CHAPTER-4

S: I need to speak to him about Maya, and make him agree my relationship with maya .if he agree then he will pursue my parents and they will also agree.You know raghav my parents are after my life for getting married since I have come to India and they want a typical india housewife material for my bride unlike someone running a successful business with her father ...Like Maya...i love maya...i will do everything to make her mine.(Sammy again looks at Maya and they have a eyelock.

Raghav realizes it's time he goes from there as it's too late and the love birds needed some time with each other.he gets up from sofa and says

R:My dear friends enjoy your rest of the evening,I am leaving for the day.see you all tomorrow.bye.

Bothe Maya and Sammy bids him bye too.

Raghav goes to his car and thinks about Kalpi and again misses her too much,looks at the phone,it's already 10,thinks in his mind that it's too late to call Kalpi,what will her parents think.He shrugs his mind and drives his car.

Kalpi on the other hand is waiting for Vithal ,Kamala and Pakya to speak about the new development, but all three of them are stuck in rain near Kanasa hills as they had gone for offering prayer to lord Ganesha.She makes up her mind to concentrate on the presentation which she needs to send Raghav tomorrow.

She opens the laptop and realizes that she does not have the password. She calls up Raghav. Raghav picks up her call happily.

R:Hi sweetheart ...not getting sleep?I too miss you so much, want to see you now.

K:No hum...ya...I need the password for the laptop.

R:I love you Kalpana

K:hmmm...I know that I need the password

R:yes that is the password only I love you Kalpana

K:oh...okkk

R:You did not answer me,I want to see you.By the way did you speak to Vitthal sir and Kamala Maa?

K:No ..i did not,as they are not there at home,they were stuck in rain near the Ganesh temple and have just started from there,it will take them another 2 hrs atleast to reach home.

R:So my darling ...queen is alone at home...shd I come ...I can u help with the presentation

K:Please ...oh no/...what will the chawl people think...no please do not.

R:ok ...ok calm down...I am not coming.

K:Good night Raghav,see you tomorrow over lunch.

R:only good night?

K:I LOVE YOU...bye

R: that's good, kisses the phone and disconnects the call.

Kalpi puts the phone near her heart and smiles. Then she concentrates on the notes made for the presentations and prepares the same.

Raghav reaches home and eats his dinner and thinks of Kalpi and sleeps on his bed, wanting to dream about Kalpi.

Vitthal,Kamala and Pakya are in the bus,suddenly the bus stops with a jerk.In the bus there are not too many passengers.Every one looks amazed.The driver yells:

Dri:Look Vishal da(TO the conductor)there is a lady on the road.Is she dead or alive.

Kamala ,Vitthal also get down from the bus and goes near the lady,the lady is good looking,fair ,wearing a very costly mangalsutra and holding a small purse in her hand and is unconscious.The conductor opens the purse from her hand and there is a torn piece of paper.Vittal swithes on the tourch on the mobile and reads the piece of paper,it says the complete address of singhania chawl except for the name which is torn.Vitaal says to Kamala

V:The address is of Singhania Chawl,

Ka:may be her relatives stay over there,there is a head injury,lets take her there and then lets see afterthat.

V:Yes we should,she seems to be from a good family.look at her mangalsutra,it's made up of diamonds.but who she is related in the chawl.

K:No sure,lets take her.

They take the lady along with her and procceds for home.

Kalpi finishes her presentation and sleep off on the table.She hears her name and Kamala's voice.

KA:Kalpi beta,open the door

Kalpi gets up to open the door and sees her family with a middle aged lady.

Kamala,Vittthal explains her everything and ask her to serve dinner.Kalpi arranges the food and thinks,who this lady could be and she also need to tell about job in Maya mam's company. Everyone eats dinner and arranges to sleep when the lady says.

Lady:Water,Water I need water ...where are you Chintoo...chintoo.

Kamala rushes and gives her water,she sleeps again.

Everyone sleeps, but sleep was away from Kalpi's eyes,she was twisting and turning. Then she goes to Balcony and looks at the sky. The rain, the cloud is all gone and sky is clear.She thinks in her mind,hope things will be better for me from today onwards and I reach my fistful of sky,she smiles thinking about Raghav and his assurance for being with her always.

Vittal comes from behind and puts his hand on her shoulder and says

V: What happened ,worried for something my princess.

K:oh no,I just wanted to tell you ...I mean inform you that I have got though another job in M-M constructions pvt limited and which is headed by Ms Maya Mishra,you know Mr Mishra who was earlier secretary to Mr Singhania in Singhania company.Ms Maya is his daughter and is a good friend in Raghav sir.I will join maya mam from tomorrow and you know Baba,I need to go to Singapore next week with Maya mam for a project,I am so happy baba.

