I understand where you're coming from and I agree she should compromise on some things, but it's unfair of her family to put such pressure on her, telling her to manage all the finances and make promises to the Malhotra's without thinking practically about where the money will come from.
She has already taken an advance/loan, which really would be better used to get her company started again but instead is being spent here. She is also sacrificing her love for Shravan for the sake of the wedding happening.
I think the societal pressures of the bride's family paying for everything is a big factor - she is unwilling to take any money from Shravan because he is the groom's side and she would never hear the end of it from Chachi if she were to find out. He is offering to help her as a friend, but she is trying to maintain what is expected of their new relationship as in laws to the best of her ability.
