Chapter-5


Raghav - he sees kalpi heading her way out...!! He heard her wording her side of story yet his heart isn't in terms with what had got transpired...he again started to re-think and analyse the recent events...last time I spoke to her was...she asked me about mom's decision regarding our marriage...knowing my predicament she herself discontinued the conversation...and me being emotionally drained couldn't comfort her rather had I given her the reasssurance...but knowing her well in and out..she doesn't need any verbal assurance from my side...our hearts speak...we do have a quite comforting space mentally though apart physically...things doesn't seem to be same as they appear...what is it i am missing out here..with all these thoughts he feels suffocated and lossens his tie..kamala maa knows about our love...she even started supporting our relationship lately though..but she did...I know uncle vittal isn't quite ok with me..as a father his indifference towards me is pretty much justified...damn what's going on..kalpi can never do this to me...never in our wildest dreams...where am I going amiss...well that's enough...I'm coming to you kalpi...I know all this isn't real and now that I am very much aware of what you might had gone through...on the sight of me getting down to you with paakhi as my so called wife...it hurts bad kalpi real bad...I am the culprit and will ever be for giving you the life lasting vex...but you...you don't do that..you aren't that way at all..despite being left by me at altar , facing the worst truth of our lives you were the one who still cared about paakhi , you were the one who wronged me using paakhi as my avenge ploy , such were you...that you... getting married to sammy is quite disturbing to be a fact...sammy..how in the world !! would he do that..he knows my unspoken self as well..why'd he do that..he is the one to name my un-named feeelings towards kalpi where in I myself couldn't help... recognize it...since my abroad days , hez been my support system...infact he played the role of my missing family...he knows me well in and out..neither of sammy , kalpi would do this to me...aww.. why am I wasting the time...raghav go man run to kalpi before it gets way too late !!!!

Sammy - he deliberately left the duo alone on the pretence of call..as they both needed the privacy...he was cursing himself to face Raghav his best buddy...that's it sammy get ready for some violence...Raghav would sure whack you black and blue...he might even refrain you and sue you out of this firm...but anything would be fine Raghav as in the end I'd be the real hero garnering all your missing friend ship with bonus as well...what is it if I had to face your wrath temporally...considering you are deprived from the fact of matter...everything and any damn thing would be justified from your behalf..!!he have seen kalpana exiting the office...so he thought it's his time of action...by taking a long breathe he strides to Raghav expecting the unexpected...he saw Raghav is about to leave...in order to put a start to the conversation..on a normal pace he voice outs..yaar are you leaving some where ???


Raghav - he gives sammy a undepictable glare ..!!!

Sammy - i very well know where you'd be heading...but kalpana is as helpless as you are...I wish I could tell you this openly on face...considering to stop Raghav...he initiates his paused conversation...Raghav please calm down...let's talk !!

Raghav - he again gives him gaze...but deep down hez expecting what he wanted to hear from his friend...so he pretends to calm down his raging emotions and gives a slight nod to his friend !!!

Sammy - thanx Raghav...I know what you must be going through...but the fact remains to be a fact after all...we did get married...and you must be facing hell load of difficulty to digest the fact..but I can't help it yaar...she came to me with the proposal...firstly I wasn't in terms later on I gave a thought...I know she can never love me neither any one else like the way she loved you...but she came to me in real bad state and I dint had the heart of denying her...I even questioned her for reasons...she just wanted my answer in a yes or no...I had always found a good friend in her...and my parents being involved as well...I wasn't left with a choice...and it turned out to be yes...she asked us to keep it as subtle as possible and also insisted for privacy...that will be all to say...and yeah you would question me ...am I not supposed to think once before my yes... about you...well to let you know...i did think...and considering the recent events I thought kalpana must be given a fair chance...infact a much deserved chance ...

Raghav -oh just give me a break sammy...deserved chance for what...for choosing you over me...!!! What non sense are you talking...it just seems so phony...I wish you guys had framed a better story rather this crap you and kalpi are enacting to me...I am so done with you guys...and sammy what chance were you stressing on...it isn't any bloody professional deal...that you are asked for and she being the one requesting and i being the one witnessing...for godsake...end this crap right way !!