Kalpi hugs Vitthal.

Vitthal has tears in his eye,he says.

V:great news Kalpi,very good news,Go ...fly achieve your dream our blessing s are with you,I see Kamala's dream being fulfilled soon.I am so happy today.Ee Kamala wake up...

Vitthal goes inside the house and wakes up Kamala,Pakya

V:get up kamala ,I need to share a very good news with you.

Kamala wipes here eyes and gets up.Vitthal tells her everything,Kamala with tearful eyes comes to Kalpi and hugs her

KA:I know you will not let us down,do well my best wishes are with you.I think this old lady is very lucky for us,look we met her and you got thought this job and an opportunity to go to Singapore.

V:Now come and sleep tomorrow is going to be a big day for you.

Morning:

Kalpana wakes up all happy and gets ready ,touches everyone's feet including the unknown old lady and is about to leave when Kamala stops her.

KA:Take your tiffin and go bte

K:No Aai,I have a lunch meeting,I will not take Tiffin today.

V:Now she will have big lunch meetings in office ,so stop giving her tiffins...You go Kalpi,else you will be late

Vitthal is very happy and comes to kamala and Hugs her.

V:I see Our dreams will be fulfilled soon.

Ka:Same here,let me call Pakhi and share this news she will be ahppy,I also needs to give her the Prasad.

V:Angrily...Kalpi told you na,not to tell her all these so why to tell pakhi about this,let kalpi handle this thing herself...by the way we need to take her (pointing towards the lady) to hospital, get ready, I will drop you and pakya and from there I will go to work.get ready fast.

KA:Yes yes..you are right,let me get ready soon.

Maya's house:

Maya and Sammy are on Maya's bed,Sammy is still hugging maya in sleep.Maya wakes up and so is Sammy.Sammy smiles and says

S:Did you like it yesterday maya

M:((Shy)I love you so much cannot wait to be with you every day, every morning .

S:It will happen soon,I will speak to my uncle today and then we will get married.

Sammy grabs his phone to see time and jumps from the bed

S:oh no...Maya it's 8am and look there are 8 missed call from Uncle...oh no,I have a meeting with Raghav's clients and my formal clothes are in my house,what do I do,let me call Raghav ...

M:o h no...Yes please call him,I also need to call Kalpana that I will meet her at 10 instead of 9,what will she think of me,oh my god...

Kalpi reaches bus stop and is waiting for her bus,when she sees a big Mercedes car stops near her,then she sees Raghav who is smiling at her and though his eyes inviting her to get into the car. Kalpi shyly gets into the car and tries to put the seat belt. The seat belt is stuck she is unable to do so. Raghav leans on her and ties the seat belt,While doing so,he brushes his lips on her and says

R:Good morning ,I hope everyday the seat belt gets stuck in the corner like this.

Kalpi is shy,she looks down and smiles.

R:Lets go,I will drop you first and then go to office.

Sammy dials Raghav and Maya dails Kalpi,Raghav and Kalpi both pick their phones,while Sammy tells raghav that he will be late,raghav could hear maya talking to Kalpi .He laughs,where as kalpi does not realize though she hears some noise in the background but thinks that she must have called from a public place.

R:oK Sammy,I understand you had a wonderful time with Maya last night, and I had postponed the morning client meeting to afternoon 3pm today so just relax.

S:Thanks Raghav

R:Anytime...anything for you and Maya...I am happy for you.

Sammy disconnects the phone and comes to Maya and hugs her

S:Raghav is a such a sweet heart he had shifted the meetings to afternoon today...so we have some more time my darling...should we get ready together.

M:oh no...no...no sammy

S:Oh yes...yes maya

Saying this he dragged maya to her bathroom.

Kalpi had finished her call with Maya and when she hears Sammy having wonderful time with Maya,she gets all shy, thinks in her mind, how can maya mam spend a night with Sammy sir before being married.Hope Raghav does not propose the same to her.she pays to god...Deva please save me.

R:What happened to you, worried? Thinking about Sammy and Maya

Kalpi nods and is shy

R:You know It's common is US ,people spend a lot of time with each other before marriage also.Do not worry I will not tell that to you...but if you are keen I do not mind.(smiling naughtily)...ok leave it ...By the way did you speak to your parents on the project and the trip to Singapore

K:Yes,they were very happy.

Raghav smiles and soon they reach the office complex, Kalpi says bye and takes raghav's hand in her hand and kisses it and says have a nice day. Then without looking back she runs inside the office building. Raghav smiles and says oh ...what a start...all the best to me.

