Hey all,

Back with another chapter and thanks so much for all your wonderful comments!
Recap: Viraf revealed to his family the reason behind him rejecting Meera while Chhavi is trying to avoid Pracheen who clearly is very interested in getting to know Chhavi. Will Viraf be able to convince his mum and will Chhavi be able to get herself away from Pracheen?

Chhavi's POV:

It had been a very long day with my head heavy with the sound of Viraf's tensed voice and also with the disgusting flirtatious tone of Pracheen. Something about that guy was really off-putting and I had to find a way to get out of having to meet up with him. I tossed around under the covers for a while before I felt my eyelids slowly descending upon my eyes.

My eyes fluttered open again as I felt a strong arm tightly wound around my waist. I was going to scream when I turned to see a familiar face sleeping peacefully beside me with his mouth slightly ajar. His soft rhythmic breath gently caressed my face and I continued to marvel at how innocent his sleeping face was. As I slowly tried to wriggle out of his grasp, he gripped me tighter and pulled me back down onto the pillow. As I plunged down onto my pillow, my hair whipped him across the face and with a startle he woke up.

"Tum sach mein aa gaye ho ya mein abhi bhi sapna dekh raha hoon?" I asked him as I propped myself up on one elbow.

"Pinch karoon tumhein? Actually mere paas better idea hai," he said before reaching forward with his pouting lips to try and steal a kiss.

"Haan mere paas bhi ek good idea hai! How about tum pehle jaa kar brush kar ke aao," I said giggling as I pushed him back with my other arm.

"Pune wapas jaoon mein? Itne dino baad hum mil rahe hai aur tum ek kiss bhi nahi de sakhthi ho mujhe. Patha hai mere peeche kitne sare ladkiyan padhi hui hai Pune mein?" he sulked while pulling me closer to him so that our faces were only a couple inches away from one another.

"So what? Mere bhi piche ladke padhi hui hai yahaan. Yeh maat socho ki mere paas tumhara alawa aur koi option nahi hai," I whispered back to him as I rubbed his nose with mine.

Before I could wiggle myself out of his grasp, he tightened his hold and buried his face into my neck and began to rain down soft little kisses which got me into a fit of laughter. I was gasping for breath as he continued to tickle me but as we both got tired, he stopped and we both lay on our pillows looking up at the ceiling.

"I missed you a lot you know. I was so worried hearing your voice over the phone and I couldn't even sleep properly," I said to him placing my head on his broad chest.

The shrill noise of my morning alarm caused me to jerk myself awake as I fished around trying to find my phone to shut it off. As my eyes slowly opened, I turned quickly to my side hoping to see Viraf's sleeping face next to me. Instead of his sweet innocent face, I saw the bright light of my phone screen blinking because of the alarm. I felt my chest deflate and pangs of disappointment settle in as I really had been dreaming this whole time. It was going to be yet another excruciatingly long day of shoot without Viraf so I decided it was best for me to get ready before Saba herself came here to drag me to work.

On the sets:

We had just wrapped up shooting close ups of my face to register my expressions for a particular scene when Sodhiji said cut. Taking the green tea that the spot boy had delivered to me, I trudged along to my dressing room when along the way, I was informed that someone was waiting to meet me. A little surprised by the announcement, I turned up at the door which was slightly ajar, not revealing who it was sitting inside. For some odd reason, I felt my stomach dropping as if something strange was about to unfold when I swung the door the open. With trepidation, I pushed the door wide open to see a woman sitting with her legs crossed and fixing her hair looking into my dressing room mirror.

I coughed lightly to grab her attention and she stopped rummaging through her voluminous brown hair to look at me. Her face softened and she flashed me her perfect set of teeth before standing up to come give me a hug. As she pulled me into a hug, I got a whiff of the same perfume that I apply everyday.

"Um hi but have we met before?" I asked her confused as she pulled away from the hug.

"Oh no actually we haven't but I'm so happy to see you in person! My name is Meera by the way," she chirped as she extended her hand for me to shake.

'Ahh nice to meet you Meera. So how can I help you?" I inquired as I beckoned for her to have a seat.

"Well I just came to meet you after having heard so much from you know who. I'm just very pleased that his taste in women hasn't changed at all. You're very beautiful," she said while sizing me up from top to bottom.

The pit of my stomach began to feel uneasy again as she continued to praise me but I couldn't put a finger on who she was referring to when she said "he' had talked a lot about me.

"Sorry but who are you talking about? My brain is a little slow today haha," I laughed awkwardly as fine lines appeared on my forehead from confusion.

"Oh my! You mean Viraf hasn't mentioned me at all? I thought he would've told you about me especially since you guys have been seeing each other for so long. Actually fair enough we haven't been in contact for many years but we met up in Pune recently," she said to me as her tone changed slightly as if she was trying to insinuate something.

"Accha nahi usne aap ke bade mein kuch kaha nahi. Aap dono school mein friends thi kya? It's nice to meet up with school friends after a long time right?" I asked trying to silence my anxiety within.

"Haha yes very nice to meet up with old school friends especially if you dated them years ago," she said to me smiling with her eyes locked onto mine.

Before I could say anything further, she rose to her full height which was a couple of inches taller than me. She approached me to hug me again but this time it wasn't as warm or friendly as the first hug. When she pulled away, she grabbed my hands and cradled them in her hands.

"Chhavi I'm so glad that he found you. Mujhe laga tha ki shayad woh mujhe bhul nahi payega aur kisi bhi random ladki ke saath relationship mein chali jayegi but I'm so happy he chose you. Anyways mein kuch din aaya hoon toh agar tum free ho then we should all go for dinner?" she said to me with the chirpiness returning in her tone.

