I will comment on the episodes of this week once I've seen them. For now, I'll just comment on the coverage of Kritavarma in yesterday's episode, and contrast that w/ what he actually did.

First of all, they seem to have changed Kritavarma, who was different in Balarama's battle w/ Sishupala. Secondly, they're not showing any of Krishna's kinsmen - Uddhav, Akrura, Sini, Satadhandva, or any others.

Second thing - Kritavarma was never a favorite of Krishna's, as, say, Satyaki was. The first mention of him comes during the Syamantaka gem story, when he was one of the 3 suitors of Satyabhama who got passed on by her father when he gave her to Krishna, and he was one of those who plotted to kill her father and steal that gem. In the Udyog parva of Mahabharata, after Duryodhan got Krishna's 'split support' and was declined by Balaram, he approached Kritavarma separately, and Kritavarma joined him w/ one of his akshaunis. That's not something that anyone close to Krishna could have done - Balarama didn't, Samba didn't.

Also, Kritavarma was one of the 3 Kauravas - the other 2 being Ashwatthama & Kripa - who massacred the Pandava army while they were sleeping. In the end, the Yadava fratricide was sparked by Satyaki reminding everybody of how Kritavarma had massacred the Pandava army in their sleep which no other kshatriya had ever done, and how he had plotted against Satyabhama's father. This actually enraged Krishna a bit, even though it was years after those events - and when fighting broke out, Krishna did nothing to save Kritavarma, but after Satyaki & Pradhyumna were killed, he started fighting.

So given this character profile of Kritavarma, I wasn't too thrilled seeing him on such chummy terms w/ Krishna, and exacting a promise from him w/o knowing what it was. I just wish they'd start introducing others, like Ugrasena, Akrura, Udhav, Sini, Satadhandva, Satyajit, Prasenjit and so on, and in that case, it'll look like a fuller coverage of things, rather than Thomas and his mom.

Didn't you know? This famous (Kritvarma-and-his-babe) scene occurs in Srimad Sagar Bhagavatham😡 😡

I didn't get its context since eventually Krishna- Rukmini's daughter Charumati gets married to Bali, Kritvarma's son.

It is Sagar's brain child 😆 sometimes they must be borrowing story writer of saas-bahu show.😆 Akrur will come at the time of Syamanstakmani track.

I know he probably will. My point is that it'd be a lot smoother if we were to see these characters all or mostly introduced early on, and then get prominent whenever their big moments arrived, instead of being dropped in all of a sudden just b4 the big moment. By now, we should have been introduced to Ugrasena, Akrura, Satyaki's father, Satrajit, Prasenjit and a whole lot of others.

True, introducing them earlier, as the story developes, will work better, they all have played important roles in Krishna's life😊

^^^ I missed the episode, but if he said that, it's probably b'cos he counted Balarama as belonging to Rohini? But you're right, that is inaccurate, since the prophecy was that Devaki's 8th son would kill Kansa.
And speaking of someone's question on this, they're probably still figuring out who to cast for Rohini's & Subhadra's role. I hope they don't later show Subhadra as Devaki's daughter, and yeah, shouldn't she have been there on her brother's marriage? Also, was the custom of the sister tying the brother's knot there @ the time, or was it a more recent addition? And if so, shouldn't Subhadra have tied Krishna-Rukmini's knot?

I thought I was the only one who heard that so probably misheard it... glad I wasn't 😆 Anyway the big gaping hole in this track for me, apart from its lack of authenticity since I'm not really expecting that here, is that how the hell can people think of Devaki as a cursed mother after she's already given birth to Krishna?!!! He clearly survived, and because of him so did the rest of Mathura's population. The thought of such a superstition persisting in spite of that is kind of stupid. 'Twas nice to hear him exclaim so emphatically how much he loves her and proudly refer to himself as Devakinandan several times in the epi, especially since it balanced out some apraadhs they committed during JSK in that respect 😵 But the track itself, even though it seems to be the set-up for a real text-based incident, is being handled very soap-ishly.

Ok so talking about this week's episodes...

When first Shiva entered then Parvati entered & then the gods one by one then in group...looked like ramp walk was going on🤣 Sorry! bad joke!😳

It was good to see the wedding preparations going on. I don't actually enjoy those Amod & his mother scenes, sometimes they're just too stretched...sorry if anybody likes those scenes. Amod behaves like a small kid all the time. Btw at the market he just picked up some clothes to see it & the shopkeeper already declared him a thief😲 Btw if Amod can walk then how come he couldn't walk to go & watch the marriage procession😕 Was he waiting to recieve power from Krishna😆 And looks like he recieved & over doze of it & started dancing & dancing until he fell down Anyway, it was really sweet to see Krishna caring for Amod & solving his clothes & walking problem😳

