Channa Mereya - A ShraMan FF Chapter - 1
Hi everyone, I'm Lubna. All the amazing writers on this forum inspired me to write my first SS ever. I'm more into poetry and songs and just trying story telling with this SS Channa Mereya. It was supposed to be OS but it was too lengthy (have to work on that). The story starts from a day before PreeKar's wedding.This is what I wanted to see on the show. I also included my version of EDKV title song in the end. Really hope you guys like it. If you dont, I'll try harder next time. :) Please comment so I know how you feel.Thanks.
Suman was wailing in pain. Today she doesn't have any physical pain that anyone could but she was hurting inside, her heart and soul ache so badly that she just wanted scream and cry out but she doesn't even have the courage to do so. Even her tears are dried now. Holding her parents picture to her chest all she could think is Why??? Why is life so unfair to her, she tries so hard in every possible way to make everyone happy but why when it comes to her, why everything goes all wrong?
She was feeling this way since Nirmala Aunty told her about Aditya being her son and that her Nanu has accepted the proposal for her marriage with Aditya. "Aaj main bahut khush hoon Suman, tu meri bahu banegi Aditya mera beta hai" she said as she beamed in happiness. "Tiwari Ji ne tere aur Aditya ke rishte ke liye haan kardi hai". Suman could not say anything, her body was numb.
Just two days ago she had a glint of hope when she realized that Shravan was jealous with Aditya, and would confess his love to her, but little did she know that the plan of making him more jealous would backfire at her in way that would leave her alone, yet again.
She thought Shravan had given the PCT papers to Aditya to help her indirectly, she was so happy that Shravan had finally managed to reach out to her in a different way. But her happiness was short lived, when Shravan stormed in PCT accusing her of using him for selfish reasons, calling her double faced egoistic person and her self respect a charade. He then broke his friendship with her in a way that could never mend back again. Suman was broken, how could he even say that "khokhli dosti"?, was that he knew of her? This was the guy who knew her better than anyone, who understood her yet he didn't even let her explain. Just stormed out just like he came in, after destroying her packed lunches that were supposed to be delivered.
Suman was feeling miserable . Fresh tears rolled out when she came out of her thoughts remembering how she accepted to marry Aditya for Nanu's sake. "You left me alone Shravan all over again". Why is my destiny always against me? How will I face him tomorrow at the wedding, after her marriage is fixed with Aditya? How will he react now? Suman was questioning herself, and she knew that it's not in her control anymore, she had to go with the tide, actually she doesn't have a choice anymore. It was 3: am in the morning she couldn't sleep, she never felt this alone before. She picked up her phone and started looking at her pictures with Shravan, she smiled for the first time in all today, she loved him with all her heart, but the thought of marrying someone else made her heart clunch. She hold her phone close to her heart till sleep finally caught up with her.
Shravan was feeling restless, sleep evaded him too. Even after drinking so much that he even couldn't stand, he couldn't close his eyes, if he did Sumo's face appeared and he remembered how she deceived him. "Why can't she leave me alone", he said breaking another glass. "I hate you Sumo, you always played with my emotions, you didn't change, still the same teenager who ruined my 10 years and now my life", saying this he finally collapsed on the bed.
"Suman saare mehmanon ko naashta dekar jaldi se Preeti ko ready karde", "hum aur Rachna mandap ki tayyari kar lenge" said Mami "aur haan Preeti ke saath tu bhi naashta karle". Aap fiker mat kariye Mamiji sab ho jayega, aur maine chai pee lee hai said Suman while preparing breakfast for everyone. She quickly gave Nanu his breakfast and medicines, put his clothes on the bed and told him Mamaji will help him get ready before rushing to get Preeti ready.
At Malhotra house Shravan woke up with heavy head, he asked Kamal ji for lemon juice for his hangover. Ramnath came to his room, "Good morning Papa, aap yahan" asked Shravan feeling embarrassed for how he's been drinking lately". "Bas tumhe dekhne aaya tha, tum theek ho na, aaj shaadi hai aur..." I'm fine Papa, he cut him off, aap ready ho jayiye main bhi ja hi raha tayyar hone. Pushkar ko bhi help karna hai, he said as he rushed to the bathroom. He knew his Papa was worried for him and doesn't want to see him like this.
Shravan was getting ready as he heard a knock, right came in Aditya without even waiting for reply. "Hey bro, I need some hair gel, can I borrow some, I want to look extra special today" he said smiling to himself making Shravan more furious than he already was. "Go ahead" said Shravan and turned around. Aditya saw another gel on the top shelf, he tried to get it but he knocked down a small box that was behind it. "Oh wow this is beautiful", Shravan turned around and saw the chain with emerald raindrop pendant that he got for Sumo 10 years ago with all the pocket money he saved, he thought he would give it to her after she reads his letter, but that never happened. "Give that right back Aditya" he snatched it from him and put it his pocket. Who is it for? asked Aditya. "It's none of your business, get ready and leave, don't touch anything that's mine, except the hair gel" he stormed out. Looks like that was for his girlfriend thought Aditya and quickly got ready and sent a selfie to Suman.
