When I first read the post I was fully anticipating the shrew is Shravan :) I'll post in length later but I guess this is the beauty of this show. You are a sumo girl and you got Shravan yesterday and I am a Shravan girl and my heart went out to Sumo... In the end these both are escapists... One is the pessimist and he always sees the glass half empty and the other always quickly has her rose tainted glasses on. Both never ever question their own actions and its potential impact on others. And both think only the other have egos. They say that marriage is a relationship where two incomplete people complete each other, but my heart goes out to sumo who has embarked on a very dangerous journey. Will love be her guiding light? Will she succeed? Of course she will! But it will take a lot of her... In the end like I said she neither has to giver herself up nornher dreams but how will she make way in Shravan's heart again along with her self respect that is key.

The only vantage she has over Shravan was clear in yesterday's episode. She is always optimistic. And like I always say, she has knowledge Shravan doesn't.

Shravan is being lied to left right and center by everyone, including Suman. So he is super Clouded at the moment but there's a reason PreeKar are in the same house. Preeti wasn't standing there when Kaamini was instigating Shravan for no reason. I hope.

Shravan. Shravan. Shravan. Where do I even start? Do I call you a misogynist? Or a pessimist? Or... I all short of words. I hate you one moment and then the other I wish someone could slap sense into you. And then I see that like someone who builds walls around themselves to keep hurt at bay you are retracting further and further into the depths of despair... Wonder what to make out of you?

Sumo, may be you just need to remember, okhli mein sar daal rahi ho, pisega to Sahi...

Ps: this turned out to be quite a long short response!!!

Who will have the last laugh in this show I ask softly purring like a cheshire cat.

Is it Kamini or Nanaji or Ramnaath.

Shravan has married the right girl for all the wrong reasons.
Suman has married the wrong guy for the right reasons.

Comedy is based on the absurdity of human behavior.
Tragedy is based on the inevitability of loss.

So how would you classify this drama? I signed up for a romantic comedy I think. But this is becoming a comical tragedy!

I for one am at a loss to understand the motivations for this marriage.
He marries her because he cannot bear to see her with anybody else. He is going to bring her 'inline' with his dad's expectation of a daughter-in-law to justify his flimsy reasons for marrying her. While the real reason for it are his insecurities. Which aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

She marries him because she believes deep down he loves her. Is that a reason to marry anyone? Just because they *might* love you? I wouldn't know. I had an arranged marriage.

For Suman this marriage will be a comedy of errors. She will just shake it off and get on with her life.
She did that when her parents died, Shravan left etc.
He asks her to leave PCT? No problem she will agree. Within a couple of days Preeta(or whoever manages PCT) will call with an emergency and she will beg him to attend to this one problem. And to help her he will let go.
He asks her to align with misogynistic tendencies? He will not let her pay for her food and or expenses. No issues. She will be the cook/maid at their house justifying her cost of living.
Bottomline he or Ramnath will NEVER have the kind of hold of her that they hope to have. She is a survivor who swims along with the tide.

So the real tragedy here will be for Shravan. He is so deeply soaked in misery and self-pity that I am not sure a self-centered person like Suman can help with. Nothing wrong with being self-centered. Just saying. I think he is a good person beneath all those acidic layers. But who cares nowadays about what lies beneath? Suman sure as hell won't!

(On a side note: I don't want to bash another show here. So I will not name it. But this story has strong parallels with a season 2 of a certain very popular serial. I watched this season 2 serial for exactly 3 episodes. I was shocked into giving up due to the misogyny. The story is so similar that I am sure these two serials have a common writer.
The story for that serial goes as follows: The FL is forced to marry a guy who is a sick psycho. Surprisingly he happens to have model parents. A very understanding friendly cool dad and an ice queen proper mom(who happens to be Nirmala here!). But once the heroine marries and comes to their home she comes to know everybody's true colors. The ice queen proper MIL behaves that way because the cool dad is actually a horrible misogynist sociopath underneath. He controls the entire family with a stranglehold. Even his own daughter(ML's sister) is not spared from the misogyny. I just couldn't bear to watch the horror show. )

So my dear chicken soup for the soul, you might be thinking how this cheshire cat can unres at such a record speed. I was going to make a post about this. Then I thought why bother when there is such a beautiful post made on the same topic. Might as well post here. 😆

Lovely analysis.

