Atominis your time and research are truly appreciated.🤗

You very aptly proved that after all ...It is all in the Name.👏

Characters come alive when your research makes them more interesting. Thanks.

Thank you very much everyone for responses. 😊
Another for NAVEEN MATHUR - Naveen means "new". And that guy did exactly this. Coming up with new schemes to save Goenkas' butt, cover up their blunders.

Thanks.
I used to think about Rajnath's name. After scenes of Sakshi talking about naming Shaurya and Dayal talking about Durga plus a discussion with Shrutiravi here on significance of Dev and Durga's names I thought of looking up names of all characters. Had free time one day and looked up meanings and symbolism in characters in relation to story.

They all live upto their names, especially Rajnath who has every shade of a medieval king (that includes killing elder brother for throne).

Nice research atominis. And what beautiful linkage. Since I started the mythology connect with Dev and Durga names I did some research on mythology I mean on killing of demon Mahishasura by Durga
So here is some more mythology linkage I found. Mahishasur was born to Rambh and his buffalo wife Mahishi. Rambh had a boon he will get a powerful son who will rule over 3 worlds.
A brother is mentioned for Rambh who is killed by Lord Indra as he did not want him to complete penace and obtain boon. Nothing much is written about him.
Just like the mismatch Rambh and buffalo wife, there is some sort of mismatch between Rajnath and Sakshi. Of course just like Mahishasur they have the most idiotic son who thinks he owns the world
Mythology also talks about a lover for Mahishi who didnt like Mahishi getting married to Rambh and tried to abduct her by killing Rambh. But Mahishi saves Rambh. So as some forum members put an affair to Sakshi in the past cannot be ruled out.
Now coming to Mahishasur he had got a boon that no man can kill him and he went on creating rampage in the universe. Hence to contain him the female power by Adi Parasakthi or Goddess Parvathi was summoned where all Gods gave her the ultimate power to destroy Mahishasur. Goddess appear as Durga or Chandika in the most fierce form to kill Mahishasur.
Here also we see Durga getting help from various quarters. I mean power in various forms. Whether it is status money , new identity from Dr Dayal, support from Aakash as a mole etc, Indirect support from Sagarika.. etc..She will get more support in her mission.
Then Goddess fights with Mahishasur's army destroying one after another. And when she comes across Mahishasur , the demon is mesmirized by her beauty and ask her to marry him( Some versions do talk about this). The Goddess promises to marry him if he can defeat her in the battle. In the battle the demon takes various forms that of buffalo , lion, etc etc.. and Goddess defeats each of this forms and finally kills him.
Now Shaurya is mesmirized by Durga's beauty and maybe the engagement is symbolic of the Goddess promise that she will marry him if he can defeat her. Just like demon takes various forms Shaurya too has various masks each of which that needs to be unmasked by Durga before she can send him to gallows. In other ways Shaurya can take various ways to get at her and she needs to defeat each and every one of his ways before she can completely destroy him.
So in the serial we can find some linkage to the mythology of both Shiva- Parvathi as well as Mahishasura Mardanam.

@shrutiravi
Extremely informative. 👏

Linkages are evident.

I have often felt reminded of evil, lusty asurs when I watch Shaurya (and other Goenka from his bloodline). Even more when they prayed to God a day before to make their plan successful. Much like asurs who hoped or asked for boons from gods for their pathetic motives.

Durga will slay this demon.😊
