Chap 8.
Kamla reaches Raghav's home with Sammy and sees Raghav unconscious in bar.Sammy sprinkles water on Raghav's face and force him to drink lemon water.After sometime raghav comes into his senses and sees Kamla Ma there.
Raghav apologises to Kamla Maa. Kamla tells : Raghav baba, I know you are sorry for what u did to my innocent kalpi. I have always considered u as my son and a mother can't see her any child in pain. If my forgiveness can ease ur pain then I am forgiving u. Please take care of your self.
Raghav (in his drowsy state) : Will Kalpi forgive me?
Kamla (in a worried voice) : Don't know Raghav baba. I was not with her when she grew up. She does not share her feelings. her secrets with me.Not only u, I had also hurt her.But one thing i know that she would have forgiven you if you had hurt her only. But you had hurt her friends. I don't know she will forgive u or not but you have to hold yourself back. . If u have even considered me as your mother, then promise me that u will not drink like this again.
Raghav : But Kamla Maa.
Kamla : Just promise me Raghav baba.Pakhi baby is also related with ur life.
Saying so, Kamla leaves from there
Reality hits Raghav badly. He have to give answers to Pakhi also.He is thinking all this when Sammy gives him the packet which Kalpana gave him.
Raghav opens the packet and is shocked to see the abacus and pen.He remembers the moment when he gave these to her. He remembers her happiness, her gratitude, her reluctancy, her acceptance. He looks at the abacus and pen sadly. He know how preciously Kalpana has been keeping these things till now.Kamla Maa and Pakhi told him a lot of times about Kalpana's possessiveness for these childish things. Seeing these things, he knows that he had killed the soul of that innocent Kalpi. Sammy did not utter a single word about Kalpi after coming from her home. Raghav can understand the reason. Kalpi has not forgiven him. He has to win not only her forgiveness but her trust and her love back. He can't afford to lose his love and life i.e. Kalpana.
In Kalpana's home.
Kalpana and Pakya gets ready for their job i.e. searching job. while Vittal is wishing them luck with curd and sugar , Samrat makes an entry.
Samrat : Vittal uncle, I also need ur wishes. My baba is not sweet like u . He is fuming on me. He does not believe that I need rest after Police's beating.So, I have to go for the interview. Dada, I know only u can understand my feelings. Job and me -really a drastic combination.
Pakya keeps mum.
Kalpana looks at him and sees the marks of wounds on Samrat's head. She is feeling guilty that Rahul and Samrat had to bear all this because of her.
Kalpana : I am sorry. U and Rahul have to bear all these for me.
Samrat : Oye stop ur emotional speech. Now lets go.
Vittal stops them and offers samrat sweetened curd.
Samrat : Thanx uncle.
After giving two unsuccessful interviews, Kalpana and Samrat decide to take a break but Pakya is not ready to take break.
Pakya : I will go home today with appointment letter only.
Kalpana : Dada...
Pakya : Kalpu. I will not be so helpless again. I will not let anyone hurt u again.
Kalpana gives her dada a hug.
Kalpana : Dada, I love u. Thanks for being there always for me.
Pakya : Now, you go home. Samrat, you are coming with me. Uncle called me to keep an eye on u. He had arranged 2 more interviews for u.
Samrat : Dada,No.. I thought u will understand my feeling.but you are behaving like my baba. Baba had arranged interviews for me. Please god help me.. I will keep fast
A smile appears on Kalpana's lips.
Kalpana gets a call.
Kalpana : hello...Pakhi...OK...I am coming to meet u...bye.
Kalpana informs them that she is going to meet Pakhi at XYZ cafe as Pakhi had told her that Its urgent.
At Cafe:
Kalpana reaches at the cafe.
Pakhi : Thanks Kalpana for coming. But I wonder you still have courage to meet me after doing this to me.
Kalpana (in confusion) : Just talk straight Pakhi. I am not getting anything.
Pakhi : Ok, I am asking u straight why are you trying to snatch Raghav from Me.
Kalpana (Calm): Pakhi, I think u have got the facts wrong. I am not interested in anything which is related to Raghav.
Pakhi : Raghav had broken our engagement saying that he loves u.
Before Kalpana can answer, Raghav and Samrat come there.
Raghav : Don't accuse Kalpana, Pakhi. I have never loved u and I had never said u that I love u. I have always used u for my revenge.I had got engaged to u becoz I wanted to hurt your parents and Kalpana. Your parnts cheated my dad and I used to think Kalpana is responsible for Trisha's death.
Kalpana feels disgusted but does not utter a single word.
Pakhi loses her calm and holds Raghav's collar : How can u do this to me. U always know how much I love u. How can u do this to me.?
Raghav (feeling guilty) : I am sorry pakhi. I am sorry for everything . But I don't love u.
Pakhi is crying vigorously. Kalpana does not know how to console her and Sammy is feeling bad for Pakhi. Yes Trisha was right that he is in love with Pakhi. But He and Raghav messed everything so bad that it will take time to clear all this mess.
Sammy tries to console Pakhi and Pakhi is crying continuously.
