I don't actually think that I am not the only one who has seen how such a track of marriage to the other person works or ends for that matter.

Been there, done that. Kasauti Zindagi Ki, Tujh Sang Preet Lagayi Sajna, Kayamath, Bade Acche Lagte Hain, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, being the ones from on top of my head. Not to mention the extremely famous Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (for the record, I wanted Ash to go with Sallu).

So, well it's no wonder that almost ALL the fans of the show are disgruntled. I have stopped watching the show, relying on written updates (even that, only sometimes, when I feel like I haven't killed my good mood and humor enough). I am pretty sure that I can't be the only one who has done that!

The fact is, we as audience, decides the fate of a daily soap. Take, Pavitra Rishta, for example. No matter how much the CVs tried to shove Arjun-Ovi down our throats, the falling TRPs, the whole fandom behind Arjun-Purvi, and the negative reaction towards the couple, forced, even the Queen of never reuniting love-birds, Ekta Kapoor, to get them back together.

So, well, at the end of the day, we just have to hang in there, and keep our non-cooperation movement intact. The only reason daily soaps are made are for entertainment and TRPs; so if we aren't getting entertainment, are we stop giving them TRP, they will have to retrace their steps back to what made the show what it is today - Raghav and Kalpana.

I agree, it's only if the ratings go down over a number of weeks will PD and her cohorts change the track.

But, if there has been a long precedent before this and that too on Zee, why would the channel make the same mistake again? Wouldn't they have learned their lesson?

I haven't watched PR but have had an idea thanks to SBS and SBB. if breaking up a popular pair brings down the trps, then no sane channel would allow it.

Which makes me wonder if all this is not temporary. The show hasn't got all that great a trp compared to some of the other shows on the channel which explains why it does not have a single sponsor and the channel is ready to reduce the repeats to almost nothing.

So, if they know that whatever trps they are getting is due to Ragna, why would they deliberately kill the goose that lays them the golden egg?

They must have a reason...the good one is that they are planning to keep EMA as long as possible and the bad reason could be they want it ended as soon as possible so that the new show can take its place.

My money's on the former...if they had shown Ragna married, then the revenge...it may have gotten over fast. This way, Kalpi has the chance to spread her wings and fly high and that can make very interesting viewing with Raghav crossing her path now and again which would make for very intense scenes.
And, having resolved his revenge plan and maybe getting Pakhi on his side only as a friend, the story could move on to how Raghav tries to win Kalpi back...that has to be a long and hard struggle on his part.
Sorry for the long post!😃

I don't know how much you know about the trp system in India. But the fact is that just by watching the show on tv will not add to the trps.

Only a very small cross-section of people in India contribute to trps...because they have a trp machine installed in their homes by the TAM people. I don't have one, nor does anyone else in my family and neither do my friends have it.

So none of us contribute to the trps.

I have watched all the above mentioned shows up to a certain point, the point being the time when the leads were unjustly separated. And yes, EMA does not have a huge viewership, which iswhat I think may be responsible for the current horrendous track. Flagging in new viewers using illogical twists is the way to be, looking at not Ekta (she came into the business years later), but the American soap operas The Young and the Restless, Days of our Lives, Guiding Light, etc. I've watched a few episodes of some of them, and they were enough to put me off soap operas forever.

The backtracking from this sham of a marriage is not going to be easy for the viewers to digest either. In India, especially with the serial-watching middle class, marriage is considered sanctimonious. No matter how they twist this wedding track, they are going to ruffle feathers, either of the marriage loving traditionalists, or of the love shall win in the end romanticists.

The makers have put another nail, into their already drowning coffin, so to speak. The longevity of the show is going to be the least of their concerns!
