Kalpi's POV: New day, new beginnings, let's go Kalpi. Today is your day; you will shine and conquer like the sun does with its first rays. With an aura of confidence, Kalpi dresses up for interview in classic grey pant shirt suit.
Pakhi POV: Something is different in the air, I hope love. I so need a valentine to match with my wardrobe. Ugh if I was a college dean, college should not start until 11 a.m. Oh, today is interview day, maybe there are some hunks around...wait... working corporate guys...too boring.
Kamla gives her blessing to Kalpi for interview and so does the rest of the family along with Ma's blessing. Kalpi feels confident and carries that glow as she leaves for college. While on the way to college Pakhi car gets punctured. Pakhi hits the tire and then screams 'Ouch"
Destiny had it Sammy stops and offers to help Pakhi but can't help and wonder how cute and bubbly she is.
P POV: Shakal sey toh achey ghar ka lagta hai (He seems to belong from a good family). He looks cute and easy to get along types.
Pakhi: Thanks, my driver seems has been buried 10 feet in ground. By the way, my name is Pakhi.
Sammy: Beautiful name. I'm Samar but friends call me Sammy. Since I'm doing labor work, shouldn't I be granted a cold coffee?
P: (Impressed by his confident attitude) Sure, there is a shop behind us. Apparently my car had brains to stop at the right spot.
There have coffee and a few laughs with slight flirting and ends with exchanging phone numbers when Sammy mentions he just moved from USA.
Sammy saves her number as CP poodle (short for Cutie Pie and poodle since she earnestly wanted to please). Meanwhile Pakhi saves his number as CC (cold coffee).
Raghav was frustrated with the number of interviews he had conducted and the level of immaturity he witnessed.
R POV: I need to reward Sammy, the people I interviewed were 10 times more immature than Sammy was when I first met him. Is this the education system, not one suitable candidate? Are you forgetting Kalpi calls an inner voice but her rubbishes such thought?
Raghav walks out for a break and is spotted by Pakhi who after feeling attracted to Sammy, feels the same way about Raghav.
P POV: I knew it. Today is my day, first CC and now this Hotamoley. What luck! Pakhi, what is wrong with you? Rahul's love ghost didn't get out of you, and then Sammy's bhoot got in your head and now him.
She tries to talk to him but he looks right through her and leaves.
P: Must be having a bad day. She follows him and finds he is conducting interview and decides to participate.
Kalpi was practicing yoga breaths her Ma taught her until her personal bubble was popped by Pakhi exclaiming "Kalpi, we go next and together, what fun". Both are called in, Raghav gives them his back, which doesn't sit well with Kalpi.
K POV: How rude, I mean who in their right mind conducts interview like this?
Raghav asks drooling Pakhi why she wants the job if she is so rich and starts to turn towards them.
P: I want to achieve certain things on my own. My Kamla Ma taught me that.
R POV: At least her pitchy voice toned down a bit but she seems still the same old 10 year old Pookie, another immature interviewee.
He then next turns to Kalpi and for a second is baffled as she was dressed properly for an interview and has half her hair pinned back. She looks enthralling. Focus Raghav, Kapoors'.
K POV: He seems strangely familiar, I do not remember from where. She senses the same pain in his eyes that she has seen and felt in herself, her Ma and Rahul. Focus Kalpi, building (where Kapoors' live).
Raghav insults Kalpi's roots by mocking her parents' occupation and calls her accomplishments boring, Kalpi is taken back for a second and replies confidently.
K: It is true, those are my parents' job and they did that for providing roof over my head. I'm not ashamed of where I came from. Only God controls where one is born but he gives us the right to do hard work and improve our quality of life.
Raghav surprised at how feisty and stubborn she has become, nods while smiling in his head.
R: Lecture was good, why don't you join politics? You will become rich and give lectures all the time. Now which one of you will make coffee for me Princess Pakhi or Janski ki rani Kalpana.
Pakhi happily jumps at the opportunity to shine, unknowingly what a third wheel she was in this situation.
Kalpi retorts: Just because I came from a house where one does their own work, you assume that I will make coffee for you. I thought you are looking for someone who can change your revenue, not do job that you pay your custodian to do. If you are as stubborn as you appear to be then let us have a challenge, offer me a job at your firm for 30 days and if I didn't change your revenue, "I will Quit and make coffee for the rest of time." Deal? Kapli puts forward her hand to shake.
Raghav never felt tongue-tied in his life before, no one ever gave him such attitude with such confidence and stubbornness.
Arrogantly Raghav replies: Over confidence can be deadly for health, Beware Ms. Yadav. You are messing with someone who never lost a bet in life. Deal once, you cannot back out of it and seals the deal.
K: There is a first time for everything, sir. I'm ready with your challenge; after all I'm my Ma's sherni.
Raghav wonders Ma... Aii say Ma when did that happen.
After Raghav dismisses them, Pakhi scolds Kalpi about being supremely rude to him. He could make your life a living hell.
Kalpi: "I'm not scared of anything but God and as long as God is on my side, I'm least bothered about the guy who didn't even give out his name in the deal. I learned to fight my fears when I was drowning in lake, she added silently.
K POV: zka, that should be his name ziddi, khadoos and akhroo.
Rahul comes and hugs Kalpi and says congrats. Kalpi is like I didn't say anything, he concludes her can see it in her expressive eyes. Kalpi: Can you see me rolling them? What message does that convey? Kalpi phones ring and to see its Ma.
J: Congratulation mere lioness.
K: But?
J: I'm your angel; I got my eyes on you. Don't you dare cry and tell details.
K: I still have a month for college to end with finals coming up. I'm working with RS and she relays the whole interview. 2 months more Ma, then you will be in front of my eyes forever. She relates how she nicknamed her boss name zka and both have a laugh out of that.
J: I can't wait to hug you, my daughter. Now call your aii and baba to relate this news.
Rahul leaves for his lunch date, the interviews for other companies are on-going.
