My Take On Today's Episode

Okay so not gonna lie, today's episode was kinda painful to watch. I love that we're getting to see the many different shades of Shravan but it's really hard seeing him act so sexist.
But truly, today's star wasn't even Shravan for me. Today was all about Suman and her amazinggg characterization.

I thought it was really interesting how in the beginning with the Preeta situation, Suman talks about how important her self respect is and yet, when Shravan is bashing on her as a cook and basically telling her she's a crappy chef compared to a man, she bears the brunt of his insult for HIS sake.

If this isn't love then what is? For Sumo, her self respect and her passion for cooking are above all else and it's amazing that she would rather let Shravan insult her livelihood than cause him more pain by making him realize that it's his mother's recipe made by Sumon.

I feel like a lot of people are really quick to judge Sumo and label her as childish (and trust me that bursting into the office thing was very childish) but at the same time, it's obvious through her actions how deeply she cares for Shravan.

As for Shravan... 😕

I know that it's important for the writers to show this angsty side of Shravan and highlight his frustration with women, but at the same time I find it really annoying how inconsistent his sexism is.

I mean, in the beginning, when he got mad at Sumo, he didn't bring up things like "women suck and men are great" and now he is? I know that his problems with women have existed from the beginning but it doesn't seem like Shravan to say more crap about women even after Sumo has apologized.

Also his line "you're a woman too right?" frustrated me because in the end, no matter how angry Shravan is with Sumo, he could have at least hesitated a little before admitting that he thinks she is also selfish. If not for anything then at least for the sake of their friendship 😭

All I can say is hats off to Namik for allowing us to both hate and love Shravan at the same time.

liked ur take on the dal scenario .. 👍🏼

as far as shrvn being rude with her consider this .. he had this attitude all along but he kept it hidden( couple of times he made remarks ) and he used to be the young shrvn ard her ..
but now facade is up and he is feeling vulnerable .. so he is building the wall of attitude again .. sumo will have to break the wall to get to the real matter

edit : i also feel regardless of what shravn said today abt sumo and women for him Sumo is an exception not the rule

Shravan demands a lot of loyalty and understanding of Sumo .. in today's epi he was irritated at the start of dal scene bcoz Sumo didnt feel the same abt the dal as him .. but finally when saw the sumo enjoyed it he smiled softly at her knowing she feels the same .. and then again attitude as he was angry with her ..

That is true I guess this side of him is coming out more now that they're closer and he expects her to understand him better than she does.

And thank you 😳

Sumo will pushall his buttons. His threats are just balderdash.
He was angry and irritated with her but he still pulled the chair and served her. So much for being an mcp.

I think Shravan is trying his best to not let her get in by turning on his mcp cloak. Because when she gets in he would feel a lot of pain in facing the past. And he would need to relive all that pain with her too. What if she too leaves him? Does he even want to risk that pain?

But... she is his guilty pleasure and his possessiveness will soon be evident once Sumo starts going out with the guy her family sees for her.

I know right! That seat scene made me go aww because in the end, no matter how angry or bullheaded he is, Sumo is still Sumo for him.

"She is his guilty pleasure " - You could say that again, and again, and again... 😊

I agree with everything you wrote...
I know it's very hard to accept this MCP side of Shravan (hell, it was hard for me to accept Sumo when she - despite knowing that he had been in a meeting - charges at him asking why he had not taken her calls... he was in a meeting, duh!) ... but wait, we know that these two are both well-flawed characters. If Sumo pushes all of Shravan's buttons, Shravan does the same with her... The young Shravan followed her around like a puppy, but this grown-up version will take as much as he gives... 😉
AND we love them, warts and all, right?

I know a lot of you liked today's episode...but I just can't say the same! I really wish I could...but yeh bar bar men are better ka jaap is looking forced...his hatred was already shown yesterday...toh fir aj repeat karna zaroori tha?? Kya yaar...we get the point...he does not like women...or so he wants his mind to believe!

Upar se he knows the dal recipe and says the same things his mom did...yeh bhi maloom hai ki jeera aur rye ek sath nahi jate (well I think they work just fine 😛)...yet he fails to connect it to his mom's daal?? Where's the logic?? It's not like his mom left him when he was a toddler...he has had her daal numerous times...so how can he not realize the daal tasted like his mom's daal??

Anyways...I don't want to spread negativity...just thought of sharing my views!

I love that idea that Shravan will take as much as he gives. It definitely applies to this situation and it makes me wonder how sorry he'll be when all this is said and done 😆😉

I can understand your thinking because like I said, today's episode was hard to swallow for me too. But honestly, when you look at this one episode in the context of the entire story, it's important for Shravan's frustrations to come out because without them, Sumo won't be able to understand the new Shravan. In her mind, she can butt into his life and tell him what to do because for her, he's still the 18 year old Shravan that would give up the world for her. He would still give up the world for her but now, he's not as dependent on Sumo and that's something she needs to understand. Obviously the past ten years have changed him and we as an audience along with Sumo need to understand just how much Shravan has changed before we move forward.