Sammy - what the hell...Raghav...he stands up with equal rage and decides to confront him...just because you don't believe...it doesn't mean we are acting in the name of marriage...and why we 'd we do that...you did get to see the certificate certifying the needy yet you're hell bent on not accepting the fact...let me tell you the truth...you took kalpana for granted...and you the man whose stuck between fate and destiny...opts to fate rather destiny...likewise I opt to my fate...you better get that my friend.

Raghav - he feels failed all of a sudden...with sammy's words...he just tries to sink in the words with great difficulty...he thinks for a moment...sammy your pacifying adds weight to my doubts...if at all you guys did that for real...you could never ever face me out of guilt...its futile to ponder over things as of now..i can see you are bounded for some reasons...i promise to find out soon...he decides to play with the float...and voice outs with all sarcasm...you guys got married huh...fine...am happy for you guys...!!

Sammy - looks bewildered to Raghav !! Dude you got to be kidding...anyways a few things are best left unsaid...I know you're upto something...I am no less than you after all...am I not friend of yours...on that note he mouths a fake thank you to Raghav ...and even adds a ...I never knew you'd be such understanding...!!!

Raghav - why not sammy...now that you guys equipped me well enough...even i thought one must be given a fair chance indeed...saying so he gives a wry smile out...and yeah I see you're lagged back in work..you might have got a lot to catch up...I'l see you around...keeping personal issues aside work is equally important right !!!!

Sammy - ofcourse Raghav...I'l head back to work now...after moving to his cabin sammy realises that , there's something sure going on in Raghav's mind...we have to be extra careful...thinking that so...he dails out to kalpana knowing she must be worried about his confrontation with Raghav...!!

Kalpi - hello sammy sir , I hope things dint turn out to be worst than expected !!! Is raghav ok ??? Was he rude to you ?? Did he just fire you ?? I mean...please don't offend his reaction sammy sir , to mention it's all because of me , i recite a sincere apology on his behalf sammy sir ...

Sammy - relax kalpana...and please take back your apology...i am in this with all expected / unexpected consequences...at the end it's all for his good...coming back to the point...things here took a complete u - turn...neither was he rude nor did he kicked me out...but one thing is clear...he isn't believing the marriage...guess we under estimated him to some extent...he seems to be suspicious to core kalpana...we have to be all alert...sayin that he goes all pale and mum...as he gets faced to Raghav...

Raghav - ah..sorry came in without a knock...!! Kalpi left this certificate on my desk...just came to drop that for you !!!!

Sammy - with a intention of getting caught but covering up instantly with his witty self...he blurts out it's fine Raghav...between we never knock to enter each other's cabin ...let us not allow smallest of things to change...!!!

Raghav - oh yeah...guess you are on call with kalpi...I eavesdropped the last part of your phone convo...you guys carry on...I will see you around !!!

Sammy - yeah okay...!!

Kalpi - sammy sir...are you still there ???

Sammy - yes kalpana...hope you heard .raghav dropping in...guess he dint heard our whole convo..considering...even if it's heard there is nothing much to worry over...I will make it up to him !!

Kalpi - I wish so ...sir...thank you for every thing.

Sammy - okay kalpana...I will catch you later...will let you know if anything pops out .

Raghav - he paces to n fro in the cabin...what is it sammy telling out to kalpi about being alert ...damn..!!!! Wish i had reached his cabin a few seconds earlier...it's never late..kalpi my love for you isn't weak...I will get to you soon !!

Chapter-6


Raghav - each passing minute started multiplying his restlessness...god...this isn't happening...with a thoughtful hope...should I call kamala maa...yes she'd be the apt person to get to the fact...he dails out to kamala maa with all his hopes high.. !!

Kalpi - aai...it's Raghav...calling...!!! Panicky she hands mobile to her aai ...!!


Kamala - ...kalpi beta...I know we were expecting all of this...and remember we are doing all this to bring out good out of bad...and even almighty will support us...don't worry beta...bad times are passing clouds. I will do my best to you guys...!!!! Saying that she answers the call.


