So my thoughts...ramnath found the letter and went to sumo grandfather and he ask sumo to see if she could make shrvan be a success...sumo at the time used the best method she could think about at the time...as cruel as it was she put shrvan first..hence her sorry note..if u look at her character it is totally opposite from what he currently thinks of her..sumo at no point in time was ever a gold digger or cheap neither is she selfish...u have to look at her character through the grandfather's eyes...there maybe a bigger reason why ramnath respects the grandfather so much...shrvan clearly do not understand sumo...he only sees the outside not the inside...somewhere in the story shrvans mother will return and we will see the aunt being responsible for shrvans mother leaving...and I am guessing she is also some kind of professional as well as educated individual... Like he is giving sumo attitude it will be the same attitude he throws to his mother...the story is better than most Indian serials...
As for urvashi she is everything he has described sumo as and NO I don't feel sorry for urvashi because she has the right to refuse his proposal...so I really don't feel sorry for girls like urvashi...

PS anyone from Trinidad
west indies

Ramnath would have wanted the best education for his son but shravan would not have left sumo.and I think he would have found the letter shravan left for sumo so he used the opportunity to get sumo to get him to go to London.so as hard as it was for sumo to let shravan go she did what was best for him just like she do what's best for everyone.shravan did not look at the whole picture he saw what mattered to him but at a tender age sumo saw the big picture...we are yet to see her memories and FBS but we maybe surprise that she is not what shravan saw her to be...always remember you have to see sumo in the eyes of her grandfather who is wise and experienced. Don't know if I explained why this is my view.

I agree with this logic up to some extent.. but the reason could be that Shriven's dad wanted him to move out of country instead of sitting there and crying and he looked for Sumo's help. When Sumo found the letter she thought if she hurts Shriven then he will be heartbroken and will go to London. She also loved him but decided to help him to go for better future and waited fro him. Yes she was a bully but when they two were together they were best buddies.
Unless they were best bodies why will Shravan be so hurt at sumo's behavior and why will Sumo suddenly love him and wait for him?

Sumo's rude behavior and insult in front of school mates forced Shravan to decide to leave India and study abroad just what his father wanted.
