A Twisted Tale Part 21
Raghav's reaction was more than enough for Sammy to understand that they were in big trouble...
Sammy: what is it Raghav??
Raghav: Something is wrong
Pakhi: (suspiciously) what's wrong Raghav
Raghav: (trying to be calm) don't panic, but the breaks are not working...
Everybody was in shock.. Pakhi started fretting. Even Kalpi was nervous. Raghav told Sammy to move to back seat...
Sammy: but Raghav...
Raghav was in no mood of listening anything
Raghav: do wt I said Sammy.
Kalpi: (as if reading Raghav's mind) What's is in your mind... are you planning to...
Raghav: (before she finishes off) yeah may be.. we have no other option... but to jump off the running car..
Sammy: we can't do that in the middle of this busy road..
Raghav: I know,,, we need to change th..
Kalpi:(directing Raghav) take right from here, there is an underdeveloped road this way... it may work..
Without second thought Raghav turned the car in the said direction... it was getting more difficult for raghav to control the speed, the road isn't completed.. they had to jump then or they were finished!
Raghav: Sammy, take care of Pakhi
Sammy: what about you and Kalpi, I can't leave you here...
Raghav: this is no time for argument so plz jump... now!!!
Sammy looked at kalpi...
She was also terrified but trying hard not to show it...
Pakhi: Kalpi tujhe chhodkar kaise...
Kalpi: go Pakhi, ab tu zid mt kar..Sammy take cr of her, I'll be fine...
Pakhi looked at Sammy, the fear was clearly visible in her eyes. Sammy asked Pakhi to hold him tight. Pakhi followed his instructions. She closed her eyes and they jumped off the car. They rolled into the forest..
Raghav: you too have to jump now.. before the next turn
Kalpi: (suspiciously) what about you..??
Raghav: no questioning, you'll do as I said.. I hv to handle the steering wheel...
Kalpi: forget it!!! m not leaving you here alone!
Raghav:WT hell!!! listen to..
Kalpi: (arguing) I'm nt going anywhere without you.. that's final.
Raghav's POV: I can't believe this, why is she making it more difficult for me... And I know she won't jump until I do... think of something Raghav,, quick... suddenly some idea stuck his mind.
Raghav: Kalpi I'm not sure if it will work, but right now this is the only option we are left with and we have no time to waste..
He asked Kalpi to give her a rope which was kept under the seat and tied it to the steering wheel... by holding the rope he immediately came to back seat...
Raghav: (looking into her eyes) Kalpi...you know... I'm sorry for hurting you..
Kalpi: (confused) why are you saying so??
Raghav: (looking away now) just in case!!!
He could not say anything further.
Kalpi: (keeping hand on his shoulder) we will make it, Raghav.
The intense and hopeful expressions on her face motivated Raghav.
Raghav: No matter what happens, don't look up.
Saying this he jumped off the car... they rolled over from road to slope and then to the other side of jungle...
After few minutes/evening
Pakhi and Sammy was trying to find their way out... but failed. They were also worried about Raghav & Sammy.
Pakhi: vo log theek to honge na???
Sammy: I hope so... are you alright..
Pakhi: hmmm... ab kya karenge hum
Sammy: don't worry rasta mil jayega vo bhi jaldi,,,
He started walking and Pakhi followed him...
Pakhi: So Sammy, do you come here more often???
Sammy: what?????? Of course not! Why??
Pakhi: (smilingly) the way you said k rasta mil jayega mujhe laga tum yahan aate jate rehte ho...
Sammy only rolled up his eyes... they kept on walking and walking and reached a cliff like top
Pakhi: (exclaimed) wowww
Sammy: (surprisingly) what wow misss Kapoor??
Pakhi: (excitedly) can't u see Sammy... we are actually lost in this jungle... Isn't it romantic?
Sammy: (stopped walking and turned toward her) Romantic!!! Ohh yeah let me guess do you fancy romancing with some wild animal...
Pakhi: I was talking about u & me alone in this jungle... why are you talking to me so rudely.
Sammy: ohh m sorry Miss Kapoor for talking to you, but now we better not talk...
Pakhi: (trying to explain) why are you so angry??? I'm trying to make things normal between us.
Sammy: (retorts) don't bother, you know why because there is no us!
Pakhi: (in dejected tone) Then why did you save me... dying would have been easier than this unbearable pain!
Tears were rolling down her cheeks. Sammy was feeling bad for making her cry but still stood still.
Sammy: you know what if you wanna come with me, just keep quiet.
He started walking again.
