Chick, beautiful post as usual. Thank you for making this one.

I am basically a hardcore Sumo girl. But... I feel the story at the moment, is skewed towards the FL and the ML is looking like the villain. I know the cvs WILL bring things around but... time for me to do some Sumo bashing for a change... Please bear with me 😉

Cause and effect and Snowball effect. These are the two things that come to my mind when I think of the current conundrum.

I would not discount Shravan's contribution of blunders in all this.. but Sumo has her equal share too. Her mistakes are not current, but that does not give her cover either.

Mistake 2:

The whole thing started with Sumo's promise to Ramu. She promised to not reveal her feelings to Shravan. The cvs slipped here and added 2 additional clauses

1. Shravan declares his love... Sumo would not stop and promise broken

2. Shravan is in danger she would not stop herself.

So... Sumo wouldn't want 2 to come true... so she guns for 1.

She promises Ramu for her sister and lets Shravan go. But, instead of sticking to the promise tried to steer Shravan towards goal no 1 😃. The stupid girl knew how possessive and jealous her man is about her... BUT did it stop her? She teases Shravan in front of Adi... Sumo was aware of Shravan's state of mind, his confusions but still pretends to lead on Adi. And Shravan reacted, and rest is history!

Mistake 1:

Sumo is someone who talks about honesty... so why was she not honest with Shravan about Ramu's offer. Irrespective of the consequence.

Is it fair for Preeti to get married to Pushkar inspite of his mother's non acceptance? (we live in India and we marry into the family mother is the family especially if the son has no say!!).

If the Tiwaris knew that Pushkar would never say yes... and when everyone in Tiwari killa had given up on the marriage what made Mahan Sumu to sacrifice her love? Beats me... Sumo.

Why does Sumo take decisions alone? Decisions that need to be taken in a consultative fashion with the family. Mind you, Preeti is not her daughter, not even her sister...(cousin). So why take responsibility, especially when this might not result in a happy situation. Kamini is dead against this match and that might spell doom to Pretti in the future. Why did he not reveal this to Nanu?

Having said that... in the current scenario Shravan has behaved despicably and is the bigger sinner of the two...

BUT... if we do a root cause analysis we know where it all started. THAT does not excuse Shravan of the mistakes he has committed till now or the ones he is going to commit in the near future.

But the end result is.. they are both hurting. And neither will find happiness without the other. Both have failed the other... as friend and lover.

What I would like to see is for Sumo to find a way to call off this marriage with Adi and focus on her work and family. Like any sane, independent girl would do.

And Shravan to find a way out of the grave that he has dug for himself.

Looking forward to what the CVs have in store for us...

Your post is brilliant... it said everything I wanted to say on behalf of a girl...

For FL, when our near and dear ones do something for us we respect them and let theM hold the privilege of caring for us but when the same people measure the things they've done for us it becomes impossible to handle as girls like Suman consider them as emotional bonding rather than materialistic ...emotional bonding can never be measured to give it back in the same proportions. She has suffered so much in life that she has given up on looking behind the interior motives of people and rather considers things on face-value.

For ML, this guy loves each person around him unconditionally... but by realising that he would never be able to get such an unconditional love received a big blow which was not from Suman but was from his life...

The only love which we could get unconditionally on this planet is of parents... which our both leads unfortunately lacked but even of those two Suman is the most ill-fated. If we're to introspect closely even in this love we can find conditioning but is pertained to a certain level. Our ML must certainly someday understand that there's no love that is purely unconditional as its not a give-take policy but has emotions involved in it. We do know that he's acted so in a drunken state and so I pity him. He can reform only when he stops calculating emotions and that they are to be felt without any reasonable logistics.

Our leads are for each other as only they can reform and treat each other of their insecurities and emotional baggages.

Such a beautiful write-up..You have explained Sumo's state of mind all too well. Although Shravan's act yesterday was totally wrong, I do get his pov just Namik's acting was that convincing as well as some intelligent writing (w.r.t the 4 wpmen in his life). I am super annoyed by the repeated comments as to why Sumo isn't understanding him!! The main complain I have from cvs is that the story..or more aptly distribution of scenes is more tilted to Shravan's pov.. I want Sumo to question him mainly to put up a strong defence. Remember after the "revenge" party and the time when he used to avoid her and even during Nirmala fiasco, the way she questions him and puts forward her point...I am missing that now. I want her to speak up, argue..or even yell and kick him..anything to open the communication channel.
I do agree with what someone has written above..that she knows he is hurt but is too numb. Someone pour ice cold water on Sumo.Wake her up..Let her act even if it is to "chuck" Shravan :P


btw, what did Sumo mean by "hum saath nahi ho toh tum is taraf ghir jaao" ?

We will not be able to understand Sumo, that is for sure, but I think it is intentional. I don't think it is because of the complexity of her characterisation though. I think it is because of the simplicity. They go so far as to give us monologues to tell us what is on her mind, to justify her, to make her even simpler but I think we cloud her character with our perceptions and our judgements. Shravan compared her with the other 3 women in his life, but we compare a lot more, mainly with ourselves, in fact with our perceptions of ourselves. All of us want to be Sumo and all of us want to be perfect.Its a mind game, they show us a simple character but her intentions and actions don't tally and we project ourselves and every other ideal person we know and she becomes too complex to decipher.

I don't know if I am making sense 😆