"Haan...ah sure we should definitely go have dinner. Listen it was lovely meeting you but I have to back and shoot again," I replied slowly retracting my hands from hers.

"Yeah of course. I left my number on a piece of paper on your table so feel free to give me a call when you and Viraf are free. By the way don't you just love Viraf's taste in perfumes? He gave us both the same perfume! Anyways bye," she said to me faking her excitement and bubbliness before strutting out of my dressing room.

Chhavi's house:

I had been gazing at the piece of paper Meera had given me this morning for ages and thinking about why Viraf had never mentioned her even once. Sure everyone is entitled to having a past but why would you hide something like this? I took a sip from my umpteenth cup of green tea to flush my head of the multitude of thoughts but the sound of my door bell forced me to get up and walk to the door. I opened to see a statuesque figure standing and looking straight at me.

"Viraf? Tum yeha iss waqt? Pune se itna jaldi laut aayi ho?" I asked with the shock evident in my voice.

His face looked sombre and his tall broad gait was trying to shield someone standing behind. I craned my neck to see who he was protecting but to no avail.

"Koi aaya hai kya tumhara saath?" I inquried as his expression remained constant.

The person slowly came out into my line of sight and I almost dropped my green tea seeing who had come at my doorstep at this time of night.

That's all for now! Stay tuned to see what happens next and who has come to pay Chhavi a visit! As always leave your comments and feedback behind!

Love,

Shegufta x

Recap: Manasvi and Sodhiji notice something brewing between ViCha while both Saba and Chhavi have some career changing news for one another. Will ViCha patch up and what is this career changing news?

CHAPTER 16

Chhavi's POV:

I felt a tad bit light headed as I gently raised myself up from the pillow I was resting on. I found myself in my dressing room with someone measuring my blood pressure and members of the crew with their curious eyes fixated on me.

"Doctor woh toh tikh hai na ab? Kya hua tha? Aise achanak faint kyun kiya usne?" Viraf asked as he bustled into the room.

"Dekha na maine kaha tha kuch toh hai. Aisa lag raha hai ki Viraf bhi ab faint karni wali hai," Manasvi sir whispered into Sodhiji's ear and smiled seeing Viraf quickly taking Chhavi's hand.

"Haan Viraf nothing to worry about. Actually shayad stress ke wajah se uska blood pressure drop kiya aur usko chakkar aaya. Nothing serious but thoda waqt ke liye unko rest karna chahiye and try to make sure she doesn't take too much stress," the doctor said while packing up his medical equipment.

I was about to sit up whether when Viraf's tight hold on my hand kept me firmly grounded to that pillow. I tried to wrestle out of it the grip but I was met with his stern eyes telling me to stay put. As angry as I was with him, something in my brain told me to listen to him and let him hold my hand.

"Chhavi tum ab rest karo aur hum jaa ke shot ready karthe hai Viraf ke liye. Tumhari shot hum baad mein le lenge. Chaliye Manasvi ji ab kuch kaam bhi kar lethe hai. Also Viraf tum bhi thoda stress kam karo yaar nahi toh tum bhi faint karoge," Sodhiji chuckled as he patted Viraf on the back and left with Manasvi sir.

"Viraf main..." I began to speak when Viraf looked at me sternly once more which made me stop midway.

"Please ab kuch maat bolo. Bohot hogaya tumhari yeh stress aur anger. Rest ki baad jitna argue karna hai mere saath kar lena but ab mere liye chup hojao," he said as he stroked the stray hairs from my face.

"Nahi mujhe kuch bathana hai tumko," I pleaded as I sat up against my pillow and faced him directly.

"Kya? Kal raat ke baad aur kuch kehna baaki hai because agar hai toh ab mujhe nahi sunna hai. Please ab argue nahi karthe hai, tum rest karo aur main shot de kar aathi hoon," he said while grabbing my shoulders and forcing me to lay down flat on the bed again.

With one last glance at me, he sauntered off without saying anything more. I came to work late because I could hardly sleep last night with all that had transpired but a thought came into my mind which kept me awake. Viraf was right that at least he had the courage to open up to his family whereas I was still struggling to tell my parents.

Earlier that morning:

I woke up when the bright beams of the sun entered my room through the gap in the curtains. I turned on my side to check the time on the clock when I realised how terribly late I was going to be for work. I leapt out of bed and hurriedly got ready to leave which left me no time to have breakfast.

I dozed off a little in the car when the loud ringtone of my phone began to ring and jolted me awake.

"Hello?" I inquired sleepily without checking the caller ID properly to see who it was.

"Hello, Chhavi? Tu abhi takh soh rahi hai kya? Kaam nahi hai aaj?" my mother asked.

"Nahi kaam par hi jaa rahi hoon bas thoda sa tired hoon main. Kal tikh se neend nahi hua hai. Aap batao subah subah phone kiya apne?" I asked in a barely audible tone as I rubbed my sleepy eyes.

"Baath hai ki humne yeha bohot din se tere liye ek accha ladka dhoond rahi thi. Tu akela waha Mumbai mein rehthi hai kaam karthi hai toh tera toh time nahi hoga yeh sab sochne keliye. Aur kal tera liye ek bohot accha rishta aaya hai aur ladka toh bohot accha hai. Main soch rahi thi..." my mother gushed before I interrupted her enthusiastic spiel.

"Please Maa aapko patha hai ki main ab shaadi keliye ready nahi hoon," I retorted in annoyance with her excitement over this issue.

WORK STILL IN PROGRESS DO NOT COMMENT YET
