Please mods can some one explain the definition of bashing to us? Re the post that was locked stating that it was bashing, would like to understand what statement in that post falls under the bashing category. Cant one state their opinion about a scene without being classified as bashing in this forum? who did that post bash?

I really would like to understand what was wrong with that post, if I am not aware of a rule in IF, I would like to learn it. A public forum is a place where we come and discuss on things related to a certain topic, some may agree to it some may not. In this case the topic was discussing a scene and how it made the TM feel. I am surprised to see topics of discussion getting closed without calling out what the problem with the post was. Please help me understand what can we and what cant we discuss here.

i think there is nothing wrong with expressing our views of an episode or character, even if they are negative. if we think a certain character is going downhill, it shouldn't be wrong to say so. attacking any member or celebrity personally, or swearing at characters without reason would be bashing. But the problem, Rach, is that the members often don't understand the difference between bashing and criticism. Bashing is baseless, done just for the sake of insulting characters/show/celebrities. Criticism is when you actually follow the show, and would like to see certain changes, or just don't like the way a certain storyline may be progressing. Members need to understand that just because a member makes some comments on a certain character going downhill, or a certain storyline not proceeding, doesn't mean that member's aim is to bash.
What happens is, members just pop in with "don't bash. keep your views to yourself. if you don't like it, don't watch". honestly, i feel such attitude is ridiculuous. why should we not watch? if we have been watching from beginning, we will watch. if we have been liking something, but don't anymore, I think we have the right to share our views. the purpose of forums is for members to share their views - and views can be positive and negative.
I feel for the mods though, because mostly they have to come in and close threads when the threads get heated because of these silly attitudes. it's all because SOME members are not able to distinguish between bashing and constructive criticism, and they interfere in the thread, which leads to more arguments, which leads to topics being closed.
to the mods: I understand the anti-bashing rules of IF. However, I also feel that the point about criticism being different than bashing needs to be emphasized more on this, and every other, forum. Members take advantage of the "no bash" rule so much that they generalise and apply it to every other comment that doesn't suit well with their views, which is not right. we should be allowed to share our views even if they are negative - how else will the cv's or any other show related folks be aware of our feedback? :S

The problem is that, people here think that using a lot of this emo 🤣 and this emo 😆,makes the post funny and sarcastic, where it's funny to think that. And I'm here from almost 2 yrs, still couldn't understand what is 'Bashing' and what is 'Constructive criticism'.People have the right to criticize Maanvi, mentioning lots of 'No offence' and 'I'm a Maanvi fan too!!' in the post, but they are unable to digest criticism for their favorites. You take anyone's name, and that's considered bashing.

oh, and please do not close this topic without addressing the issue.
as well, it is an honest request to the mods of EHMMBH: please do not close our topics just because some members aren't mature enough to know the difference between bashing and negative feedback... and please do take action against such members. it's unfair to those of us, who spent our time here, when we make threads about certain VALID points, and other members come jumping in with "oh don't bash. don't watch if you don't like" type comments, which then lead us to respond to them, which may lead to arguments.

Lets not be wise. This people are bitches, and we need to answer them. And If any of the mods wants to warn me for using a swear word, than I don't care, because you are bias!