In the office Raghav gets busy with work and Sammy comes by 11am .Raghav discusses about the projects and however he keeps glancing at kalpi's desk.He is missing her.Sammy realizes that and says

S:She will be with you soon ,have faith in her.By the way I have spken to my uncle and gave all details about Kalpana after referring to her personal file.He will let me know in next 2 days on her reasult after checking with evaluation section.

R:Thanks yaar,god bless you.

On the other hand Kalpi is busy with Maya,Maya introduces her with her office staff and they all greets her.Maya's secretary Priya shows Kalpi her little cabin, which is small but very peaceful to concentrate on work. There is a big table for making designs and drawings.

She is happy but she misses Raghav too,she kept glancing at her cell phone thinking Raghav will call her.

It's near lunchtime that Raghav realizes that he needs to inform staff in office that Kalpi has resigned and then she has joined Maya's company,he tells Sammy to do the same.

Sammy sends out an email to all staffs on this.Pakhi gets to know of the same and comes running to Sammy.

P:Sammy sir,when this happened ,Kalpi resigned from here,oh no... how I am going to work,who will help me now.

S:She is always available on phone ,you can call for help if you need,by the way for today's presentations she has done the the ppt and sent through Raghav's laptop, please get the same uploaded in the hotel PC where we have the presentation, Kalpi will also come but she will come from Maya's company side.

P:Laptop...kalpi?

S:Oh yes she came back late from her day long meeting yesterday and it was raining and getting late so I had given her Raghav's Laptop to work on the same. Morning she gave me the laptop at the parking .so just upload the ppt in hotel, the presentation is at 3-30pm,do not be late.

P:kalpi ...all this happened and she did not tell me anything neither Kamala Maa?

Pakhi picks her phone and calls Kamala.

P:I am upset with you Kamala Maa,You have started hiding things from me.

Ka:Pakhi beta...thing is that I am in the hospital one of my relative is not well so I will call and tell you in the evening.

P:Oh no...it's ok Maa,you need any help?

KA:No beta it's fine.I am fine.It's just that late in the night Kalpi told us on the new job and since morning we are in the hospital with Tai so did not speak to you.

P:Oh hh...Ok Kamala ma,take care.I will come and meet you on Sunday.

Kamala disconnect the call and thinks how innocent Pakhi is.She is so good,Kalpi is unnecessarily hiding things from her.

Kalpi calls Raghav after waiting endlessly for his call

K:You have forgotten me?(complaining tone)

R:No dear I am at the parking,pls come I was about to call you.

Kalpi picks up her files and goes down through the lift,she comes out the lift and dash,she collides with Prem,her files are on the ground.

K:What is all this Prem,cannot you see.

Pr:Stop it you moron...you collided to me,just pick up your files and go ...by the way how come you are here in this building?

K:None of your business?

Kalpi picks her files and goes out,she sits in Rgahv's car and goes.Prems observes this from distance

Raghav singhania is with Kalpi going together in lunch time.He calls up Pakhi and informs her that Kalpi is outside office and going with Raghav.

P:So what...Sammy Sir and Maya have also gone with him.They have a meeting,Bhai Kalpi has joined Maya's company.

Prem thinks in his mind,Kalpi is now in Maya s company. So I need to keep an eye on this chawl walli also.

Kalpi and Raghav goes to the same hotel, where the presentation is post lunch and goes to the India restaurant, while Maya and Sammy went to the continental restaurant.Raghav orders food as per Kalpi's taste and both have their food.Kalpi is very conscious and is eating slowly,remembering how raghav fed her ice cream yesterday.

R:Wht happened,how is food.are you remembering yesterday's lunch and the sweet dish mrs Singhania

Kalpi is shy she nods her head and says

K:I was missing you yesterday also.

R:I was missing you too (holds her hand)Just wait for some days,I will make sure you reach your parent's dream and we be together forever. I will make this happen. Do not worry sweet heat.

Kalpi smiles and looks at him and they have a eyelock.Sammy and Maya comes back after lunch and meet them at the Indian restaurant and finds them in trance. He waves his hands and says

S:Wow what a lovely lunch you are having Raghav.

Raghav and Kalpana both comes out of the trance and both are blushing. Maya says

M:Oh my god,Raghav ...stop being a teenager lover boy, stop blushing, you both are looking like red cherry with blueberry.Now it's time for the presentation with client?

Raghav looks at Sammy ,Sammy says

S:Ya Raghav...I had given Pakhi all details she would have loaded, I will present the ppt to client. By the way thanks Kalpana the ppt was really good,I hope clients like the same and we get the contract.

