Hello! Here's the long overdue update!
I'm sorry it took so long. I'm a sucky writer when in pressure and this week was just hectic! Finally i got some time off and here it goes!
Update:
Pushkar walked into his house, mind still reeling from his conversation with and they day's events. "Pushkar!" He heard his mother call him and he internally winced. He was in no mood to adhere to his mother's questions.
Kamini: kahan rehgaya tha? Shravan tere saath hai?
Pushkar looks up at the question. Bhaiya wasnt home yet? But he left long ago. Let him be.
Pushkar: haan saath the par jaldi chalegaye...
And he heads towards his room but kamini pulls his arm and stops him.
Kamini: par the kahan tumlog?!
He gets annoyed: arre the kahin par! Aap se matlab?
Kamini: ye kya tareeqa hai baat karne ka? Bol kahan par the! She yells
Pushkar (yells): SUMO KE PAAS!!
A door clicks open and ramnath walks out of his room. He had been listening to the two of them.
Ramnath: shravan suman ke saath tha?
Pushkar doesnt say a word and looks down. His brain was fuming. He dint feel like looking at the man who was responsible for this mess.
Kamini: pata nahi kya kala jadu kardiya hai is summan ne hamare beto par! Dekhiye na bhaisaab, itna sab hone ke baad bhi shravsn us hi ke paas gaya! Kitni koshish ki aapne ki woh door hojaye. Is ladhke ko koi faraq hi nahi padhta! Us suman ne toh jeena haram kiya hua hai! Pehle nirmala bahbai aur ab-
Pushkar eyes her and threateningly says "mumma!"
Ramnath: ye sab us nirmala ki ghalti hai! Ab tak mujhse mera beta chhenna chahti hai woh...par aisa nahi hoga! Dus saal pehle jaise mai ne shravan ko usse hamesha ke liye door kiya tha..abhi bhi karunga! Custody chaahti thi na woh, ab shravan bacha toh nahi raha aur woh mere khilaaf kabhi nahi jayega...
Pushkar was flabbergasted. Everything sumo told him just turned out to be true. He looked at the man in front of him in shock. Who was he? How could he? He couldnt believe it.
He musterred up the courage and asked: aap...aap ne bhaiya se utne saalo se jhoot bola?
Ramnath looked at him and then at kamini.
Kamini: puttar ji tu kuch nahi jaanta! Nirmala bhabhi kaam karne jaati thi...wahan oata nahi kitne aadmio ke saath kya...
Ramnath: aur mujhe ye bilkul pasand nahi tha. Mai chahta tha ki woh ghar par rahe aur shravan ka dhyaan rakhe. Par usse toh aona career zyada important tha na...
Pushkar: toh aapne unhe chorhdiya kyunki woh ek career woman thi?...aur bhaiya se kaha ki woh chalegayi?
Ramnath: aur kya karta mai?! Agar woh court mei custody ka case file kardeti toh woh jeet jaati. Toh mai ne us he shravan ki bhalayi ki qasam khane ko kaha aur woh chalegayi.
Pushkar stood unable to speak more. The man he had idolised all his life was a sham. He gathered his senses and spoke again
Pushkar: aaj aapne phir wahi kiya jo dus saal pehle kiya tha. Ek innocent aur ambitious aurat ki zindagi barbaad kardi. Phir se.
He teared up thinking about sumo, the way she had cried. And shravan who had lived a lie and his plight when he would find out.
Pushkar: BHAIYA TOOT JAYENGE!! he yelled tears now streaming down his face.
A loud cracking noise interrupted them from behind. Unknown to the three of them, another person had been in the room, listening to every word.
Shravan had just enterred the house when he heard pushkar yell at chachi. He had stood right there by the entrance, hidden by a pillar. Unconciously and unable to move as he heard each word. His father's revelation had broke him. His mind went blank and he felt unable to breathe. And when he confessed to have lied to him all his life, his head started to spin. She didnt desert him. His mother didnt desert him. He did. He deserted his mother. His legs gave way and he fell to knees, knocking over a vase from the table beside him. He descended to his knees and breathing became uneasy.
