Chapter 17

Seeing Kalpana with Akash, Raghav was shocked and said in his mind, why is Kalpana with that man? Who is he? Raghav got angry and thought, how could she trust someone so easily? Why is she taking a ride with that man? She already faced that stupid Vicky and after that incident how could she be alone with a man? "If driver is not available then she could take a taxi." Raghav said with disappointment. "I know it was my strict order that she will not transport alone but she is not a kid that she has to obey me all the time."

Akash dropped Kalpi at home and then left from there. Kalpi heard that Raghav reached India during this afternoon. Kalpana was so happy that now she could talk to Raghav and sort out everything. "I can't stand this anymore." Kalpana said with pain, "I can't see him ignoring me all the time."

Seeing Raghav entering home, Kalpana went toward him to say hi but he just ignored Kalpana and told one of the maids to serve him food as he was hungry. Saying so Raghav went to freshen up. Kalpana felt a little bad that without saying anything to her Raghav left. Kalpana set up the dining table and was waiting for Raghav. Seeing Kalpana near the dining table, Raghav told the same maid to bring the food in his bed room as he had to work on his laptop while eat his dinner. Kalpana took the tray and walked to his bedroom. She was about to step into his room but stopped and left from there. Raghav noticed that and remembered that he told her not to come to his room in his presence. Then he saw that a maid entered into his room and served his food.

Next evening Raghav called everyone in the living room to get their present he brought from UK. Kalpana was there too. Raghav distributed presents to everyone except Kalpana. The whole time while distributing, Raghav was watching Kalpana with the corner of his eyes. She felt a little bad that Raghav brought gifts for driver, maids, gardener, and care takers but nothing for her, she just let it go and left from that room.

At night Kalpana was thinking about Raghav and decided to talk to him tomorrow. Next morning Kalpana was waiting outside Raghav's room to talk to him. Seeing him coming outside Kalpana asked, "Raghav ji, would you please give me five minutes? I need to talk..." but Raghav didn't let her complete her sentence and told the maid to tell the driver to pull the car from the garage as he is getting late for office. Saying so he left the house. In the evening Kalpana decided to talk to Raghav again. She saw him working on his laptop in the living room. She went toward him. Seeing Kalpana Raghav took the phone and dialed Sammy's number and started talking about a project. Seeing him busy she left from there as well.

Two days passed like this and Kalpana couldn't talk to Raghav. He always showed that he was busy whenever he was at home. One day Kalpana was working on an assignment which was due the next day and found some parts difficult for her. Then she went to Raghav for help but was hesitating to ask for help because of the behavior from the past few days and then left from there. She was thinking of who to ask for help and then she remembered Akash as he was an Economics student and he might be the best person to ask. Then she dialed Akash's number. Raghav was passing Kalpana's room to go to his room and stopped hearing Kalpana saying, "...Thank you so much Akash ji, if you wouldn't have helped me then I don't know what would happen," she added, "Yah sure, I will ask you if I get stuck again." Saying so she cut the call. Hearing Kalpana's conversation with Akash Raghav felt jealous and then left from there.

On one weekend Kalpana decided to buy some books. Akash had nothing to do so he agreed to help Kalpana as she doesn't know the places where she could buy. Kalpana went to tell Raghav that she was going outside with Akash but he was not in his room then she thought he might be in the bathroom then she left from there as she got call from Akash that he was waiting outside of the house. Kalpana came outside and fixed herself on the motorcycle and both of them left from there. Raghav was watching this from his balcony as he was reading the newspaper. After that incident Raghav totally stopped showing his face to Kalpana. Raghav left home before Kalpana woke up and came home but directly to go to his bedroom.

A week passed like this, on Sunday Raghav was home and spent time with Aarav in Raghav's bed room. Kalpana was cleaning Aarav's room by herself. She took all Aarav's cloths which were too small and went to next door where Kalpana's room was to put them in a suitcase. Then she saw the suitcase on the top of Almirah. She stood on a stool to get the suitcase but the Almirah was too high for her and she was struggling to get it and then she tippy-toed and then fell from the stool. In the meantime Raghav came to Aarav's room to put him on his crib as he was sleeping. Hearing the sound from Kalpana's room Raghav ran to her room and saw Kalpana was struggling to sit up but couldn't as her leg was hurting. Raghav walked toward her and took her in his arm and laid her down on her bed. He sat opposite side of the bed resting Kalpana's leg on his lap and started messaging her leg saying, "How many times have I told you ha not to do this thing. See the consequence of not listening to me." Seeing concern in his eyes Kalpana was so lost as she forgot her pain in her leg. Kalpana's eyes were stuck onto his eyes. Seeing her looking at him Raghav also looked at her with a mixture of emotions. Both were eye locked for a while then started talking with their eyes.

Kalpana: If you were so concerned about me then why are you hurting me?

Raghav: You don't know Kalpana, how much I am hurting myself by hurting you.

Kalpana: Why are you avoiding me? I was dying to talk to you.

Raghav: I came to sort out everything

Kalpana: Then what is stopping you?

Raghav: You seemed like you're busy with something else. You don't need me anymore.

Raghav left the room and after a while he came back with pain killer and ointment. He applied the ointment on her feet and gave the pain killer to Kalpana and told her to take rest.

