I have noticed that in EMA, like most love stories there are conflicts. sometimes it is the class system, the ideology of a couple, a third angle that creates missunderstand between the leads. the villian, triditional backward ideas.
but in Ek mutti Aasmaam. the conflict is between Values verses Love.

i'm sorry to say but i dont identify with either Ragav or Kalpi. and to me the both come across as selfish and twofaced.

first Raghav. he loves Kalpi but dumps her at the mandap on their wedding day to marry another girl for revenge. against the girls parents. he could easily have gone to the police and gotten justice the normal way. sent the kapoors to jail for murder.

but now he is married but he wants kalpi in his life too. so like some renegrade romeo he puts sindoor in her mang and makes her his secret wife. technically its against the law.and he is commeting adultry. it does not matter wether he loves his wife or not. pakhi is his lawfully wedded wife. this promotes very low moral values in the name of love.

Klapi a girl who has been brought up with high moral values, is now crushing those values given to her by parents that love her and want only the best for her. she makes promises to her parents that she will not meet Raghav. yet does not keep her promises. despite her mother telling her the sindoor she brought from the pilgrimage site was for Pakhi, she applies that sindoor in her mang once again going against her own mother's wishes. she is pining for a man who is married to her milk sister. this too is adultery. she is doing everything against her parents and the moral values that have given her only for her love. she says sorry to her father but does not mean it. as she continues to make the same mistake all over again. this shows that kalpi has no respect or value for the good values that her parents have give her or her parents.

i find Kalpi and raghav come across as weak selfish people who only care about their love for each other and to hell with everything else.

i'm not advocating Pakhi nor do i want her to be with raghav. she deserves better. but even thought she has to face insults and rejection at every turn and is making every effort to stand by the values given to her by Kamla . as a wife it is her duty and dharm to make her marriage work. she is doing everything that a good wife should do, even thought it is not appreciated, she is even trying to be a good daughter in law, but is totally stoned walled there.

love is a beautiful thing. love helps renew values, and brings joy to everyone that love has greater meaning. but when love ceases to renew values but breaks and flaunts them that love looses its higher purpose. a love that is selfish is not love, a love that belittles moral values can never be love.

i see a very sad interpretation of love in this serial.

We are in 21st centuries. In this century, Marriage means respecting. trusting and loving each other.
Pakhi does not have to behave sati savitri type for the person who cheated her. It is not dharma, it is stupidity and her selfishness.

I also did not like Raghav and Kalpana's sindoor marriage. But from their point of view, it is not marriage but a commitment to each other to be true to each other.

Kamla is no right to decide what is right and wrong for her both daughters. She has spoiled Kalpana's life by making her isstrang. but in reality she just weakened her so much that she is ready to accept Raghav like she is accepting her so called mother. After all she is Kamla's own blood. if Kamla mata can forgive murderers, then her blood daughter can forgive a cheater. Kamla has kept pakhi delusional. She is encouraging her to see false dreams.

Morality is a debatable topic. For some people it is immoral that Pakhi is trying to woo Raghav when she very well knows that he is in love with Kalpana and he had married her just for revenge.
It also seems immoral to many people when Kamla does not take Kalpi' prasad to vithoba as her daughter trusted her so much.
We can't decide what is morally right or wrong in case of love. Because love itself is a moral for the person who is in love.

Sorry for such a long comment. sorry if u dont like it.

Woww. You have written it so beautifully. Actually the whole chaos started with marriage track. During garden romance when Kalpi said" humare ghar me ladkiyan shaadi ki baat nahi karti' then I had a ominous feeling that the show is going in a wrong way. And it did. In one word. DISASTER😡

Merry - You said a lot about Moral values.. can i ask you the definition for that? i can bet you will not have a straight answer coz there is no straight answer.

Marriage is not a compromise or an agreement nor it is about the rituals... it is a commitment out of love and trust. I don't need my mangalsutra and sindoor on me always to be committed to my husband - reason coz i love him. He don't wear his wedding band as his finger hurts but he is never unfaithful to me coz he loves me and i have complete trust on him. A trust that comes out of love. We fight, we argue but its all fine at the end of the day coz we love each other.

A marriage sustained or kept afloat just because of a paper or ritual does more harm than good. The biggest suffers would the children who "might" come out of that union because they will never understand the meaning of love and companionship. That is long term would be curse to the society.

Raghav and Kalpi love each other and they are meant to be. I am not justifying what Raghav did. He shouldnt have done that even if his mom blackmailed him for that. Paakhi should just see the truth and move out .. You just have one life... i would rather live on my terms and be happy that compromise and suffer

Raghav and Kalpi just stand up and go for what they want in life. I would say defy their parents(who are selfish) . Rag divorce Paki and marry Kalpi. Paaki has a life of her own.. why does she need a man who don't love her. There is no darma or any other crap is trying to sustain a loveless marraige!

...any one who has ever been in love will understand the plight and feelings of raghav and kalpi...it is an overwhelming..uncontrollable emotion...which does not recognise or fear barriers...class or even morals...or even duniya kya kahegi...these two will reach that stage as well...
