Chapter 27

Kamla maa walks towards her home, her feet heavy... with each step she gets closer to her home, her anxiety increases ten-folds... she does not know what she is going to tell Vithal. She reflects back to their recent conversation, Vithal warning her about her biased nature and it's effects. She runs up the stairs, enters her home. Vithal has his back to her and is on the telephone. Kamla unable to wait says in a quivering voice, "Vithal..."
Vithal snaps around, glares at Kamla angrily for the intrusion as he gestures for her to keep quiet. He turns away from Kamla and speaks hurriedly into the phone. Kamla looks on, her eyes brimming with tears, thinking, "Oh no Vithal is already angry. What should I do now? Should I tell him what Kalpi has done or should I keep quiet."
Kamla maa was so focused in her thoughts that she did not realise that Vithal was speaking to her. Vithal angrily walks up to Kamla, holds her by her shoulders and shakes her, saying, "Where is your concentration, woman! Hurry up we need to go to the hospital."

HospitalVithal's heart is racing as he walks along the hospital corridor... all he knows is what Ragav told him on the phone before disconnecting... the words replaying in his mind "Come to the hospital quickly." then shouting, "Kalpi!" and hanging up. He looks at Kamla, his eyes filled with anxiety and concern, debating whether he should say something or not. Kamla looks at Vithal, worry in her eyes because she was unable to get any information out of him.
Vithal holds Kamla's hand, stops her. He looks into her eyes, trying his best to keep his emotions in check, says with a light tremor, "Kamla, I think Kalpi..." Kamla's gaze is fixed behind him, stunned, fear in her eyes, Vithal turns around worriedly... to see what has stunned Kamla that she would express fear. He watches Ragav, walk backwards, bump into the wall and drop himself on the floor... his clothes bloody. Vithal freezes as he recollects Ragav shouting Kalpi's name just before disconnecting. His heart racing he looks on, tears in his eyes. Kamla whispers in anguish, "Kalpi", releases his hold on her and rushes towards Ragav... breaking Vithal from his frozen state... Vithal follows closely.
Ragav stares at the wall in front of him, trying to stay strong, but unable to do so... tears fall from his eyes. He looks around dazed, needing his Kalpi. He closes his eyes as he recollects the moments from when Kalpi was in his arms to right this moment in the hospital. He gets up and walks towards the room he just left... with only one thought... he needs his Kalpi in his arms.
(Gosh I am so tempted to tease you all and stop here😉 you guys are just lucky that I feel you are all suffering enough with the crap shown in ema😆)
Ragav walks towards the room, when the door opens, he looks up in relief and pulls Kalpi into a bone crushing hug. His need for her so strong. Kalpi hugs him, trying to console him as she whispers, "Everything will be okay. Don't lose hope." Ragav murmurs, "Sammy is like a brother to me."
Kamla maa calls out in relief as she rushes towards Ragav and Kalpi, "Kalpi, beta" Ragav does not release Kalpi from his hold when they turn towards Kamla maa. Kamla maa and Vithal stop, look in concern as they takes note of all the blood on them both, their focus on the blood. Kamla maa opens her arms, wanting to hug Kalpi, needing to touch her after the almost scare she had when she saw Ragav on the floor while Vithal calls out, "Are you both okay... what happened?"
Kalpi turns to Ragav, her eyes silently asking him to release her so that she can go to her mother. Ragav gives a grim smile, not happy about the lose of contact... it was like he needed the reassurance that Kalpi was okay... was safe through the constant contact. He drops his hand from her shoulder and nods in the direction of her mother. Kalpi smiles and rushes to her mum eagerly, wanting a hug.
As Kalpi gets closer to her mother, Kamla maa notices the sindoor in her forehead, she hardens her gaze and drops her hands as she recollects the events that took place earlier in the day. She says coldly, "Looks like you are alright. Thats good."
Kalpi stops, frozen midway when she hears the coldness in her mother's voice. Vithal looks at Kamla in surprise... for he had not expected such a reaction from her. He opens his arms and with an encouraging smile, gestures for a hug... wanting to hug his little girl... after the fright he just had... to reassure himself that she is okay. Kalpi runs into her baba's arms, hugging him tight as she cries away.
Kalpi breaks away from the hug, Vithal notices the mangalsutra round her neck and the sindoor in her maang. He looks ahead at Ragav speculatively. Ragav walks towards them, puts his arm around Kalpi's waist... a gesture telling Vithal that yes she is my wife now and says, "There was a shooting at my place. Pakhi and Sammy were hit. They are undergoing an operation to remove the bullets." Vithal nods and decides that now is not the time to discuss Ragav and Kalpi's marriage. Instead he says, "Have you informed the Kapoors?" To which Ragav shakes his head and says, "No we have not."
P.S: Am very annoyed with the track... my heart refuses to write anything positive for Pakhi, so I had decided to kill her off. Luckily this new track has come about in ema... so am debating whether she is going to die or recover... it all depends on what she does to Ragna this week 😆
I was cruel to end with gun shots... since ema is stressful enough... I have written this chapter quickly... only because majority of you were having mini palpitations... hence decided not to prolong your torture... I might not always be this kind😉