All 4 goes to the conference room. Raghav and Maya go to meet the clients, Sammy goes up the dias and find the ppt not there in the computer attached to the same.He is all worried and calls Pakhi and gets to know that she is tuck in the traffic and she forgot to mail the ppt to client for uploading the same .Sammy is really worried. Kalpi gets up from her chair realizing something is not right with Sammy and understands the entire chaos. She gives the notes to Sammy and draws the ppt in sheets of paper seeing which he can draw the same and present to the group.

After an hour ,The clients announce the presentation, the 1^st one is from Raghav's company. Sammy is now confident after speaking to Kalpana. He presents without the ppt, but draws the things on the white board and makes the presentation more valuable. Presenters present one by one, after 4^th presentation pakhi arrives at the venue and goes to Sammy and apologies him, Sammy gives sten looks to her. Raghav and Maya are sitting with the client in the front sheet and Kalpi who was sitting with Sammy in the third row, holds his hand and reassures that his presentation was good and surely Raghav is going to get the project. Pakhi sees her holding Sammy's hand and thinks apparently Kalpi and Sammy are having an affair and smiles in her mind and thinking of telling the same to Kamala maa on Sunday. Then there is presentation from Prem also. Post all the ppts,the announcement happens and Mr Kamath from client side

Mr Kamath:I am truly impressed mr Singhania,your staff is so dedicated and so good ,they know each details of the project by heart, without a computer power point also Mr Samar could explain each details of the project to us in such detail.,Congrats you have got the project.Maya stands up and hugs Raghav and Pakhi sees this from distance and gets really jealous .Sammy is thrilled ,jumps from his chair and picks Kalpi and twirls her in the air and says thanks Kalpana you saved us,thank you...thank you so much.Kalpi says

K:Get me down Sammy sir...it's ok,it was my duty...nothing more than that,she sees tears in sammy's eyes.

Sammy gets her downs and says

K:You are a true friend of raghav in need ,anything for you .

Pakhi sees this from a distance and thinks wow kalpi,Sammy loves you so much.Hope Raghav loved me but he is glued to Maya now,this maya,how do I get rid of her.

Raghav and Maya looks at Sammy and Kalpi.Raghav feels proud to know that it's because of Kalpi Sammy presented so well that they got the project.He looks at Kalpi and both stare at each other not realizing the fact that they are in the conference room full of people.Maya realizes the same and pulls Raghav

M:Raghav ...lets go,do not stare at Kalpana like this there are lot of people around.

Raghav realizes and goes out of the conference room and waits for Kalpana and Sammy.

Prem is looking at Maya and thinks oh Mr singhania is going around with Maya,ok I will teach him a lesson now.one by one all the projects are being won by him,our business is going so slow now a days all because of him.

Pakhi comes to Raghav and says

P:I am sorry sir,I wll not repeat this mistake again ,pls forgive me

R:Angrily...please leave from here and I do not want to speak to you

P:Sorry sir,pls...forgive me

R:Please do not irritate me ,just go.

P:I am really sorry and holds his hand.

Raghav shrugs his hand and says

R:What's all this...meet me tomorrow in the office,we need to change your projects, I do not think you are capable of big projects ,I will assign you something else...just leave from here .i do not want to talk to you.

Pakhi runs out of the hotel crying.

Maya comes near Raghav and says

M:Calm down Raghav ,now that you love Kalpana ,just leave this female ...just treat her an employee only,do not expect too much from her,she is not that intelligent,but I wonder how she topped the exams and Kalpi failed.

Just then Sammy and Kalpana comes out the conference hall .Sammy says

S:Raghav,Maya I m very happy today,it's all because of Kalpana...I want to take you all today for dinner

M:No lets throw a party at my house?

R:No my house ...because my company has got the project

S:why do not we make it a big celebration and I want to say thanks to Kalpana in front of everyone and give her a farewell party as she is now no longer part of Singhania group.

R:Wow that's cool,so today is Wednesday ...so on Saturday night?...send invitations to all office crowd and also Maya invite your office people too for the welcome party of Kalpana.

M:That's cool.

Kalpi is all amused; Raghav observes tears in her eyes.

R: (Feels like taking her in arms and kissing her but controls as they are in a crowded place,He comes near her)It's ok Kalana ,you deserved this,,you are the best,lets go I need to give you a surprise today.Maya,Sammy bye,I am going with Kalpi,you guys carry on, see you tomorrow.

Raghav and Kalpana goes silently to the car and Raghav starts driving.

K:Where are we going Raghav

R: I need to gift you something ,please do not say no it.

K:Ok (Holds his hand)
