Why did he go and reveal all to his dad? Because he listened to his inner voice... and he also feels his father will support him in his decision...Why would a father go against a son's intense and deeper feelings... one which stems straight from the heart? Thats why his father is approaching Sumo to maintain his false story?

Had he approached his son... his lies would have been out in the open