Pakhi: I can't walk more... I'm tired...
Sammy: don't think I'm gonna piggy back you... so stop your drama and walk.
Paakhi: (angrily) I can't walk anymore. I need to rest, I'm resting here.
She sat over a big rock.
Sammy: then you take rest here and I'm going...
Pakhi: (more shocked than surprised) you are leaving me alone???
Sammy: (grinning) no not alone, many wild animals will accompany you soon Princess Kapoor.
Pakhi: you can't do this because you care for me..
Sammy: (rudely) No I don't. You can stay here but I won't come back.
Pakhi: if that's what you want then go... I won't go anywhere till you come back to take me!!
Sammy: best of luck coz I'm not coming.
Pakhi: (almost crying) fine, if you hate me this much and feel nothing for me I would love to die...
Sammy left without giving her a glance.
Pakhi's POV: I can't take this anymore... I'm not going anywhere from here... he would have to come back for me... but what if he didn't come... fir kya Pakhi, I'm ready to become dinner of wild animals.
She heard the roar of tiger... she was trembling but was still sticking to her decision. It was getting deep dark now. Suddenly, she heard someone coming towards her. She closed her eyes tightly as the noise was getting closer and closer... something was crawling over her hands, and she screamed.
Pakhi: (screaming with her eyes closed) nobody has eaten me ever before... please go easy on me...
She opened her eyes when she heard someone laughing loudly. Sammy was standing before her. Without thinking she ran towards him and hugged him tightly..
Pakhi: I was so scared... when did you come??
Sammy: (hugging her too) I never left... I was here only, watching your reactions to every sound I made.
Pakhi: (smacking him in chest) you were making fun of me... you scared me to death (crying now)
Sammy: (still holding her and rubbing her back) hey hey Pakhi.. I'm sorry to scare you, but would have not let anything happen to you. Btw the way you were pleading for going easy on you was so cute (teased).
Pakhi: (pouting) stop it... I thought it was a tiger.
Sammy: (sarcastically) really, I didn't know tigers speak English
Pakhi: (in mock anger) stop it Sammy or I'll kill you
Sammy: (pulling her closer) will you??
Pakhi looked into his eyes and gave a slight shrug.
Sammy: (still gazing into her chocolate brown eyes) thought so!
They had so idea that since how long they had been in each other's arms. Only a strong thunderbolt brought them out of their stance. Pakhi took a step back and was blushing. Sammy too wasn't sure if he was dreaming or was that actually happening.
Sammy: we need to find a place to stay... I wish I had a phone to call up someone for help.
Pakhi: (realising something) ohhh yeah phone... I'm not sure if it's still functioning but we can give it a try.
She pulled out her cell phone out from her pocket and gave it to Sammy. He was looking at her in disbelief.
Sammy: (raising his eyebrows) you had this phone with you all this time???????????
Pakhi: (innocently) yeah,,, but I realised it just now, why?????
Sammy: (smacked his head and laughed) nothing! Let me check.
He checked the phone, for their god luck it was still working, and they were still in the range of signals.
Sammy: (happily) it's working, it's working. He dialled the number one of his reliable man and told him everything. He told him about their location. The man assured him of help and asked them to stay there only.
Sammy: you know you saved our lives today... btw did I tell you, you too is the best for me and I'll accept you with all your flaws if you accept me too (chuckled)
Pakhi was looking at him with her eyes wide open.
Sammy: Happy Valentine's Day Pakhi (smiled)
Pakhi hugged him in excitement. Sammy brought her face up to him. His fingers was trailing down over her face.. Pakhi put her arms around his neck.. he leaned in to kiss her on the lips... She reciprocates with the same passion. For next few seconds they were completely lost in each other. They knew there was no one around to interrupt this moment. Then they parted away.
Pakhi: (shyly) I hope Sammy now you that I love you...
Sammy just lifted her off her feet and twirled her around.
Sammy: I know I know I know... and I love you too.
They were now sitting there with hand in hand and talking about everything.
Pakhi: I was right na... it is romantic.
Sammy: (pressing her hand) yesss it is so romantic that I have to try so hard to keep my nerves under control.
Even in the dim light of moon, he could see her face turning red.
Just then they heard the noise of a helicopter, it was the search party. Sammy and Pakhi both started waving their hands to them and then a light fall over them. The search party took them along..
Sammy: our friends are also in this jungle only... did you find someone else
The crew leader responded in negative.
Pakhi: Kalpi and Raghav theek honge na
Sammy: (comforting her) I'm sure they are alright, they have to be!
