How can you be such a talented writer, my Gosh! You articulate your feelings so well. And, honestly, mine too :)Thank U😊I have time and again said that ShraMan are very similar and yet very different and that despite hating Shravan's actions, it is easy to relate to him because they have shown us his side more convincingly. With Suman, some of the things she did were not established as well... Like we know she has abandonment issues also and it was established during the Khosla episode, when they visit her mother's house... but still, she said some mean, nasty things at age 16/17... not 4/5... and she failed her friend when he most needed her.@underlined, actually this was the most interesting part of the backstory for me..that Sumo was a believable 16 year old. Ok, as a bully, what she did was not ok but then again how much sagacity can we expect from a 16 year old? So, that was a believable aspect of the story and I am so glad that they kept Sumo...real...like saying OK I am sorry I did not mean it but how else do I make it up to u? If one sees it...its a combination of things that had Shravan dealing with the issue in such a grave manner. He loved Sumo with all the devotion a 16 year old could muster.and then his mother left without any explanation and his best friend chose to show her bad side at that juncture...a double whammy..To be honest, when I first saw that these two have a history that is angsty, i really thought to myself...how bad can 16 year old problems be...but the Cvs have done a brilliant job of tying it up so beautifully; two insecure kids but having different set of circumstances and different ways of dealing with their issues.Later, due to her own "self respect, lack of emotional acceptance, and a bit of a girlish immaturity", she still doesn't recognize the impact of her actions, and does trivialize a lot Shravan goes through. Sometimes, she does it knowingly (monologues) saying jab tumhein sach pata chalega, ya jis din tumhein pyaar ka ehsaas ho jaega... but still she does things that hurt Shravan.I do not side with Shravan anymore, nor do I recognize the person I see in him, but still, I cant fault him for so many things, because I felt his pain. Sumo, I keep repeating, has so much more knowledge, yet she is not able to piece together why or what is hurting Shravan, and their MUs do keep getting increased. Sumo oscillates from being a giddish teenagerin love who is willing to do anything to make a relationship work to a girl who says nothing but her self respect, her family is prime... She, just like Shravan, doesn't think. To Shravan's credit, there was a time where he kept chasing Sumo about what was wrong... but she kept "avoiding him". There was also a reverse situation where Suman kept asking him what changed, and the end of it was that Shravan had realized he was loving Sumo again but he was trying to run away from it. Unfortunately, Sumo's "distancing from Shravan", didn't end in a positive realization or outcome for Shravan, but the PCT fiasco and AdiMan marriage.I can go on and on, but you've said everything already - I have become a fan of your writing one more time. Ishq vala love!!!Mona, hmmm u have a point there...agree with a lot of what u say but again let me just say that CVs here have attempted something tricky in fashioning a character like Sumo...and that too as a central character of their story. I would say they succeeded in making her real and believable although some of her motivations seem difficult to follow. Sumo being an orphan, the fact that she is a bit touchy about her situation is believable, she trying to assert in situations where money is involved is again believable. Her inability to see Shravan's point in the situation is understandable if not acceptable. I see Sumo's world as divided into Shravan and others. Her behaviour towards Shravan is vastly different from others as he is the only person she feels she has a right on. So while she expects little from others, she has huge expectations from Shravan. Shravan despite all the hits and misses somehow always ensures that she will not fall. That gives Sumo strength. That litmus test will now be under strain.Where I found the Cvs have not etched her well is when they have shown her clueless about Shravan's feelings when confronted with the knowledge that Adi is Nirmala's son. Sumo's reactions were very bland...deliberately or oversight I don't know. Those times I don't get Sumo.Again the thing I liked is her frankness in dealing with Ram issue. Unlike characters that behave that they are performing the ultimate sacrifice by going to the gallows for a crime they have not committed, I liked that they showed Sumo sensible about it.So for me...both characters work...Shravan's dark route in the bedwarmer phase and thereafter I don't relish becos I am not sure how well they will handle his rise...anyways...lets see how they manage the tracks ahead.
