EBSS Opening Week TRP = 1 - Page 4

I don't know why many are saying this isn't a saas bahu show. Technically it isn't , but in spirit it is. It is just that here, instead of an evil saas we have an evil sister in law. Soon the story will showcase the conflict between an evil sister in law and a good sister in law. Then TRP will rise following saas bahu pattern.

Exactly. How is this not saas bahu drama when it has all elements of it. Jhanvi manipulating whole family, Shagun / apshagun, vidhwa pooja, alive person asking to do shradh, kaalith pothna all the high drama. Negative focus right now makes it look different. I think ppl had too much expectation bec of promotions. In this slot utna zyaada nahi aayega. Atleast not this soon. Did saathiya get high trp from first week?

Shrenu and Ayub did good job. Rest of the characters have nothing much to do. Ek strong negative character hai toh uske opposite ek strong positive force bhi hona chahiye which will come later i think.

I dont think romance focus hoga. It will be Jhanvi vs Kabir/kavya. Already jhanvi's plan of getting her sister married to kabir is spoiled unintentionally by them. Initially it will be unintentional not knowing her real face. Later kabir or kavya will come to know then drama towards exposure etc.

Yes, it is very similar to saas bahu serials, the only difference here is the saas's role will be played by sister in law i.e Jhanvi. Last week I didn't like anyone's performance except Jhanvi's. That's why I have mentioned already, all the characters need to develop. Until and unless there is a conflict between the positive and negative leads , there won't be any fun for trp audience.

One person torturing others is not good enough for them, how the heroine is handling this evil person is what they look up to. But for that Kavya needs to grow some mental strength, and also , her relationship with her husband should improve. I want their relationship to improve, by this I didn't mean lovey dovey kind of relationship , but one of trust and understanding and a basic level of friendship.

About promotional strategy, this show's promotional strategy is much like that of Nazar's where ,the negative protagonist and her evil deeds are focused on. But the story is about how the protagonists tackle this antagonist.

As per Salil ..7 PM slot has 1.1 TRP ..not 1

Was there any show in star plus channel got the high Trp rate in the past. ? The rate 1.1 is not bad in this time slot. The viewers always support the affected characters only. Till now Jaanvi character is being shown as a sympathetic one. The draw back is the other characters are failing to impress the viewers by their acting. Jaanvi character was highlighted in the promo only. In the episodes the other characters have more dialogues and the acting chances more than Jaanvi. Kabir-kavya characters are given more chances to impress the viewers. But these actors dialogue presentation is just like recitation. Especially kavya has zero expression. In my opinion she can't act in a serious role.

I beg to differ.

Firstly, nowadays the saas is rarely the villain, there are few exceptions like Pinky, etc, but not really anymore.

Secondly, what makes it different is that the 'vamp' is not a OTT villain like Kokila saas or Komonika (no offense to them). Jahnvi is much, much more subtle than all of them.

I agree there needs to be focus on other dynamics, which i have mentioned many times last week also. I would love to see more of Kabir and PK.

Also I am surprised to see a couple of people on this thread who spent a good time last year bashing Shrenu. If they hate her so much, why do they care for her show?🤣

Ananya,by saas bahu shows I meant only those shows which revolve around family politics, evil saas and bahus. Yes there is definitely a difference between them and Jhanvi. Jhanvi has a reason to be evil and has a humane side of her personality, but many villains are like that, of grey shades.

Who is Pinky? Are you talking about IB here? If yes, then even she was not completely evil. She had her own reasons for doing what she did, however weird it might be. About other names, I didn't watch those characters so can't tell.

But you are missing my point here, my point is that this show is about the conflict between the protagonist and the antagonist, that is, Kavya/ kabeer and Jhanvi respectively. Which is much like saas vs bahu. In saas bahu soaps saas creates problem bahu tries to prove how evil she is,similarly, in this show Kavya will do the same things after a few days. She will realise Jhanvi is evil and will try to expose her. After struggles she'll be exposed and At last Jhanvi will realise her mistake, most probably, and become a good person again.

My comment wasn't directed to you at all.

Also, Jahnvi is more....controlled, subtle. than say a Pinky who was overdramatic (the character I mean, Nikita ji is a good artist)

There is nothing melodramatic about Jahnvi YET. As compared to say other vamps on itv. That makes a difference.

I get what you are saying, but this is not a typical saas-bahu soap.

Also, all shows on ITV are the lead pair opposite a villain. It can be a family member or it can be someone from outside. There is absolutely no versatility there. Its always heroes v/s villains. *shrugs*