Raghav - kamala maa...I...I wanted to meet you...is it possible for you to meet me now...if it's a yes...no worries...I'd come by ...to your place...!!!


Kamala - raghav baba...i myself wanted to meet you...so glad you initiated it...would you come by to the ganesh temple...!!!


Raghav - thank you kamala maa...yeah sure..i will see you there in couple of minutes.


Kamala - she reaches temple...and prays for well-being of things...and asks god to take care of their children...!! She seats herself on the bench backside of temple...waiting for Raghav to arrive !!!


Raghav - kamala maa thank you once again for coming...!!

Kamala - Raghav baba it's okay...!!

Raghav - kamala maa...what is it with kalpi...she came to me this morning claiming that she's married and that too...to sammy...it's just bizzare for giving it thought alone... and unbelievable kamala maa...I know this isn't true...he catch holds of her hands in a motherly gesture and pleadingly begs her to put him out of this uncertainity...!!


Kamala - raghav baba...kalpi did get married to sammy...that's true !!

Raghav - he looks stunned for once withdrawing his hands back...kamala maa...what's wrong with you..even you're playing along with them...I get it all kamala maa...kalpi is hurt and she wanted me to know how it hurts her ...so shez playing all this na...but she doesn't need to do this at all kamala maa...I know her pain...and it's just matter of time I swear to give her all the happiness in the world...you knew how things were going with me kamala maa...I already am living dire apart from kalpi...and this...

Kamala - all this is true raghav baba...it'd be hard for you to believe...but the fact is it's all true...!!! Humans can't take the truth easily...as they make it and break it as well...it's kalpi's decision and I would support her at any condition...it's lately though... but now come what may...I'd protect my daughter from every odd thing...you better believe all this raghav baba...it's all for your good !! Take care raghav baba...I will see you soon...saying that she leaves.

Raghav - it's all true...are the last words he heard...it seems so heart wrenching for him...why does it happens to me...could I ever be happy...?? It's always fate winning over me..!! He breaks down completely...?? God's always been merciless and cruel to me...now that I found my happiness after eons yet you repeat your cruelty...dejected...he gets aware of the surroundings...composing himself with greatest difficulty...he makes move towards his car...!!!

Kalpi - whose silently observing him afar...prays for his well being and feels equally dejected and heart broken.

Raghav - reaches home...heavy hearted...heads straight away to his room...ploping down on the chair..may be it's all true...and me being adamant of getting what I always wanted...making me dis-believe the things around...and why should kalpi bare a lover who ditches her , asks her to wait a year for him and after all that he doesn't choose to believe on what she said...she completely deserves a guy better than me with least complications attached to his life...tears flowing he admits...kalpi I lost you for life...unfortunately this' d be the biggest regret of my life...saying so he gulps down the alcohol in haste as if to lessen the pain...and gets lost in a world of his own...!!!

Guari - to one of the servants...is raghav home ????

Servant - yes mam !!

Guari - heads to raghav's room and expresses her concern for his early arrival...beta it feels so good to see you home early.

Raghav - straightening himself...gives a slight nod to his mom..!!

Guari - seeing that Raghav is on drinks...she claims her concern...what is it beta you look so dejected...share it to me...your mom...drinking isn't the solution...and I see you are way too drunk now...your mom loves you beta...please do not hurt her by drinking this way...!!!

Raghav - relax mom...I'm habituated to all of this...we were away till date...so all this might slightly amuse you...hope time gives you a better picture of mine !!

Guari - beta please don't delve over past...now that...I'm here with you...I want us to spend happy time together...and make our lives easy spite the dreadful past..!!

Raghav - laughs out ...mom happy...and me...I can never be happy mom...god likes watching me flinching in pain hurt what not...I am the unlucky man...to be alive...

Guari - beta...stop it...what's wrong with you ????? I'm worried beta...share it to me please...

Raghav - every damn thing is wrong with me mom...I repeat every thing is been wrong with me...he breaks down to his mom...mom...I lost my life today...you know what...I wish i had never returned back to mumbai...but my bloody fate...had it's own plans for me...mom...kalpi got married to sammy...and it's all because of me...I ruined her life...she has been the one whose hurt badly the most of all...despite being so non- deserving to get hurt...she bared it all just for me...but today she got vexed of me...and choosed her way out of my life mom...I ruined her life beyond limits...shez been the most innocent victim of my own deeds...with heavy sobs and regrets he cries over...to his mom...!!!

