Sumo was hurt at the party which is understandable but she didn't think about Shravan and his humiliation all those years ago. For her it was her childishness and she seriously doesn't think she deserves such treatment from him. She cried because he had done all that but not once did she sit to think why he would do something like that to her.

Shravan felt guilty for sumo having to pay that sum of 3 lakhs and he wanted to help her. He gave her the money and when she returned it in the form of her mother's jewelry he was hurt. But why doesn't he think from her perspective? He humiliated her in front of all those people just a few days back and then he walks into her house and gives her money! Did he even once think about her self respect?

Why are they both so self centered? Why is their own hurt, their own humiliation, their own sadness, their own tears paramount? They cry but don't think of the other one's tears. They sit in their room in sadness but don't think if the other one who is equally sad.

Love, friendship or for that matter any relationship is not about one person. It requires both of them. I'm not asking them to forget their pain and only think of the other person but when one is hurt he/she has to realize that the other one is suffering too..
