Surprise
One day, after college was over and Tara was walking out of college with her fellow lecturer, when she and the others heard
~Tum paas aaye yun muskuraye
Tumne na jaane kya sapne dikhaye
Ab to mera dil jaage na sota hai
Kya karun haaye Kuch kuch hota hai~
Tunes were being played on a guitar. They walked in the direction from where the music was coming. There was a man who was playing this tune but his face was not visible to Tara as he was surrounded by students. All of them were enjoying the tunes.
"Tara see that man, I wish he would be my man. His strong arms, perfect body and broody look with stubble. Oh god...who will be or is that lucky girl who will be or is his better half?" said her fellow lecturer, who was standing next to Tara and was a little taller than Tara.
Tara smiled hearing her comment drooling on that unknown man. After the tune finished, everyone clapped and the students started to leave that place. Tara too wanted to leave that place but her lecturer friend stopped her to see that man.
When most of the students were gone from there, she pulled Tara in the direction where the unknown man was sitting.
Seeing that man's face, Tara's eyes opened wide with surprise.
"Hi" said the lecturer.
The man looked up to see who had spoken, when his eyes met Tara's, "Tara," the man replied.
Sensing that the man knows Tara, the lecturer asked, "Who are you?"
"Mrityunjay, Tara's husband."
"Tara Ma'am, I was not getting the tune and so asked Bhai to show me." Saying this, Yug took the guitar from Mrityunjay's hand and left that place.
Tara's fellow lecturer, after knowing that the man belonged to Tara, was embarrassed on her comments about him moments ago. She immediately left that place.
Tara gave a quick glance at Mrityunjay's body. "She was drooling over Mrityunjay ...Why? Who gave her the right to do that?" She walked towards the car while thinking about this.
Mrityunjay opened the car's front door and asked her to sit; she was puzzled with this but sat anyways. She was quietly watching what he was doing. He opened the door to the driver's side and sat inside.
Tara was in complete surprise at what she saw just now. She adored him and her eyes were filled with tears of happiness.
Seeing Tara's reaction of disbelief, Mrityunjay clicked in front of her eyes, "What happened?"
Tara replied, "Nothing."
Mrityunjay started the car and drove home. On their way home, Tara was staring at Mrityunjay lovingly from the corner of her eyes.
"Oh...Mrityunjay you don't know what I am feeling right now. You are driving a car... today without anyone's support. It's such a big occasion for me to see you driving once again. You overcame your fear of driving."
After reaching home, Tara said "Thanks for giving me such a wonderful surprise."
"It's your trust Tara, because of which I am what I am."
"No, it's your trust on yourself Mrityunjay."
Dadaji, who was already informed by Joseph that Mrityunjay had gone to pick Tara from college, went to the door to see Mrityunjay driving once again. His eyes were teary to see Mrityunjay driving again, and then he smiled hearing their talk and said, "Leave this conversation, otherwise days will be spent discussing this topic." Hearing Dadaji's comment, both of them smiled and moved in.
"Dadaji, we got the contract which I had discussed with you last month." He hugged Dadaji saying this.
"I know Mrityunjay, your manager called me to inform this. I am happy for you Mrityunjay. To celebrate this, I have kept a small party here tonight." Hearing Dadaji, Tara's smile faded a little.
"Party...that means I need to be there in the party...but...but I have never attended such kind of parties. What will I do?"
She was lost in her thoughts when Dadaji said, "Don't worry Tara. It's a small party and only our close friends are coming."
He knew Tara would be uncomfortable and so he cleared the air. "Ok, now you go and rest. Today's evening is yours" Saying this, Dadaji went into his room.
In their room Mrityunjay slept after freshening up as he was tired because of driving so much after a long time.
Tara switched on the radio and started doing her college work but was not able to do it as again and again her fellow lecturer's comment on Mrityunjay haunted her mind.
"Why did she say like that? Who is she to say such things about Mrityunjay? Whoever he has married, why would that girl be lucky?"
She examined Mrityunjay from head to toe. "Why am I worried over what she said? She can say whatever she wants to, why am I acting like this?"
"Are you jealous Tara?" questioned her inner self.
"Who me?" she replied.
"Yes you." replied her inner self.
"Why would I be jealous? Mrityunjay is a good man." She replied giving a quick glance at Mrityunjay.
"That's it? Don't you have feelings for him? Don't you think he is good husband? Why are you worried for him? Why did you walk an extra mile to bring him out of depression? Why are you jealous by that teacher's comment? Answer honestly Tara. Do you love him?" Tara closed her eyes to get the answer of this question.
A quick flash of memories played in her mind, from their first meeting to him saving her from falling, giving her his visiting card for help, marrying him , giving the same respect to her mom as he gave to his Dadaji, doing things to make her happy. Their horse riding sessions thinking about which gave her goose bumps. His trust on her. What else could anyone expect from a husband? She realized her respect towards him had slowly converted into love for him. She slowly whispered, "Yes, I ...I love him."

Soch samjh kar ye sauda kiya hai
Main ne pyar kiya pyar kiya pyar kiya hai~
Hearing this song, she shyly raised her eyes up to see Mrityunjay and then quickly lowered it. Then she once again moved her eyes on him, "I am such a fool. I always thought love can happen anytime and I didn't realize it when it happened to me. He was always in front of me and it took so much time for me to realize this." She was watching Mrityunjay sleeping as if she was day dreaming about the most beautiful feeling in this world.