Guari - inwardly feeling happy as kalpi herself showed her way out of her son's life...hush...beta...please calm down...I can't believe kalpi done this for you...for me you are the priority my son...please calm down beta...saying that she leads him to bed...tucks him in comforting...hush beta relax...please don't hurt yourself...we shall figure out something !!

Raghav - alcohol consumption takes toll on him and he slips into deep slumber.

Chapter-7


Phones buzz , alarm hoots none of the harps knocks him out of his slumber.

The land line starts buzzing and goes answered by the attentive mommy Guari.

Caller - sorry for the inconvenience mam...sir isn't answering his mobile and the schedule to the day demands his presence.

Guari - Raghav will not be available for the day and I don't want any of the work chaos to be heard for the day.

The beep of call disconnecting sound makes the caller panicky and paves way to sammy.
Sir...Raghav sir isn't office yet and to hype it all his mother confirmed his absence for the day .

Sammy - relax..let me handle things , I will try contacting Raghav as soon as possible. Disperse of the employee makes sammy worried...I hope you're fine Raghav..on that note he dails out to Guari.

Guari - hello beta...i heard of you and kalpi getting married , my best wishes and blessings to you and kalpi as well.

Sammy - ah !!! Thank you aunty wishes from you made my day as well as kalpi's !! Coming to the business do you mind me coming over to meet Raghav ??

Guari - ofcourse not beta , let me tell you Raghav was so upset last night and he must be having a very bad hangover as well so i don't think he will be able to work for the day.he deserves a break badly !!

Sammy - yeah aunty..your concern is so visible but I still want to meet him.

Sammy - wake up Raghav !!

Raghav - he tilts around and gets attentive towards the familiar voice.

Sammy - finally !! Come on drink this...no execuses...have it...now ..!!

Raghav - he gulps down the liquid without ant fuss !! Thanks !!

Sammy - sorry yaar..!! I'd have let you been but you know the clients are peculiar and your presence is absolutely needed..now please move it quickly..it's already late.

Raghav - getting aware to the day's schedule jilts him out of his emotions...it's futile to get driven emotionally atleast work involvement will drift my focus..on that self thought he moves ahead for the day.

Raghav and sammy try to keep the day professional and calm...they get involved in work proceedings.

Kalpi - it's almost evening and I haven't heard from sammy sir about Raghav's well being !! Oh God...in process of making aunt Guari realise I'm hurting the person I love the most..!! Least I could ask you is give him strength baapa please do !!


Kamala consoles her daughter and assures her that things will get better soon as they had been through enough of hardships even vittal stresses on that and try to lighten up kalpi.she gives them approving smile though worried inwardly.


It's day to noon and noon to evening , soon to be night yet I haven't heard from sammy sir...with each passing second the tension for Raghav's well being is getting multiplied..giving up on waiting she dails to sammy instead !!

Sammy and Raghav are quite happy of the day's event as they had a favourable outcome and heading home in the same car !! They get engrossed in discussing the project only to be disturbed by the phone buzz !!

Sammy - he gets little conscious on seeing the caller id..this doesn't go unnoticed by Raghav. Considering his presence..he thinks to avoid the call !!

Raghav - with a chuckle it might be something important sammy..answer the call !!

Sammy - gives a nod and takes the call..!!

Kalpi - is raghav okay ??? I'm sorry sammy sir...I haven't heard from you lately...I couldn't hold myself and I...I...

Sammy - everything is fine kalpana...I'm almost home...we can talk then...bye !!!

Kalpi - jumps into conclusion that Raghav might be around...considering the haste talk of sammy..but gives a sigh of relief on "everything is fine ".


Sammy feels the tension...as it was so uncomfortable for him considering what's going on in Raghav's mind.he averts his looks here and there.

Raghav - so you guys moved in !!!!!!

Sammy - chuckles on that...self thinks hez not gonna come on to my place and check na...and blurts out a accidental yes.

