Recap: Viraf has something planned regarding his secret relationship with Chhavi. Will his plan be successful or will things go sour between ViCha?
Viraf's POV:
It was a real challenge trying to coax Saba into giving me a couple of days off from shoot and it was even harder to convince Chhavi about why I was taking a break. After the shoot had wrapped up, I was hoping that Chhavi had gone home by herself because if I had to drive her home then she would do everything possible to get the reason out of me. I tiptoed to my dressing room, poking my head around every corner, hoping to dodge the eyes of Chhavi just in case she had been waiting for me. Her dressing room door was wide open and the lights were turned off too so it was pitch black inside. I felt slightly relieved knowing that I would escape the interrogation queen and I proceeded to stroll in my room casually. I flicked on the light switch and a scream emanated from my mouth when I saw Chhavi standing in front of me.
"Arey kya hua? Did I scare you?" Chhavi said while laughing at my scared face.
"Yaar obviously I got scared! I didn't think I was dating a bhootni!" I retorted as I placed my hand over my heart, waiting for the heart to beat normally again.
"Ok ok I'm sorry that I scared you but even I didn't know I was dating a scardey-cat either. Now tell me why are you taking time off shoot?" She said while grabbing me by the shoulders and forcing me to sit down on the bed.
"Errr Pune jaa rahi hoon main isliye. You know it's my niece's b'day so I thought I would surprise her," I said nervously hoping that would be enough to stop her from probing further.
"Oh accha that's so sweet! She will love that surprise but Pune is only about two and half hours by road so it's not really necessary for you to take more than a day off. Mujhse kuch chupa rahi ho kya?" She asked while she placed herself next to me on the bed.
"Arey Sherlock Holmes ki maa, actually Maa has requested that I stay a bit longer. Apparently kuch jaroori kaam hai jo mujhe karna hai," I said as I pulled her in for a side hug.
I actually wasn't lying this time and with Chhavi's confused face, even I began to wonder why my mother had specially requested that I prolong my stay in Pune. For some weird reason, I wasn't getting good vibes from this request but I have to go if I want my plan to work.
"Hey I'll drop you home and I have to set out for Pune tonight as well toh jaldi karo," I said nudging Chhavi who was falling asleep in my arms.
Through the whole drive from here to her house, I was silently praying that she wouldn't ask me any questions about my Pune trip and to my relief, I found her dozed off in the passenger's seat with her mouth slightly ajar. I pulled up near her house and called her gently to wake up.
"Oh! Hum ghar pahoch gaye kya? Was I snoring?" She asked me while rubbing her eyes profusely.
"Nahi mera sleeping beauty toh snore nahi kartha but she keeps her mouth slightly open to catch the mosquitoes flying around," I said as I lifted her out of my car in my arms.
I planted her feet down on the ground, right in front of her door, and watched as she fumbled to open her door due to her drowsiness. She turned to me frowning and extended the keys over to me.
"Please tum kar do na. Patha nahi aaj itna neend kyun aa raha hai," She said as she leaned up against me.
I opened the door and slowly walked in with Chhavi's body still leaning on me. I pointed her towards her room but instead of going towards it, she beckoned me to give her a tight hug.
"Don't go for so long Viraf. This is the first time we'll be away from each other for so long. Mujhe toh bhul nahi jayogi na?" She said sleepily as she wrapped her arms more tightly around my waist.
"Haha I'm only going for 3 days and before you know it, I'll be back shooting with you. Also who can forget this face which has a built-in mosquito catcher," I joked as I softly planted a kiss on her lips.
She mumbled a soft bye into my chest before untangling herself from that tight hug. Before she trudged off towards her room, she held my face with one hand and propped herself up to kiss me on the cheek.
"Drive safely ok and pahoch kar mujhe text ya toh phir phone karna. I love you," She said to me while stroking my face with her hand.
I kissed her on the forehead before heading out towards my car but I could feel my stomach churning as I got further and further away from her house. I didn't know if it was my hunger or my dread that was causing my stomach to do somersaults. Obviously, I had various reasons to visit Pune but my most important reason is to tell my parents about my relationship with Chhavi. I knew I had to make the first move and try to at least have my parents convinced before even attempting to handle the Patna crowd. However, it was the thought of my mother's request that had been lingering at the back of my mind and a thought that accompanied me through the drive to Pune.
Chhavi's POV:
I could barely stay awake as I struggled to change into my night suit. I washed my face to somewhat wake myself up so I could finish off some of the house work before going to bed. I was headed towards the kitchen when I heard my phone vibrating.
Hey are you free this Sunday? Dheeraj and I are going out for lunch so come join us. Also heads up, Pracheen will be there. Take care x
I read out Vinny's message, half disappointed that it hadn't been Viraf, but the thought of Pracheen being there scared me a little. I had somehow managed to cancel that coffee date with the excuse that I had a very tight shooting schedule but Sunday is my off day so if I cancel, I need a really good reason. I racked my head for reasonable excuses but I had suddenly gone blank. What am I supposed to do?
Hmm dilemmas for both Viraf and Chhavi ahead. Why has Viraf's mum requested him to stay in Pune longer? Will Chhavi go to the lunch date or will she come up with a solid excuse to cancel the meeting?