Sammy : We are sorry Pakhi, I know how much it hurts to accept the fact the person whom u love doesn't love u.But Raghav never loved u. If u still want to marry him, I will help u to marry him. But we can't force anyone to love us. Trisha was Raghav's girlfriend but Raghav never loved her. She was his best friend. raghav only oves Kalpana.
Pakhi can't take it all these any more and runs away from there leaving behind Raghav, sammy and Kalpana.
Kalpana feels bad for Pakhi.
Sammy and Raghav are expecting a reaction from Kalpana after hearing Sammy's words and they hear Samrat's voice.
Samrat : Kalpi, Dada have gone mad. I can't bear him any more. Thank god, Purba called me at right time.
Kalpana (in concerned voice): Why did purba call u ? Is Rahul alright ?
Samrat : Rahul is alright. Purba has a surprise for u. She tried to call u but u did not pick her call. So She called me. She had invited us for lunch.
Samrat then notices Raghav and Sammy.
Samrat (in anger) : Kalpana, are not u supposed to be with that delicate princess Pakhi?
Kalpana : I will explain u later. Now we should leave. Purba is waiting for us.
Samrat smiles : Purba had cooked food for us.
Kalpana ( in panic): no..Please book 5 bed in the hospital.
Kalpana tries to leave with Samrat when Raghav holds her hand.
Samrat tries to intervene but Kalpana nods her head to him and raghav notices it.
Raghav : I want to talk to u.
Kalpana calmly : But I don't want to talk to u.
Raghav : Please give me a chance to explain.. Please.
Kalpana : I don't need any explanation Mr. Singhania. I am getting late. So leave my hand.
Raghav leaves her hand.
Kalpana leaves with Samrat continuously bantering with each other. the words that caught Raghav and Sammy's attention are
Samrat : Why did u stop me.
Kalpana : You and Rahul already suffered becoz of me. I can't see u hurt.
Samrat : I can bear anything for u sweetheart.
Kalpana hits him : Don't do melodrama.
Raghav stands there still.He can't bear Kalpana's ignorance toward him. He can bear her hatred but not her indifference. He can't see Kalpana so close with someone else apart from him. Sammy notices Raghav.
Sammy's POV:
We have done mistakes. But I will try to rectify it. Trisha,I will fulfill last wish of urs. U always wanted to see Raghav and me happy. I will convince Kalpana and pakhi.
In Purba's home.
Samrat, Kalpana, Rahul and Raina sit for the lunch. Purba served them food. Food is looking good but they had enough experience of purba's cooking . Last time, Purba prepared salty tea for Rahul. No one dares to touch the food. They are staring each one's face. Purba notices it and asks them to start and stares at Rahul angrily.
Rahul takes first bite. Samrat , Raina and Kalpana looks at him expectantly and he gestures that food is ok.
They also start having food but the very next moment, Kalpana starts screaming for water. Purba offers her water and Kalpana gulps water. Her throat is burning becoz of spices. Purba offers her sweet and she immediately gulps it. Then Kalpana notices everyone is having food without any problem and she looks at purba questioningly.
Purba : Their food is ok. Sweet heart I had put extra chilli in only your food.
Kalpana is surprised: What kind of joke is this? My whole throat is burning and how can u do this to me?
Rahul in calm voice : and What do you think of yourself Kalpana. U decided to put ur life in stake becoz of us. Did not u think once how much we would be hurt?
Kalpana : I cried when I saw wounds on you and Samrat. I fet guilty when I saw Purba and Raina's tear soaked face. I wanted to protect u. How could I leave u in that mess?
Purba : We would have found a different way. They had given wounds on body but you scratched our heart. you have never considered us your friend.
Kalpana : Don't say this. I love u all and I can't see u in problem.
Raina : U can't see us in pain and how can u think that we will be able to see u in pain.
Kalpana : I am sorry guys. I will never do it again.
Samrat : Great. what do u think about giving Raghav a chance? I had heard pakhi, raghav and Samrat's conversation.
Kalpana notices everyone's questioning eyes on her.
Rahul : Before making a decision, Kalpana you should know that we don't have any grudge against Raghav. If u are happy with him, We all will be happy.
Samrat : I am with Rahul. I had seen a changed Raghav today. If u want to give him a chance, please go ahead.
Kalpana does not know what to answer. Something is dead in her heart.She will not be able to love and trust anyone again.
Purba and Raina senses Kalpana's discomfort.
Purba : Oh god, please stop ur nonsense talk and this poor girl needs food, not your stupid advice.
Kalpana looks at Purba and utters a silent Thank u and purba nods her head reassuring Kalpana.
Raina : Kalpana, I have a good news for us But I forgot to mention because of Bhai and Samrat.
everyone looks at Raina.
Raina : But it will be a surprise. So don't look at me like this. I will tell u all on the exact time. Now have food.
Samrat and Rahul starts pursuing Raina to disclose the surprise but Raina goes to her room.
Purba : Rahul, lets bet.If u will be successful to know about the surprise from Ria, I will do what ever u say for one week. otherwise you have to eat my hand prepared food for one whole week.