When Rukmi called out Krishna's name so loudly... I was seriously scared for a moment & thought now what are the Sagars up to?😆 He just wanted to brush off some dust from Krishna's clothes🤣 I liked the details of the vows sworn & pheres taken during the wedding... but what a long exchange of eye lock between Krishna-Rukmini😉😆

Krishna being playful with Rukmini in the room...Krishna brought tears in her eyes... Poor Rukmini😆 When he was saying he needs to tell her something about marriage, for a second I thought he's going to tell her about his other future wives in advance🤣

When they showed Devki going to hold the baby then Krishna on the chariot, then Devki holding the baby & Krishna on the chariot, Devki giving ashirvad to the baby then Krishna on the chariot, Devki feeding the baby & Krishna on the chariot... My god! it looked like a saas bahu show which focuses on two scenes at the same time while something is going to happen & on the other scene the lead female is running to stop that thing from happening, but as always, she's late in stopping that thing🤣 And Kritavarma's wife insulting Devki with all those words was just unbearable to listen to Btw I felt even Kritavarma looked so angry with Devki... especially that scene where he looks angrily at Devki before his wife starts insulting Devki😕 I wonder was it really his wife who didn't want Devki to be present at that occasion or was it his own wish😕

That so called Death's messenger didn't recognize Krishna? But how come? But why did he call him self Devki's saatwa putra... he's the eight son...isn't he? Even after being attacked with a sudarshan chakra, that Death's messenger didn't seem to recognize that he's Lord Vishnu???😕 & even warns he'll complain to Yamraj. Btw didn't Yamraj attend Krishna-Rukmini's wedding?😕

Btw if Krishna goes against the laws of universe by making the baby alive again then won't everybody whose kids die, insult Devki again thinking that if they do so then Krishna will make their kids alive again...I'm serious I wonder will this track now be followed with that track where Krishna will go & bring back his six brothers back alive & hand them over to Devki😕

Yeah, I thought that Thomas' scenes were pretty poorly done. I understand that the Sagars are introducing some fictional characters & events, like Amod and the farmers, but problem w/ the former was that in Krishna's Dwarka, like in Rama's Ayodhya, everyone was prosperous and nobody had any special needs or anything. Somehow, it looked wierd that in that city, there was just Amod and his mom who had problems. And she being poor - Krishna and his kinsmen saw to it that it was a prosperous kingdom.

Unfortunately, I missed that episode, and there are no re-runs, as far as I know. Will have to wait for YouTube.
Krishna being playful with Rukmini in the room...Krishna brought tears in her eyes... Poor Rukmini😆 When he was saying he needs to tell her something about marriage, for a second I thought he's going to tell her about his other future wives in advance🤣

But seeing that re-run today, actually he told her that she still has an opportunity if she wants to marry someone else. Kaise, Dwarkadheesh? Abhi to unka vivaha ho chuka hei, aabh aur kisi Raja ke paas bhejne se Amba ke tara ho jaye ga. Agar unko waise afsar dena hi thi, to voh vivaha ke aagey nei diya ja sekhta?
When they showed Devki going to hold the baby then Krishna on the chariot, then Devki holding the baby & Krishna on the chariot, Devki giving ashirvad to the baby then Krishna on the chariot, Devki feeding the baby & Krishna on the chariot... Krishna could get to Kundinpur in time to save Rukmini from marrying Sishupala, but he couldn't get to another house within Dwarka in time to save Devaki from holding the child, and getting insulted? Why, was traffic in Dwarka that bad that it's easier to drive to Vidarbha than another house in the same city? 😕😆 As for Kritavarma, both he & his wife didn't want Devaki there, which is why, as I commented in the update thread, she should not have gone.
Yamraj already caused Mahadev to attack him once when he tried killing Markandeya, and now, if he upsets Narayan as well, who will save him? Can't be his step-brother Shani, b'cos they don't get along, thanks to Chaya (Shani's mom, who used to discriminate against Manu, Yama & Yamuna)
No, Yamraj wouldn't have been allowed anywhere near Krishna-Rukmini's wedding, b'cos he'd have been apshakun and caused the death of someone there. What Shati Dev is suspected of would actually be true about him. Who would want Yamraj @ their party? Poor Yamraj 😆

Yeah, that's what he does, and that's the problem I have w/ this story as well. Tragic as it was, Devaki's sons were gone. Yeah, Krishna saved Parikshit and resurrected Rishi Sandipan's son, but if he can do this for Devaki, he could have done a lot more - like after the Kurukshetra war, resurrect Abhimanyu (and make Uttara & Subhadra happy), Vikarna (and cool some of Gandhari's hatred for him), Karna, some of the princes of Matsya, Panchala, Madra and all other kingdoms so that they'd have capable rulers after the war, while leaving Duryodhan, Dushashan, Shakuni, Drona, and others dead.
Maybe instead of cursing Krishna, had Gandhari abused Devaki, Krishna might have brought back one of his sons for him - Vikarna. LOL @ your suggestion that everybody who loses their son abuse Devaki to get them back. 😆
