No, I am not just referring to all the flute and dance shows of Krishna, radha and other gopikas in vrindavan alone. There should surely be something more than this? Despite having so many women in his life who spent a major part of their lives with him, why is he called Radha Krishna?

My 11 year old daughter was asking me this question as one of my cousin is named Radha Krishna.😊

Any thoughts?

Sri Swami Vishwananda: One day Krishna pretended to have a terrible headache and He was screaming "Ah, I have terrible pain."
Everybody was shocked, you know, and said "Oh, my Lord, what can we do for you?"
All those who had said they would do anything, said "Lord, we will do anything for you; tell us."
Even Narad Muni came, who sings always, "Narayan, Narayan" saying "I will do anything, my Lord, to cure your headache".
Krishna looked at them all and said "OK, fine.
To cure my headache I need the dust off your feet; I need that you press my head with your feet."
They all got shocked.
He, the Lord of Universe, is asking that His head be pressed by their feet.
None of them considered themselves worthy for that.
They were very scared, you know, that to press God's head with their feet is
so disrespectful, first, and secondly, for sure they would go to hell for doing it.
So everybody was a bit aghast.
Everybody was discussing, talking with each other how would they do that.
At that moment Radha came and she saw Krishna in such a state, you know.
So, she went to Krishna and said to Him "My Lord, tell me", and Krishna said
the same thing that He had said to the Gopis.
Then, when she heard what she had to do, without thinking, without considering about
herself, she said "Yes."
There was Krishna lying in pain.
She started pressing the head of Krishna with her foot and everybody was shocked. At that moment Krishna's headache was gone.
Everybody was shocked, you know.
They came to Radha and were very angry with Radha and started cursing Radha, saying "Oh, you are so bad, you are mean.
How come you have put your feet on the head of our Lord?
Then for sure you will go to hell."
Radharani said to them "Well, even the deepest hell will be a blessing for me, for it has cured my Lord's pain."😊

This is one part of the story, in the other part I've also heard that instead of Radha Rani's feet it was water she had to sprinkle on Krishna but it would make her go to hell.

And also, Radha Rani is the avatar of Laxmi. She only lived for Shree Krishna and was his soul. The only reason she stayed alive after Krishna left Vrindavan was because Krishna had to finish his leela. They are one soul and two bodies.

Thanks a lot for this! I too have heard that in Krishna avatar, every one took something from Krishna, but Radha was the only one to whom Krishna was indebted to. Hence, it was the Lord's wish that he be called Radha Krishna.
This has helped me to clear my daughter's doubt😊

I'm glad I could be of some help. 😊There is also this story that Radha and Krishna were cursed by Krishna's friend Sudhama that they would be seperated for 100 years, which is why when they took birth in avatar from they were seperated. Sudhama cursed Radha because she yelled at Krishna one day and as Krishna was very dear to Sudhama he could not tolerate this. I'm not sure how true it is but it is also shown in Ramanand Sagar's Krishna serial and also a little bit in one of the Puran's.

Another thing is that when Krishna was going to come down to play his leela, Radha wanted to accompany him to and observe his leela but Krishna said it would cause her great harm as they wouldn't be physically together and she said that's alright as her only mean is to observe her Lord's Leela and thus it is explained why despite being secretly married they were seperated. But, they are/were/ and always will be one soul so there really is no seperation😊

Sudama cursing Krishna is one of those wacko stories that pass off as mythos, similar to Vishnu trying to kill Lakshmi or Rama asking Lakshman for Sita's severed arm (as per Ananda Ramayan). Sudama had nothing but the deepest love for Krishna, and the way he was welcomed when he visited Dwarka was legendary.

Anyway, back to Rukmini's character on this show - the other day, I found it strange how she was addressing Krishna by name, and Revathy as her bhabi instead of her didi, and watching a re-run of Friday's episode, when Balarama, Revathy & Rukmini were appealing to the pundit for a way out of the curse, Rukmini was referring to Krishna as Kanha, just like Balarama & Revathy was. This was heights - Rukmini was not Yashodha, Rohini, Balarama or even Revathy: how can she refer to Krishna by his childhood name?

I didn't previously think that an actor needs to have a knowledge and faith in the deities s/he is portraying, but now I do.

^^ It sounds wacko because we're involving Sudama, though the curse was given by a certain Shridama. Different people from entirely different backgrounds, but I have no doubt that these CVs will make the same mistake.

And I second your confusion at Rukmini's way of addressing Krishna, not only that she chose a childhood name but that she used a name at all rather than a title. What happened to aarya putra, aarya, swami, etc.? Went out the window with sarees, I guess.

That being said, her new crown is far easier on the eyes than the naag kanya headgear she had on before 😆

On this occasion, she was referring to him in third person, and for that, wives did sometimes use their husbands' names, but it was still strange that while asking the Pundit to do a puja to save him, she asked him to save Kanha, rather than Dwarkadheesh, or Shri Krishna, or mere aryaputra. However, in the morning, when Krishna left, she did address him directly as Kanha, which was jarring to hear - she's not his mom. Are the scriptwriters as clueless, or is it just the actress?

When she woke up yesterday, I liked the fact that she wasn't wearing any jewelry while asleep. And yeah, I'm glad that her pearl headgear was left back in her maayka.

I DO AGREE m not likin her as rukmini
she is expressionless
i two episode the during convo of krishna and rukmini
i didn't like her body language and she is acting like typical saas bahu - woman.
she knows that she is laxmi ma incarnation and krishna is god then why she is beleiving in superstition like today's woman do

she should be confident about her husband lord krishna that he god.
now the love for lord krishna is seeing less from rukmin the way she was loving him before marraige n waiting for krishna n.

i can't see laxmi ma attitiude in rukmini

If the scriptwriters are showing Rukmini having such little faith in her Lord, what will happen when Pradyumna gets kidnapped?😲 God, she will tear him apart- and drown us in her 😭 😭 😭

Do the scriptwriters want us to believe that this is the same Rukmini who, in future, is going to demonstrate her devotion by placing a single Tulsi leaf which will outweigh all of Satyabhama's gold? ISn't it about time to start showing the devotion now?

As starters, she can start referring to Krishna as "Aryaputra"...

Yes, she should address him as Aryapurta. If the scriptwriters want variations they could use "swami", "nath", "prabhu". No first names please. Definitely NOT "kanha" and I don't like "suniye" either.😡