"Di, you look beautiful" beamed Preeti, "but not as beautiful as my pretty Preeti" replied Suman. "You are the bride today so be happy and don't worry about anything else" said Suman when she received Aditya's message, she got frustrated and deleted it right away. Soon the baraat was here, Shravan's eyes grew wider as he saw Suman first time after the PCT incident, she was looking beautiful in that red lehenga. Right then Aditya stormed in "Suman you are looking gorgeous". "Shravan I told you that day she would look breathtaking in this" said Aditya pointing towards Suman. He ignored and left.
Soon the wedding rituals started, they both came to take flower petals at the same time and their hands touched, both looked at each other with eyes full of pain. Shravan came of his trance and turns around but they kept staring each other while Preeti and Pushkar taking pheras as if they are silently taking their own vows with each other.
Shravan was fuming, his eyes almost full of blood visibly showing his pain as Aditya announced his wedding with Suman. She was taken back from his reaction, she thought he would be heartbroken but seeing it happen right in front of her eyes broke her heart into million pieces. He left when everyone was congratulating them.
Shravan was devastated, today I lost everything, he screamed as he was driving rashly on the road and after fighting with some roadside goons. He then stopped the car, looked himself in the mirror and smiled. "Enough is enough", I am not going to cry for her, she deceived me like my mom did. Why am I upset, she is a woman after all. I am not going to be vulnerable anymore, even if I am, I won't let anyone see it. I will leave tomorrow forever. "I hate this place because you live here Sumo. I just hate you".
Suman accompanied Preeti to Malhotra house after bidaai, Shravan was already home with preparations for the party. When everyone came in he, finally announced that something important has come up and he has to to London tomorrow morning. Everyone were surprised but Suman knew the reason.
"Wow!!! The room looks beautiful, thanks Bhaiya but this is not done bhaiya, you cant leave",exclaimed Pushkar. We can talk about this later Pushkar, you got married to the person you love, said Shravan looking at Suman, not everyone are lucky like you and tonight is special for you. Dont waste it thinking about me and besides you can come to London on the way back from your Honeymoon to Switzerland. That's my gift to you. You will get your tickets tomorrow. Thanks Bhaiya said Pushkar hugging him before Shravan left his room, Suman followed him out.
"Will you not attend your best friend's wedding" asked Aditya.
"My presence is not needed in her wedding" replied Shravan.
Anyways it's time to celebrate, I'm very happy today for my best friend's wedding he said in a sarcastic tone, and as I'm leaving tomorrow, said Shravan.
Ramnath was happy that Suman will be out from their lives and he thought Shravan will be fine in few days. "You made a very right decision of marrying Aditya, you will be well settled as he is a rich man too, and because you spend everything on Preeti's wedding, if you want I can help you financially for your"... he smirked. Shravan was watching them from the bar counter, he wondered what are they talking about. He was confused to see that expression on his dad's face.
"If you want to do anything for me, then take care of Shravan. He is broken, please don't leave him alone", said Suman folding her hands in front of him, and then moved away.
"Mummy ji your plan of marrying Suman to Shravan has flopped, what will you do now? said Vandy. I still have this one night smiled Kamini. Just follow my cue.
There is no music Shravan, how do we dance asked one of his friend. Don't worry said Shravan I'll turn on my current favorite, it's not a dance number but would be perfect for now.

Shravan and Suman were looking intently as the song is playing, they both know what it means at this moment. Shravan pretends he's happy and starts dancing with a girl and invites Aditya to dance too. Shravan tells Suman it's her night she should dance with her future husband, as she rejects when Aditya asks for a dance. She listens...

Just then Aditya pulls her closer and holds her waist tight, Shravan gets more hurt and furious. He goes for another drink, and breaks the glass he was holding seeing Aditya trying to kiss Suman. She turns her face away and looks at Shravan and his bleeding hand. She stops dancing and try to talk to Shravan, but he leaves to the kitchen.

Suman follows him but he just grabs a bottle of water and goes towards the basement. She knew why. Kamini was watching everything and smiles as she thought of a new plan. She informs everyone that party is over. The guests start leaving, Suman wanted to inform Kamini that Shravan is hurt, but she walks away to Aditya. Just then the power is off. Kamini asks Aditya to help check the fuse, he agrees.
"Suman please take this candle to Shravan, I have to give these flashlights to everyone else and then take it to Varun too", smiles Vandy and leaves even before Suman tries to say no.
"He's hurt and no one would care, and it's my last chance to do anything for him" thinks Suman and goes to the kitchen picks up the first aid box and goes towards the basement...