Raghav -hearing that he feels the pang , rushing emotions all this take a toll on him.

Sammy - reaches home bids bye to his friend and leaves in haste as he himself felt Raghav's emotions.

A week passed by...alcohol nights and work days were the routine of Raghav.Either of Guari or sammy would take care of his hangover...raghav tries to contact kalpi only to be faced by her complete indifference and shun...he blames himself for all this..but he still expects a genuine reason for kalpi getting married to sammy...guilt , pain , disinterest towards life makes him more aloof and worrisome.

Little that Guari starts noticing his son being all aloof and worrisome makes her worried but she covers herself by claiming...it's just been a week true love doesn't fade out easily , I should give my son his own time get out of it.

It's heavy pouring rainy day...and kalpi is busy shutting the chairs , tables of the cafe inorder to prevent any sort of damage..kamala calls out to kalpi asking her to get inside leaving the stuff...due to heavy fall and wind the already bad ceiling gets cracked which goes unnoticed by kalpi whose still winding uo the cafe apparatus...the ceiling breaks out only to befall on kalpi...being lucky enough she gets a bruised hand and a injured shoulder...the sudden fall and sharp pain just makes kalpi weak and cry out...kamala and paakya rush her to the nearest hospital.

Doctor reports that kalpi had a minor fracture and the bruised hand will be healed out of proper medication and rest in time and there is nothing much to worry on .

Kamala thanks god and heaves a sigh of relief on doctors word.

Sammy and other employees including Raghav were at a meeting and they decide to wind it up !!
All employees leave...sammy bids a bye to raghav and leaves as well..Raghav whose still at work going through some work related papers finds sammy's left out mobile on his desk...as all of his calls were going unanswered by kalpI...idea pops out and he decides to call kalpi from sammy's mobile.

Kalpi's phone starts buzzing though getting treated at hospital her phone buzz grabs her attention...she asks who the caller is to Paakya...and knowing it's sammy , asks him to take the call to get into the matter...!!

Raghav - gets attentive as the call gets answered , hearing Paakya's voice he chuckles and asks out for kalpi.
Paakya - considering the caller isn't sammy but raghav...voice outs kalpi isn't keeping well anything important sir !!

Raghav - what do you mean shez not keeping well...what is it Paakya.

Paakya - he can feel the rage and tension in Raghav's voice...and decides to voice out the truth...well she met with a minor accident but shez fine now nothing to worry.

Raghav - the word accident makes him weak and worrisome...please give me the name of the hospital.

Paakya - whose very well aware of their love and also past days made him see how his sister is worried for him...thinks it's been long they met and it's time they meet...he voice outs the hospital name.

Raghav - drives himself to hospital with all worry..!! On reaching...there he gets the glance of his beloved resting with a sling attached and a bandaged palm...his heart feels for her...!!!

Kamala - thank you for coming Raghav baba.

Raghav - ah..it's okay kamala mas...how all this happened and what did the doctor say.??

Kamala let's him know how all this took place and comforts him with the doctors word as well.

Raghav - heaves a sigh of relief and asks kamala whether he can go meet kalpi .

Kamala - hesitates but allows him to meet.


Raghav - voice outs a thank you and rushes in to kalpi's room.He places his hand over her uninjured hand in a comforting gesture.

Kalpi - whose just resting due to the effect of pain killers jilts out by the familiar touch.

Raghav - does it hurt badly ?? Can't you just take care and loook around your surroundings !!

Kalpi - I'm fine Raghav...takes back the hand from his hold and masks her love feelings with indifference.

Raghav - kalpi please ...talk to me...!! Can't you see your indifference is hurting me badly...and I very well know it's hurting you equally.

Kalpi - stop it Raghav why are you here...please leave...I'm fine...in and out.

Raghav - I am here for you...and I do not see you fine in and out.

Kalpi - gets emotional for a while but to divert the line of actions utters where is sammy sir...I'm expecting him here .

Raghav - reality hits him harder and with all concern and deep hurt he voice outs take care kalpi...and heads his way out..he bids bye to kamala and Paakya and leaves dejected.