The three others in the room turned around at the sound and saw shravan, on his knees beside a broken vase. Kamini and ramnath stood like deeat caught in headlights. And pushkar was mortified. How long had he been standing there? He ran to shravan and knelt next to him, pllaving a hand on his shoulder. "Bhaiyaa...?" He tried to make shravan look at him. But the man was lost to the world around him. His mind was reeling with realizations and revelations. He looked at pushkar beside him, trying to say something. Another pair of feet approached him and he looked upto see his father trying to make him stand up.
Angerred boilled in him and he stood up slowly, jerking ramnath off of him.
Why? Was all he wanted to know and he asked
"Kyun kiya aapne aisa?" He asked as tears flowed from his eyes in reckless abandon .
"KYUNNN?" He shouted.
Ramnath and kamini took a step back as shravan yelled.
Ramnath: beta mai...mai tumhe khona nahi chahta tha aur...
Kamini: shravan puttar--
"YOU STAY OUT OF THIS! YOU'VE DONE ENOUGH!!!" shravan bellowed, cutting her off midsentence. She gasped in fright and shut up. Ramnath looked at him in anger.
RN: ye kya tareeqa hai chachi se baat karne ka?
Shravan: i dont care! answer me! Kyun kiya aapne ye sab? Meri poori zindagi jhoot nikli papa! Meri maa chheen li aapne mujhse. Aur ab mera pyaar bhi. Kya bigaadha tha sumo ne aapka?! Ohh! Darrgaye the na aap. Ki sumo mujhe aapki askiat mujhe bata degi. Well guess what! Usne mujhe kuch bataya hi nahi. Zaroorat hi nahi pafhi! Kyunki us din toh aap ye aurat (he points at kamini) ke saath wahan aagaye the. Aur ab sumo mujhse baat karegi kyunki aapki wajah se uska pct khatam hogaya. WELL f**kING DONE PAPA!
He clapped loudly.
Shravan: bin maa ka beta toh mai tha hi. Aaj bina baap ka bhi hogaya.
He took a few steps back, turned on his feet and left the house. Pushkar ran after him trying to stop him but he didnt pay any heed. He quickened his footsteps and started to run, loosening his tie. He had to run away from here. So he ran. He left pushkar far behind.
Sumo woke with a start. She had fallen asleep on preeti's lap as she tried to console her. Her sudden movement woke preeti up too.
Preeti: kya hua di?
Sumo looked around but couldnt say anything. Something was off. What could be worse after that whole day? But she felt her heart sink and her stomach churned. A sudden sadness tried to fill her brain and her heart thumped in her chest. Preeti fetched her some water and she drank it. What was happening to her? Her brain wandered through many things. Pct, the new order, a new place, what will she do now, but a figure lingered on her subconcious pulling her like a magnet that she was trying to repel but it was too strong. She finally gave in and he was back on her mind again. His betrayal, his words cut her, but for some reason, the sniking feeling in ber grew when she thought of him. What is happening??
Preeti's phone suddenly went off shrill into the night. She picked it up and both of them saw pushkar's name flash across the screen. Preeti picked it up as sumo looked at her. "Hello?" She mumbles. Then her expression changes into worry, leaving sumo even more troubled. "Pushkar kya hua tum...tum ro kyun rahe ho?..." sumo was now wide awake and a fear grew in her. Preeti suddenly gasped and suno took the phone from her. "Hello? Pushkar kya hua?" But he was sobbing over the phone "sumo..." her voice broke and her heart sank further. "Bhaiya ... accident.." he mumbled betwen sobs and dread filled her. The phone slipped from her hands and preeti caught it. She asked pushkar where they were and cut the call.
Sumo felt like she was drowning. So that was the feeling. Something had happened to him and she felt it. Her breathing became heavy and tears left her eyes. "Di...aap fikar mat kari. Kuch nai hoga shravan ko. Di dekho mujhe! Kuch baat karo suman di!" Preeti tried to console suman but to no effect. She knew what to do. Instantly she got up, wiped her face and grabbed her car keys. Preeti followed her.
