She puts her Nanu's expectations above her own but that does not mean she has to marry a person she despises, and that she has to be downright disrespectful of that person. Suman may be a bit of an abla, but she has zero understanding of the consequences of some of her actions and its high time they show her growth also. Her bads may be fewer than Shravan but they are still there :)

Shravan makes mistakes in anger and does introspect, though after making mistakes(like he did yesterday). I think she takes others for granted, sometimes. Like in Adi's case, if you cant stand the guy you should have never get ready for marriage. She did say yes for Nanu, but never tried to establish an understanding with Aditaya(sometimes bordering rudeness). Did she ever care about Aditaya's feelings? She might as well ruining his life by getting into a loveless marriage.

I don't know what Sumo has to introspect.Honestly!😃
Her actions seems like deliberate choices to me.It was her choice to sacrifice her love for her cousin, it was her choice to marry Adhi for Nanu. She knew fully well how much she hurts Shrav in all these.Unlike Shrav, Suman knows he loves her.
I think, she has to get her priorities right.

To be fair to Adhi, I'll assume his grouse wasonly that Sumo hid her past, inspite of his persistence. A colorful past, painted by her bestie.
Shrav just wanted to decimate those three people who turned him into a drunkard. He had no noble intention.😆
I trust this Cvs a little more than I did those ones.😆 I'm sure he'll pay for his crime & come out with more understanding of a woman's honour.
Let's book Shrav for slander and Adhi for sexual assault.

P.s- Atharv Suja rocked in the face-off with his father who gives inappropriate expressions.😆 Have skipped quite a few epis.

In front of Atharv, all the male protagonists I've watched hitherto pale in comparison😆

This show has turned me into a capricious person...from a Sumo shipper in the initial days, I began to fall in love with Shravan and now I'm at a pretty indifferent, zen-like state.😆

You see, Shravan fed into Aditya's ego, hit him in his Achiles heel, the prism through which Aditya sees women and not necessarily where Shravan's principles and ideologies lie in. See, I am pretty sure Shravan wouldn't bat an eyelid if Sumo weren't a virgin girl but that's not the case with the MCP Aditya and he attacked him right where it hurt him the most. He for once didn't think what Adi could be capable of doing so to Suman and that's Shravan's hamartia - his impulsive behavior would cost him a great deal in life if he doesn't start making amends pronto.

Have I missed too many epis of EKDV too? I thought Shrav is the MCP here, who told Sumo to be like Vandhy and Adhi is more emancipated.

I think it would matter to Shrav, if Sumo was intimate with someone, mainly bcoz he was saving himself for her.😆 And expected the same.

This show has made me a sadist. I'm now waiting for Nanu to meet Naya Shravan.😆

The major grouse I have with Shravan's behavior was the way in which he spoke to Aditya as if Sumo is some kind of commodity he can relish as and when the need requires. He very well knows Aditya for a s**t-shamer and he wanted to frustrate him to the hilt by saying Sumo and he have done the deed many times and that he's not getting a virginal bride as he desires. Aditya's living in the stone age, BUT was Shravan really trying to liberate Sumo from the clutches of a narrow-minded MCP? I think not, he was merely trying to one-up a pest like Adi and his good-for-nothing mother and in the process took his friendship with Sumo for a ride and THAT and only that was wrong on so many levels. IF we as audience also feel Sumo's character has been tarnished just because of the not-so-subtle insinuation by Shravan, then there's no difference between Adi and us.

You've likened Shravan's behavior to humbistar( 3 years hence, that shit's still haunting...what has cruel Khan done to us?!🤣) but I think it's much worse since it's coming from Shravan Malhotra, whose core has been disintegrated to a zillion shards by the ruthless CVs! BUT I am still banking on him to realize his impropriety( which was to speak at length on his imaginary dalliances with his bestie to her fiance out of SPITE ) and call out on Aditya's deplorable behavior stemming out of his pre-historic notions of piousness in women.. As an aside, how do people think SHRAVAN planted the seed of doubt in Aditya's mind and started the domino effect beats the bejesus out of me.

Ps: To hell with these losers, please tell me now you like my Atharv Sujata

@veritaserum, A fab post...👏

@bold and underlined...Ah finally I find a post...that said what really needed to be said...I have been trying to say this for a while and failing miserably. You nailed in those few words 👏I have been trying to say where exactly has Shravan gone wrong...and where we as a forum are reading it all wrong becos we have poor notions of our own personhood being defined by chastity talk by all and sundry in the great Indian Izzat bazaar...

In my view, Shravan need not express remorse for "tarnishing" Sumo's reputation. In doing that...he will only demean everyone and himself and giving credence to people who think and act like Aditya. No man or woman has that power. Yes, however, he needs to express remorse becos in that moment when he indulged in that trash talk, there was nothing to choose between Adi and him, they became equated on thought...One becos he thinks that a woman cannot have a relationship before him and other becos he thinks he has the power to destroy the relationship. That pretty much sums it up for me, which is why I agree the hero has been emasculated and no sweet love from the lady ain't going to bring this guy back to where he was.

Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive. This for the Cvs...

@Veritaserum:

What Aditya did will always be wrong..But he cannot be pulled up for his prehistoric notions..because Suman seems to believe in that too..She happened to think she was made only for one person..as did Shravan..that doesn't make any of them moral police. To each his own! That is what they'd like to practice..so lets not pull any of them up for this.

What if Aditya had implied Suman had slept with him..how would Shravan take it if this had been told the night before his wedding? And would he not slap the guy when he knew he had lied?

It is not as if Aditya barged in to assault Suman the very next second..he asked nicely..called her up..and when it looked like she was putting up an act for his benefit..that is when he exploded..Let us be clear about the way the scenes have been written...

And before you think I am an Aditya fan, let me clarify...I happen to think Atharv is the best written ML in the history f Indian telly too...😉

Rekh,

True. He equated himself with Aditya...There is no difference in their thinking here.

How does he redeem himself?

What is the punishment for this crime? That is entirely for Suman to decide...Because she is the only one who knows what Shravan is and why he is like that...Let us leave the judgement to her.

Oh man a lawyer is ALL that? Then Shravan is not a good one. His argument would have failed miserably in court.

The first rule of a lawyer or any good sport: Don't forget which side you are on.

I don't think Shravan is cheap because he 'assassinated' Suman's character.
Hasn't be heard of the phrase 'Gentlemen don't kiss and tell'?
What gave him the right to divulge a woman's private life even if whatever he said was true?
What right does he have to hang his friend up on a crucifix for others to judge?

I agree there is no issue if one makes out before marriage, and it shouldn't really matter.

But the way Adi and Shravan have been both written, I can bet 500 dollars both would have an issue with Sumo's past. Adi's possessive, insensitive, impulsive and impatient side is no better than Shravan's angry side.

But the key issue is, if I put myself in Sumo's shoes and found out that my friend said this to my would be husband a night before my wedding, irrespective of whether I had slept with this person or not, I would feel betrayed and violated. Shravan didn't even need to say anything to seek his revenge. A simple, we had something but I am not answerable to you, or even a sarcastic why don't you go and ask your fiance this not your sautla bhai as I owe you nothing would have been enough to still bother Adi for life. Revenge was fine, the tool inappropriate and crass. But I blame it on poor writing by writers honestly. They couldn't execute his well, and have taken Shravan's misogyny too far.
With regards to covering up for Shravan I agree but to give credit where it's due Shravan has also kept her Izzat in front of her family till now, till now I say and he has been there for her several several times.

Suman was very rude to Adi since marriage predations began and although I dislike Adi as a character from the start her rudeness was uncalled for. Everything happened too fast but she had so many options to make this right. A simple polite and assertive, Adi you know what I have gone throug with my Nanu and though I am fully marrying you by choice I need time would have been so much better than her ridiculing him all the time and the yelling. Self respecting people also must learn to respect others, otherwise self respect is nothing but mere ego. Fine line.

On a side note, Everyone is just simply expecting Shravan to let go of Suman ( no one knows the truth in TK) which is very selfish or Tiwaris to be honest. That's not how you treat best friends. Nanu could have been instrumental in sorting NirRam but he chose to be a spectator and is expecting Ram to always 'do things for him' without any regard for his feelings which is sad. 🤗 🤗

Shravan has spent too much time abroad to remember how ugly a hypothetical situation like this can turn into...With the Khosla pics, he had found it weirdly funny how people were giving undue importance to it...Suman had been in some other land then and it didn't make any difference to her then...

But now...Things are going to take an unintended turn...Shravan's redemption for us viewers lies in the fact that this was UNINTENTIONAL...This had been purely a verbal fight with Aditya...something that was supposed to simmer within Aditya and rot him...He simply was unaware of the other side...Had he been, he would NEVER HAVE SAID IT. Nor did he anticipate this would bring out this violent a reaction from Aditya...Suman was not supposed to be caught in between...That had ONLY COME AS AN AFTERTHOUGHT...He had only Aditya and Aditya in his mind...and of course, Nirmala.

I know it is hard for us to digest, but I wouldn't call it poor writing. Because we have Shravan's realisation waiting to hit him and us after this...😆

To quote a very weak example from Real life- One of my friends was back in India for a short visit after a long time abroad...It so happened she spent one night in her client's house, because for her it was as good as staying in a hotel room...the uproar it created in the family because she stayed in the same house in another bedroom...Both of them can say nothing happened..but the dirty minds will never stop questioning...and anyone living in India, however broadminded, can only wish she had been more aware...This is Shravan's condition as of now...He created a lie to get back at someone...he had to leave an impact, so he put all the masala...It was supposed to be ONLY FOR ADITYA'S EARS...He is not expected to go around spreading the story! I mean..WHO DOES THAT! 😕😉

Suman being rude to Adi...She was giving him a hint...This is Suman Tiwari...You want her like this? Take me...She was not in a position to be nice to him...or anyone...
