Chapter 11
Kalpi stands on the balcony and stares out in the horizon, lost in thought, oblivious to the weather. Ragav walks into the room... Sees her on the balcony... Lost in thought... Smiling, he shakes his head, grabs a shawl and walks towards her. It had become a habit of late.
Sensing Ragav as he wraps the shawl around her shoulders, Kalpi leans in and says softly, "it is so peaceful out here isn't it. I just love looking at the stars twinkle away." Ragav wraps his arms around her shoulder and says, "hmmm... What are you thinking about?" Smiling into the sky, she replies, "I am just thinking about these three months. They have flown by... Haven't they Ragav?" He doesn't say anything, just silently stands there, savouring this moment, for very rarely did Kalpi allow him to come this close. Over the months, they had found a balance... The awkward moments had disappeared... And through mutual agreement they decided to ignore the underlying sexual tension between them... Somehow without actually saying the words... They headed for a comfortable platonic friendship.
Caressing her upper arms, Ragav asks, "tired?" "Hmmm,..." Kalpi replies. Ragav lowers one of his hands and places it on her womb, shepards tarted showing, asking, "did the baby trouble you today." "No. Today was a good day," Kalpi replies. Satisfied with her answer, he says, "come tet us go to bed."
Seeing her swollen feet, he says, "you have started neglecting yourself again." Watching him massage her feet, Kalpi says, "I had classes all day at university. I did not have time to raise my feet today." Closing her eyes, enjoying the massage, Kalpi says drowsily, "Ragav this feels wonderful... I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow." He asks, "what time?" "Half eleven," she relpies. "I shall clear my diary," he states.

Dr Shah, Kalpi's OBGYN smiles and says, "everything looks fine. Both of you are looking healthy." Kalpi smiles and thanks her as she dresses. "What's on your mind?" Dr Shah asks. Kalpi shakes her head, replying, "nothing." Hesitates, then whispers, "umm... Lately I have this urge to jump my husband all th time." Blushing, Kalpi comtinues, her eyes darting left and right, making sure they are alone, "Dr Shah is this normal." Laughing, Dr Shah replies, "it is quite normal. Some women tend to get more hornier during their pregnancy. It is a hormonal thing. Relieved, Kalpi asks, "what should I do? Is there a pill to control it?" Laughing Dr Shah replies, "there is just one cure." Kalpi leans closer, eager to know what the cure is... Dr Shah continues, "jump your husband as often as you want."
Kalpi stares at Dr Shah, stunned into silence, thinking, "oh gosh. How am I to explain the complexities of my marriage?" Instead blushing, she politely smiles as she nods.

Dr Shah watches Ragav and Kalpi leave her office, when she calls out, "Mr Singhania, a moment please." Ragav turns to Kalpi, she says, "I shall wait here." Nodding, Ragav walks into the doctor's office. Deep down worried, thinking, "why does she want to talk to me. Oh gosh is there a complication."
Dr Shah cleared her throat and says reassuringly, "there is nothing to worry about. a lot of first time fathers think that having sex with their pregnant wife may hurt the child. I just want to reassure you that this is just a myth. In fact science recommends having sex because mothers to be tend to have very strong urges." Ragav sits there stunned, thinking, "huh. Is she telling me to have sex with Kalpi? Did Kalpi ask her to tell me?" Dazed, he thanks the doctor and walks out.

Kalpi lay on her side, unable to sleep, her gaze fixed on the middle of the bed... Where Ragav held her hand in his... A habit he had formed... Seeking her touch in his sleep... Sighing deeply, she raises her gaze to his face... Silently studying his features, a risk she would never take if he were awake... Her breathe catching as she thinks, "I love you so much." Tears fall quietly as she wonders... Would it be wrong of me to wish this marriage is real... Would it be wrong to be selfish and wish that Ragav loves me too... Would it be wrong if I was to be selfish and make the most of our time together... To have some cherished memories to remember him by before Pakhi comes back... Before he forgets me...
Not wanting to startle her, Ragav asks softly, "why are you crying?" Kalpi stares at him wondering how he knows for his eyes are shut. Ragav slowly caresses her palm with his thumb, his eyes shut, asks again softly, " why are you crying?" She replies, "I am not crying."
Ragav opens his eyes, lifts his upper body off the bed and leans towards her... He traces a tear with the tip of his finger, licks it and says, "hmmm... Salty. Definitely tears." Reading the glint of mischief in his eyes, Kalpi yelps and says, "don't you tickle me." As she tries to fight him off... Laughing and squealing... Soon they were in the same position that they were in three months ago... The morning after their marriage.
Ragav patiently waits for Kalpi to get off him and walk away... To his surprise, she whispers, "kiss me."
Startled, his gaze filled with passion, Ragav asks, "are you sure?" Kalpi nods in answer. He whispers, "I won't stop at a kiss." "Who is asking you..."Kalpi says. Ragav kisses her... Drowning out the rest of her words.
