Precious time!!
"Virat? Why do you always do this? Today is my birthday for godsakes; your mom had organized this grand party and everyone was waiting for you. And you show up now? This is not done Virat" Manvi stormed into their bedroom. Virat followed her.
Virat holding his head and looks very frustrated, he takes in a deep breath to calm himself down. He half-smiles and says "Manvi, I know baby, I am sorry, you know how it is, I got struck at work. It is the end of the year and this employee strike to top it all, please baby maan jao, I don't want to see you like this today yaar" he pleads, trying to hold her.
Manvi pushes him away "Am like this only today? I am like this everyday Virat, I can't take it anymore. I left everything in London behind for you, my life, my friends, my career, to be with you, here. What for? I am never with you. Do you remember the last time we had a good laugh or a decent conversation?"
"You cannot even take 30 minutes out for me everyday? You treat me like I am an obligation, that you have responsibilities towards me? When did we turn into this couple Virat? You used to spend time with me because you wanted to. You could not stay away from me even for a weekend this time last year. And now? Now, you make excuses to explain why you cannot be with me."
Manvi had been very patient since the last nine months after they moved to India. Virats' dad handed over his business to him and went on a cruise trip for one full year and who knows even longer. He had been overwhelmed with work so much that he hardly had time for himself, let alone for his wife.
"And you used to be fun-loving; not sabotage the only time I manage to squeeze out for you out of my insanely hectic schedule" Virat blurted out very angrily leaving Manvi shell-shocked.
Tears were dripping down her eyes uncontrollably "I can't believe you just said that Virat!!!" she broke down, "I miss you Virat!! I hardly ever see you. I don't want to fight with you jaan, but I am going crazy. I wait desperately to hear your voice all day and you come home in the midnight only to say a 'goodnight sweety, I am tired.' and you slip out early, even before I wake up in the morning."
Virat could not look at Manvi anymore he rushes to hug her "No honey, I know, I know how you feel. I swear I will make it up to you. Very soon, all the problems will subside and I promise, we will go on a vacation. Just you and me. Please be a little more patient. Everyone is sitting on my neck Manvi, I know I have been putting you on the backfoot but please understand my situation baby, please, please don't cry."
Manvi hugs him tightly as Virat consoles her very sweetly, wiping her tears off. "You have no idea how much I am missing you sweetheart, you think I enjoy being away from you like this? Not one bit. This is driving me crazy too. But Dad left me in deep waters without teaching me how to swim and I am trying my best not to let anyone down Manvi. Thousands of people are depending on our company. Just imagine what will happen to them, and to all of us, if I give up" "I love you so much, you know that, more than anything else, and maybe that's why I take you for granted" Manvi's nose became red in color due to all the crying and she was looking like a cute little girl at Virat. She felt bad now. Her husband works so hard and she upsets him the minute he walks into the house.
"I love you too Virat, so much. I am so sorry, I should not have fought with you like this. Its just that I never see you these days." She looked at him smiling and hugs him again.
"Sirf huggie??" Virat asks, slowly pulling her closer by her waist sending down cold shivers. She looked at him blushing "Wow, finally Virat Vadhera in romantic mood, I was thinking that you were having an affair or something ___"
"Kyaaa??
"___aur nahi toh kya? What would you think about a husband who is not interested in his wife?? Tum toh aaise behave kar rahe the ki u got converted to a monk ya woh sadhu baba types"
"Maaanvi?? Dimaaag phir gaya tumhara, paaagli" "Come here, let me show you how romantic your husband is" he winked, and he pulled her more close and was looking into her eyes deeply, closing in the gap between their lips slowly." Manvi pushes him away slightly. "Not so fast hubby dearest, you have kept me waiting for so long, so it's my turn now" Manvi started walking backwards with her hand on his chest.
"Hmmm" Virat nodded his head looking at her with complaining look. "Manvi, come here!!"
"Kyu aao main??"Manvi showed him her thumbs-down.
Virat walking towards her desperately "Don't do this to me yaar. This is not fair!"
Manvi started running, she ran into their balcony and Virat ran behind her. There was a cool breeze coming in from outside, there were jasmine and lily plants in there, smelling intoxicatingly sweet. Virat managed to grab her hand and pulled her back, she fell hard on his broad chest. He pushed her against the wall, pinning both her hands on it. He looked into her eyes, which were hard to read now, she looked away; her eyes still watching him from the corners. The breeze made her hair fall onto her face and she looked extremely gorgeous in a pink colored saree with little bit of golden work on it.
"You are looking so sexy in this saree Manvi" he said nibbling her ear. Manvi was smiling coyly. He slowly placed his hand on her bare waist and propped her towards him, he pushed her hair back behind her ears and slowly felt the shape of her face, making Manvi tremble with his touch. He slowly brought his hand down, tracing her neck as she looked away red in the face tensing, each and every facial muscle. He keep piercing her with his gaze; he slowly removed her saree palluu and planted passionate kisses on her neck as Manvi squeezed his arm nervously. He stopped and looked at her for a second; he smiled looking her, her face was overcome with a red tinge and she was biting her lower lip, driving him crazy. He touched her lips with his fingers; she opened her eyes to meet his, she immediately looked away and he turned her face back to face him again. He held her chin and brought it close to him. He kissed her lips, tenderly at first and then deeply and passionately as if there was no tomorrow. "Happy birthday jaaan" he whispered.
Manvi smiled, she wanted him as much as he did, she craved for his touch all these days, she kissed him back totally uninhibited, and totally surrendering to his desire. He scooped her up in his arms and took her inside and placed her gently on their bed. He looked at her so beautiful, so sexy and so in love with him, unwilling to even let go of his hand. He switched off the lights and took her on a trip to the land of passion and unbound love, both of them relishing each and every second of this precious time together.

She woke up in the morning and he was gone, again. She sighed disappointed closing her eyes. Her phone rang.
"Hello, my sleeping beauty" the voice said.
"Virat! you left, already" Manvi threw a fit.
"Baby, it's not my fault you wake up so late" Virat teased her.
"waise, I forgot to give you something yesterday"
"Kya??"
"your birthday gift, it's on your dresser"
Manvi ran excited and saw an envelope in which there were tickets "trip to Paris? Two full weeks?? Haaaye mein wari jaawan..you just killed me Virat..sorry baby.. .that I fought with you " she said a little sad, thinking of all the things she said to him yesterday night.
She heard him smile. "I have gotten used to your drama by now. Don't you think???"
"I love you sooo much Virat"
"You sure about that?? I might be late tonight" Virat asked
"Yes, as long as you are taking me to Paris, for two-full-weeks" she grinned lost in her imagination.
"ok baba, that's the plan and I love you too, a lot" Virat said hanging up shaking his head. 'drama queen' he thought.
