Well guys this is the final part,, I've kept it short and sweet, (well not that sweet.) I will not ramble on now as I have made a comment at the end. ENJOY :D
Part Seven
As the boys headed back to Maanvi's room, Viren wondered how he would tell Jeevika about Maanvi's state. As he peered into her room he saw that Jeevika sitting by her side, holding her hand as she lay unconscious. How could he talk to her alone and let her know? This wasn't the time to hiding the facts.
Quietly they walked in, Jeevika looked up and noticed that both their eyes were red and that Virat seemed to be hiding away from her. As she looked at Viren, he lightly smiled at her. He wanted to tell her the truth, but how?
Jeevika rose, kissing her baby on the forehead. She walked over to Viren, looked in straight in the eye and asked him, what he knew. Unable to hide this any longer, Viren narrated the doctor's conclusions.
Jeevika felt weak and held on to the bed for support. Viren quickly grabbed her by the shoulders, as he was worried she might collapse. Adamant that there was something they could do, she argued with the boys about the next step in treatment. She couldn't give up, not now, not ever.
Without anyone noticing, Maanvi had woken up; a light cough startled them all. Dropping their conversation, they focused all their attention on her. As she looked up, she saw the people who meant the world to her. She knew about her state, even without them telling her.
She took Jeevika's hand "Di, it's fine." trying to hold back her tears Jeevika tried reassuring Maanvi.
"No Maanu, I'll do something, we will find a way, we have come too far to give up now. I'll give you my kidney, hell I'll give you my entire life. I'm..."
Slowly Maanvi reached out for Jeevika's hand, Maanvi was taking long deep breaths, and in a quiet voice she spoke
"Di, enough. I know that you will fight the world for me and will happily sacrifice everything, but we can't beat this." Jeevika crawled into bed with Maanvi,
"It's ok, it really is. I don't want you to give me your kidney," she tapped Jeevika hands "listen Di. I love you and will love you until time ends, but this is it. We fought, you fought but now it's over, and I want to spend this time with the ones that I love. You, Virat and Jiju.
Jiju?" she whispered, Viren stepped forward and took her hand and gazed at both his wife and sister-in-law in the bed.
"Jiju, you know you are the best Jiju right, and the perfect match for my sister. I know I affected your marriage – I guess that is the understatement of the year, but you never gave up. In your marriage and in Di..." She took both their hands and joined them together.
"Take care of her will you." With those short sweet words, Viren couldn't hold back his tears anymore, they streamed down his cheek. He crouched down beside the bed and hugged them. Virat stood there, in the sidelines watching his family break down as they were losing Maanvi.
In a slow deep breath Maanvi signalled Virat, "Virat?? Did you know that you were my partner? In every context of the word, I only wished that it didn't have to end here. You have ... been there for everything. Just remember to have to fun, I've turned you into someone who is too serious- laugh, have fun and enjoy yourself." As he bent down to kiss her, she murmured I love you. He finally heard those words, he always knew she felt the same and now neither of them had any regrets.
She turned and looked at her sister, who was laying beside her in her bed. She brushed her fingers across her face, "Di, just remember that you once had a sister, who loved you more than she loved herself. And never think you did not do enough, you left no stone unturned for me."
As she looked at them all she remembered all the moments that she shared. The flashbacks of her life seem to run before her eyes. She remembered the times she cried on the shoulders of her Jiju and the memories of teasing him about her Di.
She remembered her first meeting and the moment she realised that she was in love with Virat. She laughed at the memories of their fights and make-ups. She wished she had become his bride and borne his children.
Finally and never lastly, she remembered all the moments she shared with her Di. From childhood to today, from the fights to the hugs, from Ganga ghat to her wedding day. She had always found heaven in her sister's arms, and she felt lucky- lucky to die in the arms of her saviour.
Well guys that is the end of this SS. I hope you all have enjoyed it and will not kill me for the ending. It was not my intention for Maanvi to die when I started it but it ended up this way. I want to thank you for taking the time to read my story and for all your comments. They have truly encouraged me to write more for this story, just because of all your appreciation. Hopefully, if I ever get creative again, I will write an OS or possibly another SS. I'll Pm you all, and will comment greatly on each of your final comments- that is only if you wish to comment.
