Part 1:
Few months back...
Kalpi was heading back home from her work and suddenly her eyes fell on a body lying by the riverside unconscious. She went near him and found him alive. She carried him to the nearest hospital with the help of the village people.
Kalpi visited him at the hospital which meant she couldn't go to work those few days as the doctor might need her help anytime she thought. As time passed he grew conscious and the doctor explained everything that happened with him during the past few days. Kalpi entered the cabin and was so pleased to see him okay. Before leaving the cabin the doctor told Kalpi now you may take him home and take good care of him. When the doctor left the cabin Kalpi went near him and asked, "How are you feeling?" He replied with a smile, "Feeling better, I heard from the doctor that you were the one who saved me and took care of me." "I have nothing to say beside thank you," he added. "I'm Raghav and I live in Mumbai, may I know your name please?" he asked. "Kalpana," she replied. "Saab You are still sick and I know where you live is very far from here so would you mind if I take you to my home until you get better?" Raghav agreed with her as he was still feeling very weak.
As he entered into the house he noticed the house was not decorated well and had very few furniture. His eyes fell on a picture hanging on the wall; it had a woman, a man and a little girl in between them. "They are my parents," Kalpi said from behind him. "No one at home?" Raghav asked. "They are no more, when I was only four years old my mom died with pneumonia and my dad took care of me after that. But one day my dad also died of an accident when I was 16." A tear escaped from her eyes which were not unnoticed by Raghav. "I'm so sorry" Raghav said feeling her pain as she wasn't the only one who went through this.
"Sorry, I forgot to ask you how you ended up in the river," Kalpi asked. "I was actually driving and lost my control, I found out my brake was not working and fell from the cliff," he replied.
As days passed Kalpi took good care of Raghav though he is a stranger to her. He started to get cured rapidly every day. Raghav sometimes noticed that Kalpi would try to give him the good food while she was empty stomached, she would let him sleep on the bed while she would sleep in the balcony. Raghav felt bad for Kalpi as she gave everything to him while she suffered. As he thought about it daily he knew he had to do something for Kalpi for all her kindness.
After few days something striked Raghav's mind, how could I have forgotten her? "Kalpi, could you manage a phone call? I have to let my wife know I am here, she must be really worried."
