PART 3
"Excuse me" she sighed after calling one of the passenger service agents. "Yes Madam! How can I help you"? Enquired a juvenile man adorning one of the polite ways in which passengers are addressed. "Is there any other flight for Goa any soon"? She asked impatiently tapping on the desk with her finger while the person was busy verifying the computer.
"We are extremely sorry Madam. There isn't any flight for today which can take you to Goa. There is one though for which you'd have to wait for another 24 hours." he said finally diverting his eyes from the computer screen to her. She faked a courteous smile to the person before groaning in frustration. She took her cell out briskly dialing a number. "Pick up the phone Priya" she chanted along as the phone kept ringing. She had her lucky stars revolving around her that the speaker on the other side picked up the phone without wasting any more time.
"Hey Manvi, have you reached Goa? Priya asked making herself settle on the sofa after a day's long work.
"No I haven't, and I guess I won't be able to" Manvi growled recollecting her unsuccessful flight journey. She got herself seated on the nearby chair as she held the phone much closer to her ear.
"What happened? You already sound disappointing, even before seeing your going-to-be Fiance" Priya joked sprawling on the bed giggling. She always had a passion to tease her childhood friend, Manvi. They were like "ek jism do jaan", if there was someone for Manvi who has a large place in her life after her sister then it is Priya.
"Oh Purleese! Do you really think I'd marry that computer geek? The last time I met him I had creeps when he gifted me that "How to make your soul and mind divine-able to the all mighty". Trust me; I wouldn't be surprised if he turns me into a saint after our marriage touring around Himalayas" Manvi whimpered thinking about her future. She shook her head vigorously taking that into a nightmare.
"I could very well imagine that" Priya laughed throwing her work bag aside and packing her journey bags.
"That's like a nightmare to me, I have no idea how he even got into the software industry." Manvi stretched her limbs lazily and took on heels to the waiting slot where her luggage was kept along with a nuisance to her already tired state.
"Then why meeting him? You could save two precious days of your life"? Priya questioned confused while stuffing her bag with clothes. Manvi tiredly threw a drained out smile and continued her sad tale. "It's just that my parents are forcing me that I'm even considering meeting him twice, or I would have declined this so-called "golden offer" according to my mom for the first time I met him." Priya laughed heartily at her friend who was in a fix as to what to do.
"Let me give you an advice, skip the marriage, screw the guy, and baby come with me to London and have a nice holiday out" she said giving a million dollar advice.
"I suppose that was a joke, because if I do it in real my mom will defiantly sue me and along with me you'd get yourself sued for this idea" Manvi spoke jolting from her seat.
"Okay then, I think you're mom might be thinking that meeting him twice at your cousins wedding would change your mind" Priya said finally scanning her room to check if she had left anything behind.
"Hell no! And besides I don't think I would meet him anyway as I'm stuck in Mumbai" Manvi broke the news for which she had actually called. She sluggishly sat near her luggage looking for the troublesome person she had been hanging for about the last six hours.
"W-Whatt? Priya stuttered dropping her bag on the floor. She couldn't believe her friend is in the same city right now where she currently lives. She squealed in excitement thinking about meeting her after six long years. But her excitement was short-lived as she looked at her journey bags. She had to rush to London within today on some work.
"I exactly know why you have called me now, don't worry I would send my driver to pick you up from the airport and drop you down at my house, then you can again catch the flight for Goa tomorrow." She spoke ghastly in just one breath. She sat relaxed on the sofa and started speaking again, "But you have got a problem here".
"What is it"? Manvi asked tiredly not being able to take any more trouble after all the distress she had went through. "My flight is just in two hours at international airport so you have to quickly go when the driver comes to the national airport where you are, okay"? She stated the whole thing. Though Manvi couldn't get most of it, she nodded her head approvingly and murmured a thank you before finally taking a sigh of relief.
She glanced in the entire hall to spot Virat, but he wasn't there. She couldn't even call out to him as both of them didn't know each other's name expect for their faces. She surveyed her handbag if she had her passport but was taken aback when she couldn't get it. Just then she saw the Casanova flirting with a stewardess and the girl coyly twirling to his words. She started checking each and every bag for her passport like a mad bull looking for a red cloth before the race.
He seated himself yawning and getting hold of something which looked like a passport from under the chair. He let out a chuckle viewing her passport.
"Manvi Chaudhary do you always have this annoying face on or it comes to you occasionally?" he questioned pointing her photo in the passport book. She snatched her passport causing him smirk at her.
"Why do you always find ways to annoy me when I'm in a hurry" she demanded narrowing her eyes a little. "That's because..." he stopped abruptly looking at her confused, "Hurry? Where are you going"? He inquired raising his brow.
"I have got better things to do than answer your questions" she finally took all her belongings and sprung on her feet before he could question any further.
"Priya Madam, I can't find the girl you mentioned to me" the driver spoke after parking the car in the parking lot. "Go in and see" Priya spoke loudly cursing the lazy driver under her breath. The driver peered in to the large crowd inside the airport and walked away not able to find Manvi.
"Sure, don't expect me to stop you" he said glancing at his phone again. He did have an itching to stop her; his journey to Goa would be boring without her. Let it be fights, but there was something to keep him going in his journey. He wished with his heart full of desire to stop her anyway possible.
"Ah, I wouldn't stop even if you try to stop me, do you get that? I have already been dog-tired listening to your nonsense" she spoke with attitude putting her handbag around her shoulder and the remaining bags in her hands.
He was sure-fire that she would stop; he had a hunch that she would. He looked solemnly at the figure that trailed away into the thin crowd. He sighed thinking about leading his journey alone from now on. It is strange but he already had inkling towards her. She is different from all the girls he had met till now. Infact she is the first girl who had grown upon a hate angle towards him the first time she had seen him. He felt strange about how he still wandered in her thoughts whilst she was gone. He smiled subtly moving on to the seat when he saw her scarf left on his bag. He took it immediately and slipped from his seat to a run.
"Manvi...Manvi! He kept shouting whilst she stood outside the airport. He reached to her huffing while she turned her head feeling completely exhausted. "Are you deaf or what"? I had been calling you like a mad but you stood like a statue here" he rhetorically asked.
"You know sometimes I feel that the events taking place in my life right now are all because of you, I haven't been such a damsel in distress ever", she wailed looking at the car moving away making dusty clouds.
"So you finally agree, well don't worry I could cast a magic with my looks on a damsel in distress" he said examining her from top to bottom.
"Quit checking me out, and take me to Goa" she said creasing her forehead and pleading him through her eyes.
"I didn't hear, repeat it again" He asked enjoying the situation she was in. He felt achieving the biggest victory when she asked for his help.
"I said take me to Goa, deaf or what"? She asked taking his fervor in, he was annoying her to limits. He adorned his face with one of those boyish grins and crossed his hands over his chest.
"Is there something called politeness"? He asked smirking. He was clearly enjoying this. "Please take me to Goa; I'd be so thankful to you. I don't know what I would have done without you; you're like my knight in shining armor." She pleaded faking gratefulness.
"Enough of your drama wait till I get my luggage" he said before murmuring a quick thank you to God. He walked in covering his eyes behind the shades whilst she kicked the parking slot stand near her taking away all her anger.