Kalpana was sleeping due to her pain killer. Raghav went to her room to check if she was okay. He was about to leave the room then saw her phone was ringing. Raghav picked up her phone and said "Hello." "Hi, could I speak to Kalpana please?" Raghav heard someone saying from the other side. "Who is calling?" Raghav asked. "This is Akash." Akash answered. "Kalpana is sleeping now." "Please call her later." Saying so Raghav cut the call.

After one hour Akash called Kalpana again. Raghav picked up the phone again seeing Akash. "Hi has Kalpana woke up?" Akash asked. "No, she is still sleeping." Raghav replied and cut the call. Akash called Kalpana again. Seeing Akash's name Raghav said in his mind, why is he calling her again and again knowing that she is sleeping? Raghav picked up the phone and said, "She is still sleeping, I will tell her to call you when she wakes up." Hearing Raghav Akash said with concern, "Is Kalpana okay, I meant to say, she is sleeping at this time and for so long?" "She had a little fracture and took pain killer that's why she is sleeping due to the pain killer." Raghav said. Hearing Raghav Akash said with worry, "Fracture? How did it happen?" Hearing Akash so concerned Raghav got confused and said it is nothing just a little pain." Saying so Raghav cut the call. Raghav was now thinking about Akash and said in his mind, why was Akash so concerned about Kalpana? Why was he so worried for Kalpana? No one needs to worry for her. I am here for Kalpana.

Raghav was standing by the window in Kalpana's room. He saw Kalpana's phone ringing again. He got angry seeing Akash's name then he decided not to pick up the call. After few minutes Kalpana started getting messages from Akash. Now Raghav was extremely angry and deleted all Akash's messages and switched off the phone. Then he left Kalpana's room.

After two days Kalpana was totally fine. Kalpana was smiling thinking about Raghav and how he was so worried for her when she fell and how he took care of her. Then she said in her mind with demand, you still care for me but not in mood to talk to me, akroo kahika.

The next day Akash came to see Kalpana in Singhania Mansion without informing Kalpana. Raghav wasn't home. Kalpana thanked Akash for this. Kalpana and Akash were talking while having coffee in the living room. Raghav came home and seeing Kalpana with the same man he saw them on the motorcycle, Raghav thought in his mind, is this the same guy who kept calling Kalpana and was showing concern when she was sick? Seeing Raghav Kalpana and Akash stood up and Kalpana introduced Akash with Raghav saying, "Raghav ji, this is Akash ji." "And Akash ji, this is Raghav ji." "Glad to meet you sir." Akash greeted extending his hand. Taking Akash's hand with a hand shack Raghav replied to him saying, "Same to you." "And please have your seat." "I will be back." Raghav left from there and went to freshen up. Raghav came back and took a seat face to face with Akash. Raghav told Kalpana to serve food for both him and Akash so that Raghav can talk to Akash private. Raghav wanted to make sure that this guy is not harmful to Kalpana. Kalpana should have her own world where she could meet people but he couldn't let Kalpana make any friendship with any random guy. Raghav has full confidence on Kalpana but couldn't trust anyone except himself for Kalpana. Raghav then asked hundreds of questions as how Akash met Kalpana, how long he knows her, his education, where does he live, what was his profession, what was his father's profession...

Raghav hesitated to ask if Akash likes Kalpana or not. Then he took all the courage and was about to ask but was interrupted by Kalpana that dinner was ready. Raghav was angry on himself as he couldn't get to know about it. Now this became a new tension and was bothering him a lot.

Singhania Constructions

Raghav was discussing with Sammy on a project. Raghav heard his phone rang and picked up and said, "Hello, who is this?" "Hi sir, this is Akash." Akash said "Did you remember me? I came to your house to meet Kalpana?" Hearing Akash on the other side Raghav thought in his mind, why did he call me? Then said, "Yah, I remembered you," "So tell me, how I can help you?" "Sir, I would like to meet you, would you please give me some time?" Akash asked. Hearing Akash Raghav said, "Regarding...?" "Regarding Kalpana." Akash replied. Hearing Kalpana Raghav became restless then said, "Okay meet me tomorrow around 5 in my office." Saying so Raghav cut the call. Seeing Raghav restless Sammy asked, "Raghav what is the matter? You seemed so tensed. And who was this guy talking about Kalpana?" "His name is Akash and wants to talk to me about Kalpana." Raghav replied. Hearing Raghav Sammy said, "To, inmey tention kaha se agaya, let him talk." Saying so Sammy left the cabin.

Whole night Raghav couldn't sleep thinking about Akash's word, "Regarding Kalpana." What was he going to discuss about Kalpana?

Next day Akash came to meet Raghav. Both of them were sitting face to face in Raghav's cabin. Both of them were hesitating to talk. Both of them were silent. After few minutes Raghav broke the silence and said, "So, Mr. Akash, what were you talking about Kalpana?" Hearing Raghav Akash hesitated little bit then said, "I don't know how to start or what you will think." Seeing Akash hesitating, Raghav assured "please." Then Akash took all the courage and said, "Sir, I love Kalpana." "When I saw her first time, her simplicity, innocence, golden heart which she carries pulled me toward her and I fell in love with her." "I never thought of anyone, she is the only one who my heart yearns for." "I love her and I can never love anyone apart from her." "I would like to marry her." "Would you please give me her hand?" "Would you please give me permission to marry her?"
