I know many people felt that Shravan was trying to trap Sumo in the first SS scene today, but I felt that he was making one last genuine attempt to make her see his point. Yes, he had made backup arrangements, but don't think he'd have dragged her to court, had she at least tried to find a mutually acceptable compromise.

But I hated the tamasha he made in court...

Isn't it weird that the CVs have created not one, but two, independent working women in this show, but in such a biased manner that we cannot even relate to them completely!

@anu - true that! and that is mainly because CVs (in the Indian telly world) do not know how to create balanced human beings. they are extremes - and hence are sumo and nirmala. they are irrationally independent. the problem is also that they bend at their will.

this same sumo had no problem with chomu buying her a lehenga she could not afford - she did not even confront him once on that. why so?

She also bends backwards for her own family - is that mainly because of her ehsaan? what if we take out ehsaan from the equation - will she argue with her own family too?

You mean Shravan was looking for a way to marry her coz he couldn't just go ahead and say that he wants it.. He got the chance.. And now this... He was always ready to be the pati if only Sumo was ready to be his wife...

Am I thinking right or am I way off?

I dont know who was the dialogue writer but he should be given an award for manifesting the structuralist and post-structuralist angle of language..

You know I really liked shravan's attitude today - to be fair - despite their severely sour relation - he did take one last chance to reason with her - but sumo, as always, failed to weigh the situation - if not anything, she should be very careful when it comes to the ramnath-shravan equation. i fail to understand why she does not understand that - but may be she will - tact is the word that is mising in her dictionary and the lack of tact is not a virtue.

Yes..

Anu, I also had the same question.. He made the arrangements bcz he knew what her answer would be... He was testing her maybe... Since he knew the response.. But maybe it was a last attempt at a mutual agreement... One last try... Akhir dil hai ki manta nahin!!!
