Part 5
The sound of a gunshot filled the silent
room...Kalpana clenched her eyes shut ready for
the pain to kill her...but it never came.A few
seconds passed by.She felt nothing.She opened
her eyes.Suryesh was nowhere in sight.She
scrunched her eyes in confusion.She looked
down and widened her eyes.There was Suryesh
kneeled on the ground with blood coming out of
his shoulder.He groaned holding his shoulder
where the blood was coming from.Kalpana
opened her mouth not knowing what to do or
say.She looked around and saw Raghav at the
entrance..with a gun.She gasped.He had shot
Suryesh.He looked dangerous in a black shirt
and black jeans.Suryesh got up from the ground
and glared at Raghav.He looked back at Kalpana
and went behind her.He held the gun up and
pressed it to her forehead.
"If you take another step forward,I'll kill her"
Raghav kept his expressions hidden.He glanced at
Kalpana who was trembling in fear.He looked at
Suryesh and smirked."There's a reason my
name is Panther"
There was another gunshot.This time Raghav had
shot him in the leg,making him wince in pain and
let go of the gun.The gun dropped near Kalpana's
feet but far from Suryesh.Four men came from
behind Raghav.Two came towards Kalpana and
untied her rope.The other two grabbed Suryesh
and dragged him out.Once Kalpana was free from
the chair and rope,she stood up.Raghav took a
step towards Kalpana but stopped when he heard
footsteps.Suryesh's men were coming after
him.He narrowed his eyes and took the nearest
table and flinged it at them.A few men dodged
but some got hit.They surrounded him.A
stood calm glancing at each man.He took out his
gun and quickly turned around shooting two
men.The men who had untied Kalpana,ran up to
the men who were trying to surround
Raghav.Kalpana stood alone,witnessing this.She
didn't want to live in a violent world.She knew it
was Panther's world and she couldn't live in
it.She needed to get out.Kalpana looked around
and saw a gun.It was the same gun Suryesh had
pressed against her forehead.She bent down and
hesitantly took it in her grasp.She held it
firmly,standing up,without loosing her focus on
the gun.She had seen how it was used.She
looked at Raghav who kicked away a man.She
went up behind him and pressed the gun against
his forehead.Raghav froze.He turned his head
slightly and saw it was Kalpana.He frowned at
her.
"I need to be free.I can't live in a violent world
like you.Every second fearing for my life...all
because of you.You are a criminal..not me.I am
ready to do anything for my freedom...even if I
have to do something I'll regret later"
"So you will kill me?I doubt that.If you
remember clearly..I was the man you fell in love
with two years ago and I know you still have
feelings for me...admit it"
Kalpana closed her eyes remember their times
together two years ago.Seeing her
distracted,Raghav grabbed Kalpana's hand which
held the gun.Kalpana opened her eyes.Raghav
pressed a button making the bullets fall out and
come into his hand.He flipped Kalpana around
making her back come into contact with his
front.He put the bullets back in and held her
hand.He made her fingers come into contact
with the trigger and the bullets shot out.It hit
each man,that were coming towards them,on
their chests.Kalpana gasped.She tried to get her
hands out from underneath his but when her tries
failed,she closed her eyes and turned her head
away.Once every man was shot,Raghav let go of
Kalpana's hand and took the gun from her putting
it in his back pocket.Kalpana opened her eyes
when the cold metal was taken away from
her.She turned her head and saw there were
many bodies lying on the ground.Living or
dead..she didn't know.All this was scaring
her.She had never seen a dead body before..not
even her parents when they had died.Seeing all
this..she felt suffocated.Kalpana fainted.Raghav
caught her in his arms before she could hit the
ground.He looked at her face examining each
feature.Tucking a strand of hair behind her ear
he said
"Don't worry.One day you'll understand"

Kalpana woke up to a familiar room.Her
room.Where she awoke when she was kidnapped
by him.She couldn't help but feel happy.'I am
safe' thought Kalpana 'But for how long?' She sat
up on the bed and leaned against the
headboard.She let her eyes wander around the
room.Everything was in bright colors.Just how
she preferred.Her favourites colors,her dressing
style,less make-up as she liked,and a huge
mirror in front of her reflecting how she
looked.She gave a small smile as she thought
how Raghav knew her so well.Her room was quite
different then the rest.The others were in a shade
of some dark colors while hers was the only
brightest one.She heard a creak.She didn't have
to look up to know who it was.It was always
him.She looked up anyways and saw Raghav
standing a few feet away from her bed in a clean
white shirt in light blue jeans.She realized she
was still in her orange sari.Kalpana stood up but
didn't apprach him.Raghav walked up to her and
cupped her cheek with one hand.
"Are you okay?"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean from all the events that occurred
today"
"Oh if you mean getting kidnapped again,almost
being killed,and being forced to kill people with
a gun and then faint with shock..then yes I am
okay..but if this continues I won't be"
"Kalpi..I'll make sure to have extra security
and make sure nothing like this happens again"
"For how long Raghav.How long are you going to
keep doing this?Why don't you just let me go?"
"I won't! You are mine and I won't let go of
what's mine!" he yelled.
Kalpana was shocked at his claim.She got angry.
"What do you think?I am some kind of property
which I belong to someone.No I am not! I am a
person not an object for you to claim"
"Then I'll do absolute anything just to make you
mine.You obviously have not seen the heights of
my possessiveness" Raghav turned away and
began walking out of the room but stopped when
he heard her ask
"Where were you two and a half years ago"
He turned pale and quickly turned around. "Why
are you asking such question"
"Suryesh asked me that.He told me you were
missing two and a half years ago.Where were
you then?"
"It does not matter Kalpi" He turned away
from her showing his back to her.
Kalpana walked up to him and pulled his shoulder
turning him around,making him come face to
face with her. "Why doesn't it matter Raghav?
Why don't you answer any of my questions?Why
did you kidnap me?Why did you keep the secret
of being a criminal two years ago?Why did you
come back in my life when I was trying to forget
you?Why did you nearly kill a man just because
I denied calling you Raghav?Why did you nearly
kill another man just because he talked to me
looking into my eyes and asked me for a dance?
Why don't you tell me where you were two and
a half years ago?"
Raghav held Kalpana's upper arms bringing her
close.He said with a firm voice "I know I am
keeping many secrets from you Kalpi and I
also know how much you hate lies and secrets
but I am sorry Kalpi.I am forced to keep this
from you.I can't answer any of your questions
but I will later..when the time is right.Right now
is not the right time"
Kalpana pushed Raghav away "When is the right
time Raghav?What is forcing you to keep such a
big mystery?" She held his collar and brought
him close to her and said in a hushed voice "If
you ever loved me..please tell me"
Raghav's breath hitched.None of them said
anything.One minute passed by.Another minute
passed by.Raghav clenched his fists and said "I
am sorry Kalpi...but I am doing all this for your
safety" He removed her hand from his collar and
left the room leaving a more confused Kalpana.
