I am thinking the CVs did a brilliant job with the serial. When Ramnath was portrayed as misogynistic did we all care? We thought well ya he is like that. Cannot help him and he needs to deal with his son liking Suman for who she is.

But what they have done now is turning the game on its head. They have created a very lovable man Shravan, who is till now shown very supportive of the lead. He is shown as the 'ideal' person for any girl with any sort of hormones to fall in love with.

So when he makes misogynistic statements there will be an explosion. There will be fireworks. There will be millions of girls across India who suddenly wake up to the fact that this man is insulting them. And men have always been insulting and they have never taken notice. Now they decide it is time to fight back. Cannot help but admire the ingenuity of it.

It is not surprising that Shravan is capable of reacting this way. He is possessive, jealous, intense and ferociously passionate. When such a person is scorned he would react very strongly and destroy everything in his path. They laid the seeds of this in the party episode.

I think this is a purposeful move by the CVs to make us empathize with Suman as a woman more. Yes she has flaws dammit. But she better fight this one. Not for herself but for US!

Warm regards!
A girl who always hopes even though she may not make sense

Thanks, glassdoor- quite a cute name too.😳😉

Exactly...What do we do with a ML with this attitude!😲 Let us get him married to the FL soon. 😆

Joking...But I wonder if Suman has any more ENERGY LEFT IN HER TO ARGUE WITH THE LAWYER!🥱

I will not say Sumo is the root cause here...It is Shravan's idea of women in general...He has only 4 categories of women...Which one do we all fall into?😲😆

I would excuse Suman's behaviour in being teh decision maker in Preeti's case...BECAUSE THAT IS THE ROLE THAT HAS BEEN ASSIGNED TO HER BY HER FAMILY. And she has faith in Pushkar...and fact is, Pushkar is a very good match for Preeti..way above what she can expect...and he is a gem of a guy...

And Preeti's mom herself was all elated when Ramu came with teh offer...not for once did the lady wonder what it was about..so much so for her RESPONSIBILITY as a mother!

And it was Nanu's decision to take the proposal forward...not entirely Suman's...

That way, even Shravan should stop the wedding, because he knows the whole family has bulldozed Chachi into accepting this.

I'll go back to what I said first- It is about his ATTITUDE towards women in general.

Once that changes, everything will follow.

His attitude... did change and changed back again. Because sumo triggered his jealousy, and he went back in time to the Shravan who got dumped.

I am not discounting his current behavior. He was terribly wrong there... But so was she at varying degrees and the problem snowballed into what it is today. So.. her mistakes cannot be written off either.

His current problem is the teen image conscious Sumo and his belief that Suman was not in love with Shravan the nerd. That's why the letter and memory box is critical. He needs to realize that she valued him then.

Initially mami was skeptical about the propsal thinking about money and Kaminey. It was only after Sumo's dealk things changed.

Why did sumo not disclose the entire truth to Nanu. It's not a simple matter chick should such things not be discussed with the elders of the family..

Again the role of decision maker was assigned to her after the marriage was fixed. Not before. She decided to take up that role as repayment of debts of her broughtup. And in all this she did give up on Shravan. Thats why b the cvs came bk with those 2 additional clauses 😃

Cvs have taken a lot of creative liberty I this v track and have been tweeking it constantly.

have been a team shravan girl but yesterday Shravan was absolutely abominable in his behaviour and his words. whatever he has said has been poisoned darts and dont know how Suman is ever going to able to forgive him. his trust issues have compounded to a level which have become an avalanche threatening disaster in its wake, which he has been ensuring hes doing.

All that bitterness in Shravan surfaced up like lava and exploded yesterday. How is he ever going to face himself when finds out the truth about Sumo and Nirmala?

All what their journey so far has been, and though she has erred many a times, especially the Aditya-PCT issue, Suman has not been a tease any kind whatsoever, but yesterday, he says to Aditya, that the girl whom he loved, made him run after her etc. whereas it has been the otherway round. He put Suman on a pedestal, expecting her to read his innermost thoughts and behave like he felt she should and when she didnt confirm, categorised her as an amalgamation of all the women he hates.