Rahul : Ok but Samrat will help me and I will win this bet in 15 mins. I know my sister.
Purba : Ok lets see.
Rahul and samrat goes to Raina's room leaving Purba and Kalpana alone.
Kalpana smiles : God gives strength to Rahul so that he can bear the torture of ur food. I know Ria is not going to tell them anything. You already know the surprise and you are not going to tell me right. and From where did u order today's food. It is great.
Purba laughs : You know me very well. Like I know you. I am not going to ask u about Raghav and u dont ask me about Restaurant's name.
At night in Kalpana's home:
Kalpana is celebrating with her family. Her dada had got a good job.
Vittal : I am very happy Pakya. Finally u become responsible.
Pakya : I had learnt my lesson baba. Money is everything in this world.
Kamla : Pakya, Money is not everything in this world.Just remove this crap from ur head.
Pakya : aai, You always want us to be successful becoz u also know the money is everything in the world and I have also realised it. You need money for everything.
Kamla : Pakya, I want u and Kalpana to be successful but I don't want u both to consider money everything.
Pakya : My sister had suffered becoz we did not have money. They even had guts to come to our house becoz it belongs to them.I will not bear it anymore. I will not let anyone ruin my sister's happiness.
Kamla : Pakya, They are sorry for it. learn to forgive also. They had hurt Pakhi also and I had advised her Same.
Pakya : aai, I know u are great and u have a big heart but I am sorry. I am just a normal human being. I can't forgive them.
Kamla : Kalpi, make ur dada understand that u should forgive them.
Kalpana : Aai, They don't need our forgiveness as we are too small infront of them. and U are just listening Dada's words not his unspoken feelings. He wants to be successful becoz this world only values money. But for my dada, love is everything.
Kalpana hugs her Dada. Vittal looks at his son and daughter with a content face. They have grown up. He always know that Kalpana is mature but He always used to think that Pakya is immature. But today he proved him wrong and he is happy for it.
Kamla looks at her son and daughter. She is seeing a new Pakya today. Her fun loving and immature son has transformed into a serious and mature man. and her daughter, she always surprised her. She is mature but childish. She is talkative but never try to explain herself.Kamla always wanted her daughter to be strong.Today she is seeing her strong but there is a strange coldness and indifference in her attitude.
In Raghav's home:
Sammy comes to Raghav and informs him that he has set everything alright and Kalpana will get surprise tomorrow.
Raghav : Thanks for everything, sammy.
Sammy : We are friends.
Raghav : Don't u hate me Sammy. I had never loved Trisha though she used to love me.
Sammy : I know u cared for Trisha. But Love happens from heart not from mind. We can't decide whom to love.
Raghav : I am sorry.
Sammy. Then I also have to say sorry. I had warned Pakhi many times regarding ur plan as I can't see her hurt. Though I know how much u hate Kappors, I am in love with her.
Raghav : Love is so strange.
Next morning in Kalpana's home.
Pakya is getting ready for his office and Kalpana is preparing breakfast for him. Aaji, Kamla and vittal are busy in their respective work.
Sudden knock on the door.
Kamla opens the door and finds Raghav and Sammy standing there.
They gives Kamla a Paper and Kamla is thrilled to see Kalpi's photo on the paper. Raghav and sammy informs her that Kalpana had topped the exam but Mrs. Nettu Kapoor bribed the examiner to fail Kalpi.
Kamla calls everyone and informs everyone good news.
Kamla(happily) : Kalpi, u have topped the exam. You have fulfilled my every dream.
Kalpana (Shocked) : Aai, I did not apply for rechecking.
Kamla (Happily) : Raghav baba had done this for u.
Aaji is also very happy but Vittal and Pakya are hurt seeing Kalpana's expressionless face. She is not happy and they know it. They know how much this mattered to her few months back but today it does not matter to her.
Kalpana takes paper from Kamla's hand and goes toward gas and burns it.
Kamla, aaji, Raghav and sammy are shocked to see this. But Vittal and Pakya were expecting this only.
Then She comes to Raghav.
Kalpana ( in furiously calm voice) : Mr. singhania, I know this chawl belongs to u and I can't stop u from entering in my home. But my life is not ur property. so stay away from it.
Kamla : Kalpi, it is not a way to behave with guests. Raghav baba and Sammy baba had done a favor on us by proving that U topped the exam.
Raghav (in sad tone) : Kamla Ma I have not done any favor. It is Kalpana's hard work only.
Kalpana intervens.
Kalpana : Aai, It is not win of my hardwork. But Real winner is Mr. Singhania's money and power. Nettu Kapoor had bribed them to fail me and Mr. Singhania had bribed them to pass me. Last date of submission for rechecking had passed a long time ago.But still University authority rechecked my paper. Quite strange .
Then she turns to Raghav and Sammy.
Kalpana : You had already proved that you have power and money by putting my innocent friends in jail. I know ur power. you need not to prove it again. I don't need a degree which can be bought so easily.
Raghav : Kalpana, I did not do this to show off my power. I want to see u happy and I am sorry for what I did to ur friends.
Kalpana : you don't have to think about my happiness. Stay away from my family and friend.
