. Raghav was trying his best to put on a brave face. He doesnot want her to know how deeply she has wounded him.

With a slow nod of his head, he turns around and walks away, his shoulders slumped and head down. She just wants to chase after him and beg him to stay and tell him that she has made a terrible mistake. She wants to propose herself and her love for him. She wants to peppers his face with kisses.

Instead she stands there numb and watches as he disappears around a corner perhaps from her life. Tears sting her eyes and stain her cheeks.
