You lost your biological parents as Nitya while fighting the Goenkas and this time you lost Dayal while fighting them.

Last time Payal was tortured because you tried to get the Goenkas down and again Payal was attacked because you challenged Sakshi.

Dev could easily enter your house but still the security system was not reviewed at your house.

Bagchis were almost killed because they stood by you and again they were almost burnt alive because of you.

You did hurt Shaurya's ego again but you didn't prepare yourself for the consequences.

You are one of those female leads whom I am going to hate for the rest of my life.

Absolutely correct.

If/when the Goenkas finally lose out, it's no thanks to any particular cleverness of Durga. 😆

Rather just a combination of blind luck in the end and 'creative' writing by CVs in this rushed ending.
A once really tight and enjoyable thriller is leaving as a joke (Shaurya magic cure, Karan ghosting, locker key episode and many more to come I'm sure) 👎🏼

No respect left for EHT or the Durga character.

Sakshi/Shaurya's acting will remain with me as at times it has been brilliant. 👏

Serial writers refuse to make a female lead smart, intelligent, cautious abt dangers or adroit in planning tactical moves! Even in a woman oriented revenge thriller like EHT.

After all how can a woman have the brains to tackle villains like Goenkas? The female lead can only cry, lose to the villains and cry again.

They are always portrayed as weak, clinging, suffering, crying, vulnerable but not strong enough to deal with powerful enemies. Not smart enough to plan carefully and build up their defences.

In the first few months, Durga was cleverly plotting and executing her plans but only with Akash and Dayal's help.
With Akash gone and Dayal dead, Durga will just cry helplessly like one of those typical serial heroines.
Noddy will take over the revenge part. After all revenge is a man's job, not a woman's...😳

Since marrying Dev, shes just singing, Im a woman in Love... Her brain has gone for a vacation or a honeymoon whatever...🥱

Pallavi, that is absolutely spot on post. Every word you have said is so right.

The thought of an intelligent woman who has a goal in her life, who has the brains to follow it through is just not allowed, not in our society , not on TV. She MUST have the man to do the job for her.

Why did Durga need a love interest in this story? Why did she even want to marry Shaurya other than to provoke the Goenkas into becoming more ruthless than ever?

There were so many thing she could have done to demolish the Goenkas without going near them. But of course how could Durga do anything without men around her?

Thanks! Its really infuriating how they ended up demeaning and weakening even a strong female lead in this serial.

You are absolutely right! She shd have stayed away from that cursed family and carried out her retribution, bringing down the Goenka allies first and then Goenkas themselves.

She was going well on the path of vengeance till she brought down Ganguly. Why did she have to do the marriage drama with Shaurya? Just to win his trust and make him paralyzed?

Even after marrying Dev, moving into Goenka mansion, she has been unable to do anything concrete to harm the Goenkas or find out their secrets, inspite of roaming around like a bhatakti aatma.

She could have reached her goals with Dayal and Akash as her helpers, she didnt need Dev...she didnt need to marry Dev to avenge her sister.
She shd have stayed in the background and not challenged Sakshi or Shaurya so openly, that was the stupidest thing to do.
Suicide of her own mission!

Haan wo to hai hi. Overall its the failure of the makers to portray what they had promised earlier. The word 'Makers' include everyone involved in the making of the show and not the writer alone.
This thread particular revolves around the failure of Durga's character only. SInce Durga as a person doesn't exist the criticism is indirectly for the creatirs of her character

Thank you al for replying.

@ Pallavi: Yes, its the general tendency of all Indian makers. They simply cannot think of a woman who has a powerful personality.

SOmetimes I feel Indian makers are hypocrites. We have female direcotrs here. We have PHs run by women. We have here actresses managing both professional and personal life. Then the channels also have women occupying respectable positions. Yet when all of them is put together we simply cannot think beyond Saas- Bahu saga.

If you ask me, all female characters in this show are basically backward.
Sakshi could have done a lot herself using her own brain than marry Raj and feed off his wealth and name. She has further been demeaning herself in trying to save her cheap son. She once slapped him over the fake degree issue but then started crying and felt guilty! Why feel guilty for this?
Raima fed off both Jatin and Rajnath and was happy to remain mistress all these years. What powerful characters are these?

Durga was just living off Dayal's charity. No identity of her own. Atleast her plans had some promise earlier but since Dev's entry they went kaput. Marrying into that family was of no use. What has she done except bump into Sakshi every day and exchange cold looks and words with her?

No one takes care of basic safety and security. People get raped or murdered and no one knows.

If you notice, Shaurya is a sadist and his each crime is a long drawn spectacle in itself. He stripped and scared Payal, threw her in swimming pool and he and his friends played around with her besides gangrape. He kept shouting at Dayal, shot slowly one by one at each body part. So much happened and in so much time nobody saw or noticed what happened?

NONSENSE.
