" how are feeling now mom...??? " asked manvi sitting beside mitali.
" fine... " replied mitali.
virat entered the room with a plastic basket.
" good morning mother-in-law... " said virat.
" good morning son-in-law... "
" hey my dear husband... what did you bring...??? " said manvi.
" fruits and some soup for starters... then lunch... " replied virat giving the basket to manvi.
" hmm... virat but i wonder mom will be able to have soup... confirm it once with the doc... " said manvi.
" i will talk to the doctor " said mahesh and went out of the room to see the doctor.
" mujhe soup nahi chahie... " mitali said making a face.
" no have no choice mom... u have to... " manvi said sternly.
" manvi is right mom in law... " said virat placing his hands on manvi's shoulders.
manvi looked up at virat's face who was standing behind her like a pillar... her pillar of strength.
" whatever... " said mitali.
manvi giggled on seeing her mother behave like a small kid. this reminded manvi of kasak and the smile from her face disappeared.
" honeybun...?? mannu...??? " said mitali on seeing manvi's face.
virat light shook manvi and it brought manvi out of her daze.
" huh..."
" kya hua hai manvi...??? " asked virat.
" virat... woh... kasak... maine usko dekha bhi nahi ek din se... " replied manvi.
" arrey mast hai woh... u dont have to sentimental all the time... " virat said shaking his head and wiping a tear that rolled down manvi's cheek.
mitali looked at manvi and virat and smiled thanking god for giving her daughter such a great life and an understanding husband.

