Ok let me explain why I made this accusation
The thing that attracted me to this show was the choice of kalpi and the character of kalpi - I had assumed it was the story of a girl from a modest background, a girl who has had to fight for everything in her life, moreover a girl who was dark skinned, and more earthy looking than the pretty and glamorous pakhi. It was unstated, but it was a huge plus for me for kalpi to look like she did, in this fair and lovely advertisement dominated world, where the overarching message always is that to become successful you need to be fair, that fair is lovely.
The fact that Raghav fell in love with kalpi, and not pakhi, who was more from his world, was great, kalpis determination to bring Raghav into her world, made for awesome watch.
The new kalpi by a stroke of CVs pen is rich, and also fair skinned, I am objecting to that. I felt that the replacement is not the issue, as I said it's their prerogative and we don't know why it happened
It's the fact that they have rewritten her as a rich girl all of a sudden, and replaced her with a fairer kalpi. Her struggle, her childhood difficulties, her hard work, all that could have been shown to bear fruit, instead of this plastic surgery script
That's why it's a general statement, that why should her fortune and skin colour change by an accident? Why couldn't the writers have kept to the script of kalpi breaking the corporate glass ceiling by sheer determination and hard work?
I would have loved a kalpi whose restaurant chain went on to become the biggest and that made netu and pakhi who today make derogatory statements about her, acknowledge her as the superior one.
Now she's already a rich and strikingly beautiful just because cvs have changed her into it!
It seems as if the writers are pandering to the conventional mindset!
