SAVING TARA

Next day, Aradhana left for the palace kissing Tara, which made her remember the precious gift that she has and Mrityunjay doesn't. She tried to engage herself in work but the thought of Mrityunjay didn't leave her. And finally she surrendered herself to her heart and headed towards the Enchanted forest.

Thinking whether he will be angry or happy seeing her, she landed up where Prince Aditya and his troops were attacked. Reaching there, she realized her mistake and started to leave when she heard the crumbling of leaves.

Before she could understand what was happening, she was knocked down by Nandini.

"You are too beautiful girl and your blood must be very tasty. If you were not Kalavati's demand I would have drank your blood."

She was provoked by the smell of her sweet blood. Her eye's were changing it's colour from black to red.

"What if I just taste her?"

Thinking this Vampire Nandini's sharp teeth touched her wrist.

In the palace Aradhana suddenly got a jolt while combing the Queen's hair.

"What happened Aradhana?"
"My Queen it felt like something bad has happened. "

"If you are worried about Tara then relax. She knows how to deal with things ."

Mrityunjay was out on his mission to hunt the vampire. And as a place of regular search, he was coming towards the spot were the Prince and the troops were attacked.

He stopped at a distance on hearing the crumbling of leaves. That place was behind the shrubs and so he was not able to see the source of that noise. After a second, he heard a human voice which was crying from pain. He quickly understood that some human had been attacked by an animal. He quickly removed his crossbow and placed an arrow on it and fired it in the direction from where noise was coming, hitting his target.

He immediately moved to rescue the wounded person and see the animal. When he reached the place, he saw a badly injured vampire, Nandini. She flew from that place seeing a hunter. Mrityunjay quickly rushed to the person lying there.

He was shocked to see Tara lying unconscious. For that very moment, the strong hunter Mrityunjay was helpless. He quickly picked her up in his strong arms and rushed to the near by lake.

Lake Nostos was believed to be magical and was said to have the power to heal any wound quickly.

He sprinkled some water on her face, and in response Tara squeezed her eyes. Seeing her coming to her senses, he hugged her. He felt like he got the most precious person of his life back. The hope that he lost a moment ago, was once again there. He made Tara drink water from his hand bringing her to full consciousness.

She woke up like nothing had happened to her. Seeing herself near the lake and then finding herself in Mrityunjay's arms, she thought it's her dream like the other day but when a tear from Mrityunjay's eye fell on her pink cheeks, she realized it was not her dream but reality. She was shocked and pleasantly surprised.

"What you are doing here? ...What am I doing here? I was. .."

Hearing Tara's voice, Mrityunjay broke out of his trance on her and said, "You were attacked by a vampire. What do they want from you?"

""What ?"she exclaimed astonished.

"Sometimes you are chased by a witch, then sometimes by a vampire. What business do you have with them?"
"Business! Who wants to have business with them? The reason for that witch chasing me I know but I don't have any idea regarding that vampire." She replied getting up from Mrityunjay's lap.

"I know there is a vampire in the forest but Tara can't sit at home in fear. I came here to meet you."

Realizing himself to be her reason for her being in the forest, he was pleased. But after a moment, he also realized that he was the reason for her being attacked and his own failure in capturing the vampire. He was determined to safeguard her.

"She is not going to stop coming in the forest. She is courageous but for her safety she needs to be away from this forest. Tara I will make sure that you go away from this forest." Thinking this he stood up and turned away from Tara but was able to see her reflection in the lake.

Tara was cleaning herself. The water droplets on her face shone like pearls. The sun rays falling on her made her face glow like a rose blooming in a spring morning. He was lost in looking at her.

He was losing his determination, but then his inner self nudged him,

"Mrityunjay don't forget what is right for her. Her safety is in staying outside the forest. Banish her from the forest. Do it now...do it."



Tara saw Mrityunjay watching her.

"Oh.. I was in his arms...I was..."

She was trying to believe what had happened a few moments ago.

"You are such a chatter box Tara. You are a trouble magnet. When ever I meet you, you are in trouble. I already have enough trouble in my life. Please don't increase it." He said in a harsh voice and each word of his hurt Tara.
Tara was surprised and listened to him quietly. She could not understand how he can talk to her like that.


"What happened to him? He was alright moments ago. Suddenly what happened to him?" She tried to talk to him, but before she could say anything he moved away and went to bring Maria.




"Leave this forest immediately and never return here." He commanded and grabbed her hand and made her sit on Maria.

Tara was not able to understand what was happening. Before she could understand anything, he galloped Maria faster than ever and in a few minutes they were out of the woods.



He rode outside the forest, dropped her there and rode his mare back into the forest without looking back at Tara.




Tara couldn't believe what happened just moments ago. "He is so rude and arrogant. I came to meet him and he talked to me like that. I will never go to the forest." She said fuming in anger and left for her place.
