Hi everyone! This is my first FF on Shravan and Suman. Although it's just been a week since the show started, I'm already hooked and in love with both Suman and Shravan's characters. Since I'm not really a good writer, I'm hoping I wasn't too bad 😳
Wait is timeless. Every second, every minute, every hour is a small reflection of "forever." Suman was well aware of this feeling now; she had waited all her life. To pay off her parent's debts, to earn respect from her family, to travel the world, and for the friend that she'd lost 10 years ago, Shravan. She thought about him every day, reminiscing their memories from the past. He used to be wimp, but today, he was a bright and emerging lawyer. "Jo banda thek se bol nahi pata tha, wo aaj argue karta hai!" Suman used to wonder, content on her childhood friend's success. Ever since he had arrived from London, she hadn't met him but there was a part of her that wanted to see him him badly. He used to be a friend, someone who cared, someone who was there for her and valued her presence, but she had only realized his worth after he left. After him, no one cared for her the way he used to. Except for her nanu, she felt that no one in her family truly cared for her. She was a mere encumbrance, whom everyone was bound to cope with. Sometimes, you don't realize something's value until you lose it, and that had happened with Suman. A small mistake had lead to her losing her most precious friend. And she regretted the fact that she had still not been able to apologize. This feeling had been enervating her since the past 10 years and she had decided that she'll put an end to it, finally apologizing to Shravan.
She drove to his office the very next day, adamant on going in and saying the two words to him: I'm sorry. Her feet were able to carry her inside the office but her heart didn't permit her to enter his cabin. For a moment, all the courage that she had garnered vanished into the tense environment of this place. "Kya kar rahi hai Sumo? You can't back out now." She told herself, and taking one deep breath, entered the room.
He was standing next to the window, talking on the phone to a client when the noise of the opening door forced him to look back. He was taken aback but tried not to seem surprised.
Shravan: Yes? What are you doing in here without my permission? Main kisi se bhi bina appointment ke nahi milta, aur jahan tak mujhe maloom hai, meri aaj koi bhi appointment nahi hai!
Suman: Shravan, main Suman!
Shravan cuts the call and walks toward Suman. She backs away a few steps.
Shravan: And? Main kya karoon agar aap ka naam Suman hai?
Suman: Shravan, I'm really sorry
Shravan: Aap apologize kyun kar rahi hai? I don't even know you
Suman: Jhoot mat bolo, main achi tarah se janti hoon ke tum pretend kar ke apna ghusa dikha rahe ho.
Shravan: Excuse me! I'm not pretending.
Suman: Maan jao Shravan warna aik thapad maroon gi to...
Shravan: Tum maro gi to main nana ji ko bata doon ga. Sumo tum janti ho ke wo meri hi side lein ge.
Shravan instantly realized his mistake. He was responded to her the same way that he used to 10 years ago. Up until now, he had been trying his best to conceal his feelings but refusing to recognize her but now it was not possible. Suman smiled hearing his words. So he did remember her. Shravan quickly turned away from her, refusing to see her.
Shravan: Chali jao yahan se Sumo
Suman: Main tab tak nahi jaon gi jab tak tum mujhe maaf nahi kar dete.
Shravan: I've moved on Sumo. Hamari dosti meri life ka wo chapter thi jis ke pages main book se phad chuka hoon. To na hi tumhare sorry kehne se kuch hone wala hai aur nahi mere maaf karne se. I don't care anymore.
Suman: But I do!
Shravan: Chali jao yahan se Sumo, or else I'll leave myself.
Suman: Thek hai, chali jaon gi, lekin jane se pehle kuch chodh ke jaa rahi hoon. Agar tumhare liye hamari dosti ka aik lamha bhi matter karta tha to dekh lena ise.
She left a middle sized box on his table and quietly walked out of the room. He didn't stop her. He was afraid that talking to her again could possibly give him the same pain that it had 10 years ago. He had lost his best friend and he didn't want to go through that feeling ever again. After she left, he looked at the box that she had left there and angrily pushed it off the table. The box fell open, all the notes inside scattering all over the floor. Shravan bent down, picking up a small note reading "I'm Sorry Shravan" dated 9th November 2011. One by one, he picked up all the notes that lay in front of him. Each read the same thing, but the dates on all of them were different . Slowly, he began to realize that Suman had written him a note for each day that he had not been here since the past 10 years. For a moment, he didn't know how to react. She was genuinely sorry for everything that had happened but he had turned her away. Instantly, he regretted his behavior. Life had given their friendship a second chance but he had turned her away. He ran out the room, hoping that she had not gotten far enough after leaving the office. Getting into his car, he left for her house. But getting there,he found out that she was at her office. He went there too, but her employees informed him that she had left to buy new vegetables. Taking the address of the market from them, Shravan quickly drove to that place, instantly recognizing her voice in the midst of the crowd. She was arguing with the vendor.
Suman: Phir se kharab bhindi di hai apne! Kab tak chale ga aise? Thane main report karwa doon gi aap ki ke aap apne grahaakon ko kharab saman bechte hain. Court case hoga aap par...
Shravan: Case ke liye lawyer ki zaroorat to hogi aap ko madam?
His voice was enough to make her turn. She would've smiled seeing him but the way that he had treated her earlier that day had disheartened her. She turned her face away, trying to avoid him.
Shravan: Batayein naa? Lawyer ke bina case larna buhut mushkil hoga aap ke liye
Suman: Main akeli hi buhut hoon. Easily argue kar sakti hoon. Koi zaroorat nahi hai mujhe tumhari
Shravan: Par mujhe zaroorat hai, tumhari dosti ki. Buhut intezar kia ke kabhi tumhare jaise koi miley ga par meri zindagi main tumhari jaga koi nahi le paya. You're irreplaceble Sumo. Main hamari dosti ko aik aur chance dena chahta hoon...
Suman was in shock. This was what she had been waiting to hear all these years. Another chance at their friendship was more than she could ask for. All she wanted was for him to forgive her, but he, like always had given her more than she could ask for. Shravan extended his hand towards her.
Shravan: Friends?
She slowly extended her hand towards his, until his hand encompassed hers. She smiled, her eyes glowing. She had gotten her best friend back.