G D,

😳

Thank you.
Who will have the last laugh! I think it will be Nanu. He is the only one who knows for sure that Shraman are made for each other. He reserved that marriage advice for the alliance he was most happy with. 😉

Suman is not marrying the wrong guy. She is marrying the guy who cannot see beyond her. He doesn't have a life without her.

He is marrying her because he knows no woman can make him happy. It is a deal to be done with. So long as she doesn't step on his rights, he would leave her alone. I agree with Shravan actually. I even asked this Question yesterday. What right does Suman have to decide how the wedding should go? What about HIS Aspirations?

The parallel with the other show- Geetanjali is the only common factor I see. The fact that the MIL is diametrically opposite should perhaps vouch for the fact that the writers are different.

Who knows! Maybe the writers will have the last laugh.

Hoping for the best, Chicken soup for the soul. 😉🤗

There are too many questions revolving in my mind right now... How will he ever correct all his mistakes as they seem to only increase!! How will he ever able to face anyone after his true face is revealed!! and my most important query to the CV's on whose redemption will you show the most...

Shravan's redemption won't take long as all it needs is him knowing that he's loved by Suman but Rammy is almost (leaving a tiny space) impossible for redemption...

@chicksoup,
loved your writeup... nothing much to say

@glassdoor,
I just loved your 1st few lines, its really ironical how Shraman are marrying and I'm upset as I too signed in for a romantic comedy. Its definitely Rammy who's the last one to smile or I doubt will he ever...

I am not defending Ramnath. He is the most blind character in the show. That makes him redeemable. He genuinely thinks Suman is the wrong girl for Shrav. Maybe she will prove him wrong and pave the way to his redemption. 😉

Ramnath-Shravan scene beautifully brought forward the timelessness and the irresistible dominance of the feeling of pain for me..It reminded me of a poem by Emily Dickinson that beautifully describes the entrapment pain causes a person -

Pain has an element of blank;
It cannot recollect
When it began, or if there was
A time when it was not.

It has no future but itself,
Its infinite realms contain
Its past, enlightened to perceive
New periods of pain

That scenes personified pain similar to this poem. Shravan had become the pain for me - the pain had depersonalized him to such an extent that he had no other feeling. He remembers the past as having consisted only of pain and surmises of continuing and relentless pain in the future.

Thank you.

Such an amazing poem for Shrav pain. Shravan has become the embodiment of the pain expressed here.

They wrote him well.

I agree my heart went out to SHra yesterday
Although I think Ramnth is going to redeemn. HE loves his son and he thinks Sumo is not right for him.I see him redeeming when that thought changes

I was actually a bit annoyed at sumo for the small marriage thing where she spoke up among adults I thought Shra was far more respectful there.

I any case I will wait and watch how this pans oout. I think Sumo will not need to give up anything as Shra says something , intends something completely different and does something else

Sumo is happy with the marriage. Lots of issues but something is hopeful. Is it his love for her or hers for him.

Whatever it is I choose to go with her belief that it will all work out😳

@chicksoup 🤗
Yep agree Suman has, is and will always be self-centered. Hence she needs a more 'centered' partner. 😆 So I think Shravan is wrong for her.

For Shravan I think she is the right person because she can actually bear and put up with his sissy fits. Dear god, this man has more mood swings than a pregnant woman!

According to me marrying somebody and expecting him/her to be radically different after marriage is wrong. People don't change that easily.

Ramnath case was different. Nirmala was not working when he married her. So he had this preset mould in his mind that Nirmala was slotted to. He was not comfortable when she tried to break out of that mould.

In Shravan's case, he knows that Suman is a working independent woman. Why marry her only to change her? There are other fish in the sea. For him and for her. Marrying her just so he can snub her is downright cruel. This will be a tragedy of his own doing. Good people should not try to be cruel, they will only lose themselves.
