Part 19b:Kalpi fainted on RS shoulder. He panicked. Kalpi, Kalpi! get up! what happened? He tried to move and her head slipped from his shoulder and she plonked into his lap. He was like what should I do?
He held her in his right arm and with the left he slapped lightly on her cheek to wake her up..Kalpi get up! S*#*t! He gets up holding her head gingerly so that he does not hurt her. He runs to get a glass of water and sprinkles it on her face. Kalpi blinks her eyes and Raghav heaves a sigh of relief! Kalpi you scared me!
You ok? Kalpi shook her head saying no I am feeling giddy.
Did you eat anything since morning? Kalpi nods in negative.
She tries to sit up but fails miserably. Raghav holds her again and makes her sit up and makes her drink water. She gulps the water and feels much better. Raghav is holding her by her waist and kalpi is leaning on him for support. Suddenly Raghav realises that her body temperature was very high. He could feel her skin burning hot!
Kalpi you are hot, he said! Not realising what he said and Kalpi was on guard. She tried to break free from his hold and said disgusted, chee! what kind of conversation is this?
Raghav realised his mistake and twitched his lips and bit them apologetically and gave a sheepish smile. I did not mean that Kalpi! I meant you have a fever. Not that you are not hot he muttered under his breath!.
Kya? asked Kalpi. It seemed her voice had turned into whispers as she did not have the energy to even talk leave alone argue with the akdoo Singhania!!
She held his hand and rested again on his shoulder, I am hungry she said. Raghav was elated to see her so close to him especially when she came close to him by herself. He looked at her with oozing passion and came very close to her face. Kamla maa will be back I am sure she will give you something to eat. Just wait for few more minutes.
He came even closer and straightened her bangs on her forehead and caressing her cheeks. He could feel the heat in her breath. She really had high fever. He was concerned for her. Should I call the doctor, Kalpi? She did not reply. Her eyes were closed and it seemed she was dozing off. Raghav wanted to call the doctor and realised he left the medicines down in the car. He wanted to call Sammy but his phone was in his pocket and he had to get up. Again he held Kalpi by her waist with one hand and turned and tried to make her sleep. They were in an awkward position when Vitthal had opened the door.
He was shocked at what he saw! To him it seemed that Raghav was kissing Kalpi and huggin her. Enraged though he was, he thought he did not want to embarass Kalpi and just banged the door hard. Raghav turned to look behind and saw Vitthal.
Uncle can you help me. It seems Kalpi fainted! That's when Vitthal realised that he had misunderstood the whole scene. Feeling guilty that he doubted his own rajkumari he rushed to her side.
Raghav freed himself from Kalpi's hold unwillingly and called Sammy to get the medicines upstairs.
Raghav informed Vitthal that Kalpi has not had food and her medicines should be given on time. Kamla enters and finds everyone around Kalpi.
She gets worried and then Sammy too comes with the medicines. He hands them over to Kamla and explains it to her when to be taken. He is very concerned and his hands are shaky. Sammy notices Kalpi's parents looking at him confused and in bewilderment to see him so hyper and worked up. Sammy gives him a slight nudge and tells him Raghav yeh Kalpi ke parents hain humse achha jaante hain uska khayaal rakhna (they r her parents and can take care of her quite well.) and raises his eyebrows.
Raghav realises he is being hyper and takes a deep breath and says no its just that she fainted and I got scared. Its ok I think we should leave Kamla bai. Thanks I mean byee. And he leaves with Sammy and turns to see a glimpse of 'his' Kalpi who was sleeping like the sleeping beauty on the sofa. He left with a sigh and a pain in his heart to be away from her, not be able to see her in office for next few days. Sammy held him by his arm and led him to the car and he took the keys from Raghav and they drove off.
Kamla then got busy in looking after Kalpi leaving Vitthal in confused thoughts about Raghav Baba's behavior that evening.