" come in... " said virat.
the door opened and maan entered the hospital room with naina following him. manvi stood up from the stool and smiled at them. naina returned the smile and smiled at virat. maan took steps towards mitali's bed and looked at her without blinking his eyes for once. manvi found it a little strange the way maan was looking at mitali and looked at virat.
" how are you...?? " slowly asked maan in an almost unaudible voice.
naina went to the other side of the bed and held mitali's hand.
" theek hoon... " replied mitali.
mahesh walked in the room and stood next to manvi.
" they will give her food themselves... mat be a little soup " said mahesh.
mahesh looked at naina and then at the man whose back was facing him.
" maan... naina's husband... " said manvi to fill her father with information.
" achha... " mahesh whispered to manvi.
" mujhe kal raat hi pta lga... " said maan.
" koi nahi beta... its okk... " said mitali.
maan looked at naina and she nodded at him signalling him to just say the truth.
" par heart attack... kaise...??? " asked maan.
" tension lene lag gayi hai yeh... pta nahi kis cheez ki... sab toh hai humare paas... khush hain... kiski kami hai... " said mahesh.
it somehow pained maan to hear this. his fears about various things were coming back to him. " were they happy without him...??? do they even remember him...??? do they miss him...??? do they need him back...??? will they trust him...??? will they accept him...?? are they complete without him...??? " thought maan. thinking about all this brought tears in maan's eyes and a tear roll down his eye.
maan looked at naina, mitali and then at manvi, virat and... and... his father. maan couldnt look away from mahesh and mahesh also felt a magnetic pull towards maan.
naina figured out how difficult was it for maan to reveal the truth so she decided she would start the topic if not maan.
" humko kuch kehna hai... btana hai... " said naina.
maan turned and looked at naina.
" kuch nahi kehna humko... " said maan and stood up from the stool.
" kya ho raha tum miya biwi ke beech...?? kabhi haan kabhi naa... " asked virat raising his eyebrow.
" aunty... aunty woh maan na... " said naina.
" maan kya...?? " asked mitali.
" naina lets go... ." maan said with a heavy voice.
" maan... maan aapke bete hain... manav... " said naina ignoring the silent request from her husband to leave the stone unturned.
everyone in the room froze... unable to process what naina just said... they werent able to digest the new piece of information told to them.
" kya...??? kya kaha... ??? " mitali asked naina.
" who told you about my brother...??? who naina... ??? " asked manvi.
even the mention of manav's name used to make manvi over emotional and sensitive. a mention of his name, used to bring back those fond yet blurred memories of her manav bhaiya and the pain of losing his brotherly love and company.
" mannu i... maan told me... " replied naina.
maan was standing silently looking at the floor trying to bottle up his emotions which were ready to overflow anytime.
" mera beta... " said mitali and tried getting up from the bed but she was about to fall off when virat saved her from.
" careful aunty... " said virat holding mitali's hand and making her lie down again on the bed.
" main... mere paas koi proof nahi hai... sirf kuch dhundhli (blurred) yaadein... kuch nahi mere paas... ek gold chain hai bas... woh bhi daadi ne mujhe di... " said maan trying to convince all of them that he isnt lying and this is all he knows.
" koi proof nahi chahie... yeh mera manav hai... iski aankhein... mera beta hai yeh... " said mahesh with confidence which couldnt be questioned.
maan looked at mahesh and without wasting a minute, went up to him and hugged him.
" thank you... thank you papa... aap... aap mujhse pyaar karte ho na... " asked maan.
" haan... pagal kya hai...??? aisa koi puchta hai kya...??? itna bda ho gya hai... aisa bolega... " said mahesh giving all of his love to his son in one single breath.
" ab koi mujhse pyaar nahi karta kya...?? " asked manvi.
" arrey i love you re... " virat whispered to manvi.
" shut up virat... " manvi said to virat.
manvi joined the duo and hugged them.
" bhai... i missed you... soo much... lagta tha apko kabhi nahi dekh paungi... aap... aap mere paas par... par fir bhi... fir bhi main pehchaan nahi payi... im sorry bhai... " cried manvi hugging maan.
" its okk... main bhi toh nahi pehchaan paya na... tum sab ke paas tha par... uss din maa ko pehli baar dekha na... toh uss din kuch hua tha... ek ajeeb sa ehsaas tha... aisa lga ke ye sab bahut jaana pehchaana hai... " said maan brushing manvi's hair and giving her his affection.
seeing this naina couldnt stop the tears rolling down her cheeks and hugged mitali, who hugged her back. manvi broke the hug and smiled at maan.
" ye mujhe toh bhul hi gaya hai... " said mitali to naina.
" main toh hoon na aunty... " replied naina.
" nahiii mummma... " said maan suddenly becoming possessive of his mother.
maan went to mitali bed and sat on the stool.
" so you kinda love naina more...??? " asked maan.
" ofcourse aunty loves me more than anyone... even more than mannu... " said naina as a matter of fact.
" hawww... jhoothi... " said manvi in disbelief.
virat giggled on seeing the cutest family scene ever.
" main kabhi yahan tha nahi na... never been a part of you all... " said maan.
" you were also there... in our hearts... and yeh shaitaan bhi toh yahin thi... teri naina... " said mitali placing her one hand on maan's cheek.
" yeahh right... nain cover ups for me most of the time... " replied maan and hugged the duo - mitali and naina.
manvi without wasting a second, hugged her family... her family which was now complete...
mahesh had tears in his eyes and virat saw it on time and hugged him.
" its son-in-law and father-in-law time... this is all we can get today... " said virat jokingly.
" sahi hai... " said mahesh.
after all the reunion and overflow of emotions, naina sat with manvi enjoying their tea and catching up. maan and virat sat with mitali and mahesh cut fruits for them and made them eat it.
" i havent realised it but you are my bhabhi now... nainu bhabhi... " said manvi taking a sip of her tea.
" yeahhh... but mannu dont me bhabhi... it feels like my 50 years old... " said naina shaking her head in a no.
" nainu 50 years old... god spare me the horror... " said maan.
" horror...??? i hate you...!!! " uttered naina and crossed her arms against her chest.
manvi giggled again on seeing this and then looked at virat. virat was already looking at manvi and when manvi raised one of her eye brow at virat. he shook his head a little and then signalled her that they (maan naina) are arguing like them. manvi understood it and smiled at him... a smile that reached her eyes.
" kal karwachauth hai... " said mitali in a soft tone.
" arrey haan... " replied manvi in realisation.
" kya arrey haan...??? relax... will you...?? " virat said to manvi.
" what do u mean by relax...??? im not panicking... im suddenly very excited... " replied manvi in a i-know-it-all tone.
" suno toh sahi... " interrupted mitali.
" kal meri beti aur meri bahu dono ka vrat hai... toh its has to be special... virat its your responsibilty... and mera beta mere paas rahega... " said mitali.
" not fair... " shrugged manvi.
" jealous by nature... " commented naina and giggled.
" haha... very funny " replied manvi.
" naina... " said maan and looked at naina.
" what...??? she is my bff first... " replied naina.
" guys, yeh entertainment ghar chal ke continue karte hai... aunty needs rest right now... " suggested virat.
everyone bid goodbye to mitali and got ready to leave. maan was still sitting beside mitali adamant to stay there.
" maan... manav what should i call you...??? " said virat brushing his fingers through his hair.
" whatever is easy... no stress... " replied maan with a warm smile.
" okk cool... so maan come with us home... or go home and rsst... its been so stressing and aunty also needs rest. the hospital staff wont allow you to stay here in the room by the way... " said virat.
" yeah bhai... virat is soo very right... " commented manvi.
" yes you all go home... " whispered mitali before dozzing off to sleep.
" see aunty was soo tired... " said naina.

" mummaaa... " kasak ran to manvi as vanshika opened the door.

vanshika made how brewing cup of coffee for all and they sat in the lobby talking.

kasak got up and went to maan.

" you love me... more than nain...??? " asked kasak looking at maan with a cute pout and shining eyes.

kasak showed her tongue to naina and hugged maan.

" yes... " replied kasak smiling widely.

the initial chappy was way too melodramatic... it was stressing...