And yes, somewhere I hope that Suman, once shes out of her numbness after listening to his venom, over the last 2 episodes, finds the strength to give it back to him, want to see s sumo like the one where she gave those glorious come-backs to Ramnath. This needs to be a battle between equals and not only Shravan insisting on blotting his copybook completely.

The road to redemption is going to be a long one, fraught with obstacles. The track needs needs to be handled with tact and balance with equal emphasis on both.

They better not go a cliched way and have him a change of heart and beliefs overnight. Plus there also has to be a transition of their equation into one of adults with a discovery of the others good, flaws and all and a mutual trust developing. Otherwise any kind of harmonised permanence to their relationship will be a mirage.

👏 Perfectly said!

There is one mistake they both are doing which Adithya pointed out yesterday, they have to look from the other person's perspective. That and only that can help them. They both ask, why Sumo and why Shravan but they both don't introspect. One is feeling pain and the other is numb and they both haven't realized what they are doing when they are hurt. Whom are they hurting ? Hurting Shravan by being rude to him actually hurt Sumo the most and hurting Sumo by what he is doing he is hurting himself more every minute.

About the bashing, I stay away from those threads mostly. Right now most of them are sympathetic towards Shravan and hence his opinion is theirs. But when his opinion starts changing so will theirs.

That said, how we express pain should not be the judge of in his much pain we are. I'll tell you a personal story, my grandma passed away 10 years back. A week before that when she was in the hospital I had a sprained leg and couldn't go visit her, I wasn't even able to walk properly and she was actually recovering. I was working and was in another city. The next week she wasn't there I was too late when I reached. Not a single day has gone by without me regretting what I did. But I don't cry, does it mean that I am heartless ?
Pain cannot and should not be measured by our expressions ever. Shravan loves Sumo for what she is, not what she will be and so does Sumo, that is the beauty of their love. If Shravan's actions are justified, Sumo's inaction is justified too.

"Sometimes we love with nothing but hope.
Sometimes we cry with everything except tears."

The first one is for Shravan and the second is for Sumo. All said 😊

Beautiful lines. 😳

I can connect to your story...something similar happened to me. Ever since, I try to reach out more to my loved ones.
Also..Suman has actually looked more from his perspective...Till recently she was even heard telling Preeti that Shravan must behave like this because his family is as important as hers is to her...I thought that was highly understanding of Suman.

And at the end of all that mud slinging...she still hoped for only one thing- that he'll have his integrity intact. What a girl! She has not kept it against him..but neither is she going to forget he said all this, I guess...

I think Sumo has been majorly at the receiving end of a heavy dose of male chauvinistic judgmental attitude from our punjabi mard shravan. He despite his years abroad and his basic good nature, believes taht the way to go is for women to be like preeti. sumo is too independant, too mature, too career-oriented and too intelligent for him, is it?
i ache at his heartache as i do for sumo's...but tell me, if any girl is told the things shravan said to her, can she imagine that there is any hope from his side...even if there is, why should she go with him if she knows this is going to be his attitude towards her?

of course, i feel there is a huge lack of understanding between them. they just dont understand each other's reactions, actions or motivations. vaise we are all sitting here, free consultants...

they only have to ask...we are all more than ready to give them advice, pointers and tips...😛

Actually what happened is that viewers got hooked on to Shravan, because we were given his POV in teh love story...Sumo was shown as someone balancing her family with her work...as well as hoping for reconciliation with her best friend...

In a love story, we were not supposed to pick any side...whoever did that will find it difficult to understand both as partners...be it Shravan side or Sumo side...

Fact is they are made for each other...because quite simply, they are the solution to each others' problems...

I think the Cvs kept Suman subtle purposely, so that Shravan doesn't come across as negative...Very good move! 👏

His goal is clear- he wants Suman...ON HIS TERMS...

The day he lets go of that selfish demand, he will have her.
